{Hiya, my first fanfiction and if it's a hit, my first of many. Enjoy and give me feed back please. Contructive crit is welcome}
It all seemed a dream, something that wouldn't have really happened. Yahiko woke up the next morning and got up. Jariya couldn't be gone, he just couldn't have left them all alone. Yahiko looked down, as tears had started to form in his eyes. "It's happened again, they left again." Painful memories flooded his mind, as he ran his hands through his hair. "No, you have Nagato and Konan. I gotta protect them and." He brushed his sleeve across his face, wiping the tears away. "Cryings for cowards." "And cowards are late for breakfast as normal!" Yelled the familliar voice of Konan from the main room of their little home. A Small laugh escaped Yahiko's lips and he ran from his bedroom to greet his friends.
Nagato and konan were already sitting around a small pot of what looked like very runny porridge, it made a scowl cross Yahiko's face as he gazed upon it. "Umm, whats that?" He asked. "Breakfast, now Jariya is gone, we ain't got much to eat." Spoke Konan with a hint of sadness in her voice, she must have missed him as much as me, thought Yahiko. "Hey, he wouldn't want us to sit around here and mope and also why did he teach us ninjutsu?" "Because you asked him to?" Said Nagato, speaking for the first time. "Yeah, well. Shut up!" Konan giggled at Yahiko's frustration. "You know he taught us so we could survive and so we could help bring peace." "Oh great, here he goes again. And what do you suppose we do then?" Asked Konan in a bossy tone. "Maybe we go out there and do something? There must be someone out there that could pay us. I mean, three ninja trained under Jariya the Sannin? Willing to do anything to help this cursed land?" "Great, let's start handing out leaflets saying 'Group of abandon teens are gonna help you out with ninjustu. Well be bringing in the Ryo by the day and living in a five star hotel by next week." Commented Nagato snarky. {Note, Ryo is type of money I got from Naruto: Rise of a ninja.} "Well, I think it's a good idea." Said Konan, cutting across. "I think Jariya would be proud of us."
"Right, then were agreed? We leave this place and go off into the world?"
"Agreed"
"Nagato?"
Nagato was looking down into his bowel of porridge, his long red hair covering his eyes. A few moments later, he looked up at them and sighed. "Agreed, it's just... This place has been home for so long." At this point, Konan got up from her little stool and wrapped her arms around Nagato. "It's hard for all of us, Nagato. Well, I better go pack." And with that, she got up and walked away to her room.
It only took about ten minutes for everyone to back packed and ready, nobody wanted to linger on the home that reminded them of their master so much. With only a rucksack each, they turned to their frog cards, turned them over one last time and left for the rainy world outside.
What was only hours ago, seemed like a life time. Waking up wish his master would be next door and talking with his best friends about going out into the world and helping others. But here Yahiko was, traveling with Konan and Nagato into the heart of the hidden rain village. Everywhere they looked, they saw ninja from the rain itself and ninja from the leaf. At the moment, the leaf village was winning the great war that was tearing the land apart and their ninja were patrolling the streets. Searching for enemy ninja and Rain ninja helping the enemy. Yahiko, konan and Nagato looked all over town, but even the job office didn't have anything. Most common excuses were "We don't want trouble with the leaf", "The leaf ninja will deal with it" Or "Don't worry kids, it's not worth the hassle." It had seem the Rain village had lost its backbone and basically letting the leaf walk over them.
"Cowards! All of them Cowards!" Yelled Yahiko as they came out of back alley job office that had given the same bull. "I know, Yahiko but... Where are you going!?" Yelled Konan as Yahiko stormed away and into the rain.
Tears filled his eyes as he ran, far away. Away from the cowards, away from his friends, away from life. He ran till he had left the Rain behind him and ran into a field, were he colapsed upon the floor. Struggling for breath and needing time to think, Yahiko closed his eyes and drifted off.
Meanwhile Konan and Nagato stood, tranfixed on the spot where Yahiko was a worried Konan turned to Nagato. "I hope he's alright."
"He'll be fine, you know him, he'll find us once he has had a think through, come let's keep looking." And the twosome walked deeper into the heart of the village, the disappearance of their friend weighting down on both of their minds.
Yahiko opened his eyes, but he didn't see a dark sky and pouring rain. Instead, he was in a warm bed, in what looked like a wooden cabin. He sat up and looked around for who had put him there and sure enough, he saw a man sitting with his back turned to him in a corner. "Awake are we?" The man spoke, his voice was harsh and serious. The man turned on the stool he was sitting on, letting himself come into view of Yahiko. The man was about normal build, although he wore a plain black robe and on his face was... "Umm, excuse me. What's with the mask?" Asked Yahiko and sure enough, the man wore a orange mask with a spiral pattern around the only visible eye hole on the right. "That is a question for another time." Spoke the man. "But what matters now, Yahiko. Is what we are gonna do about this trouble you are having with leaf ninja in your town." Questions flooded Yahiko's head. Who was this name, how did he know his name and how did he know so much. But Yahiko knew better and knew he wouldn't get a answer, so, he just listened. Nodding his head at the man to show he understood. A chuckle came from under the mask, before the man spoke again. "I have a idea for this problem, one you may like." "And what makes you think that?" Questioned Yahiko. "Because you have no choice." It all happened so quickly, the man pulled off his mask with such speed, that before Yahiko could see his face, all he could feel was a piercing pain through his head and all he could see was a red eye with three totem seals around the pupil.
Was it a dream? It had felt so real. The pain and that eye? Was it his mind playing tricks on him. Yahiko opened his eyes to find himself in the same field he passed out in. Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes, before remembering back to the idea in his brain. With that, he got up and started to run back to the Rain to find and tell his friends.
It took him awhile to find them, but sure enough, Yahiko found both of them outside a local Ramen shop. They didn't have money to pay, but the warmth of the shop lifted their spirits as the rain poured down. "Yahiko!" Yelled Konan as she ran out, throwing her arms around him. "Hey, listen guys I have a idea." Spoke a out of breath Yahiko. "What another one? Like the one that made us leave out home?" Asked Nagato. "Shut it and listen. I say we form a group." But we are a group." Said Konan. "No, a bigger one. Listen, we can make our own organization and recruit other Rain ninja's. One's willing to fight, we can take on jobs and do things out of the goodness of our hearts to help this place." "But people are too scared to do anything." "That's why we give them hope, we do a few acts of ridding this place of leaf ninja and people will start standing up to them, I promise." Konan looked worried and scared, but before she could speak, Nagato cut across her. "I'm in, but we need a name?" He spoke with a smile across his face, which yahiko returned and made Konan feel a little braver. "How about Anti-Konan force?" Said Yahiko. "No, that's kinda obvious to what we do. How about Akatsuki?" "Akatsuki? Why?" "Because we’re gonna fight till the daybreak to see peace and isn't that we want? A world where we can stand up proud, in a peaceful world and know it's peaceful?" "Good idea Nagato." Spoke Konan and from that moment onwards, The Akatsuki was formed and the organization that would later be feared throughout the world, was aiming for a better tomorrow.
