Why do people do this on the base?

Alot of times ill see on threads people are having a discussion about something and someone with a really high post count will say one thing and ill see a bunch of people brown nose or something along those lines. And then on some other thread someone who is new will say the same thing as the guy whos been here longer and then ill see like 100 people say how that person is stupid or whatever. Why do people kiss ass like that?

I personally dont get it, its not like anything is gonna come of you being a suck up to someone who is more expierence. Its good to be respectful but you shouldnt be respectful to certain people. Be respectful to all
