Gaara stopped them both. He didn't want the Raikage to lose his foot. Didn't want Sasuke to die.

Anyway I think Raikage would have beat Sasuke in a 1 on 1 at that point. We do not know how much chakra Sasuke has now,can assume it's more though.
A still has Tailed Beast amounts of chakra and as he was gonna beat Sasuke then and we don't yet know what Sasuke can do now. I still have to say A would win. Sasuke is kinda similar to A, he goes in for the kill and pisses chakra all over the place. A wastes less though.
A has more experience and would Kill Sasuke in 1 hit. Without his team to watch his back, Sasuke would die in the 1st minute. Sasuke did not see A's first attack and would have been squashed if it had not been for Jugo & Suigetsu.

We can't make any assumptions about Sasuke's power. Only thing we can base this on is how strong Sasuke was against Danzo.

Actually as the guy commented above A couldnt break madaras incomplete susanoo and sasukes incomplete soaked up the raikages biggest attack the raiga bomb that being said i dont think he would break the full susanoo at all sasuke wins moderate difficulty

If A had killed Sasuke, the black flames die. Which the Raikage is able to do. He is also able to break through the Susanoo. I am not talking about Sasuke's potential EMS power. That's stupid. We don't know what he can do. I am talking 1 on 1.
Also, A just takes his limbs off if the flames spread. Admitedly if that happens and Sasuke survives the attack and A has 1 arm and 1 leg missing, he will lose.

But back then, A was too much for Sasuke, even the Danzo fight Sasuke. EMS is another story. I'm not gonna comment on that though as we haven't seen what it can do.

Im not sure where people got the idea that gaara saved sasuke.

A had already punched sasuke in susano and he lost an arm. What makes you guy think that his kick wouldve done anymore of a damage. He wouldve lost a leg for no reason, just like how he lost an arm. With sasuke fully intact

True that it takes incredible force to break the Susanoo but Madara and Sasuke are two diff people.
I do not yet know what Sasuke now can do. But the Sasuke of then vs the A of then. A wins. I agree as well that Sasuke could have taken much more of A, but Sasuke only made it that far cause he was saved by his friends. 1 on 1. I go with A.

I like the use of the actual manga so good effort there guys. Agreed that A was taking a lot of heat there and lost his arm through sheer stupidity. Sasuke does a great job of using MS to make a great offense & defense in one. Whether A can or cannot break that Tech is not known. I personally think he can, He knows how strong the Susanoo bones are and will probably have upped the strength to compensate. This tech would probably kill Sasuke & if not would result in A's death.
Again, good use of Evidence. Liked it.

I have to disagree sasuke was the one doing most of the work Juugo got put out after three hits Suigetsu got handled by Darui ,Sasuke took on about 16 Samuri's Countered Darui & C attacks. Darui & Raikage came rushing in once and sasuke tolded them to back off he didn't need there help ,then sasuke drop C with a genjutsu and was going head on with the raikage and already dodging two of his hits. Sasuke was doing well

EMS Sasuke however, Would more than likely destroy A. Not easily, But it would make A strength useless.
Sasuke's only weakness at this point I think, Is the chakra required to use big moves & his tendancy to use them a lot. If Sasuke controlled himself and his chakra more I think he'd be a better fighter.
I do not like how Sasuke has been over-done. He has for all intents and purposes, been given the God-Mod, sucks

Also, It's underrating. I try not to but it's hard to be for Sasuke when so many people worship him like a god. Makes people wanna go the other way. If you were more reasonable and less one-sided about everything, people wouldn't want to try and break him down.
I still think Sasuke is great. But I think he has many flaws which result in him always needing saving.

As I've said guys. If the Raikage gets past the Susanoo/Amaterasu , he will kill Sasuke. Once Sasuke is dead, the flames stop.
That said, if it doesn't kill him, then A's pretty screwed.
