No Dragon Ball, no Naruto/One Piece and compared to the other crap on the market it would still be the best.

Numbers speak for themselves. One Piece, Dragon Ball and Naruto are top 5 selling mangas of all time. Both OP and Naruto were influenced by Akira's work.

I've seen Dragon Ball for the first time just about two months ago and I can say it's definetly one of the best mangas/anime out there.

The reason why those are the best(according to numbers) is because they are ridiculously exposed. People that know nothing about anime no who Naruto and Goku is hell even my mom and my aunt know what Naruto is. They are just mainstream. Don't get me wrong DBZ is one of the best manga/anime out there but I feel like there are some manga/anime that are better.

Nostalgia is the reason there is progression not to mention Kishi/Oda's nostalgia towards DB.

The funny thing is is that it wouldn't really matter what I recommended people would still do it anyways. Just trying to put the thought in peeps mind to be more objective.
