Not as likely as you make it sound. How would the Elder son have survived all these years? The full abilities of the Gedo Mazo are at best vague and shady at this point in the manga. All we know is, a rinnegan user is required to awaken it, once awakened it can be used to seal tailed beasts and the Akatsuki used Nagato like a pawn to sync with it. An ideal rinnegan user has massive stamina, which is probably why Nagato was chosen as he was an Uzumaki.

You have weaklings like Sasori and Kakouzo who achieved immortality and you are asking how did son of a God, with the ability to manipulate space and time in his pocket dimension, became immortal? Why would anyone even ask such a question... sigh

P.S. Putting all the theories in one thread is terrible idea. Nobody is going to read all the 50 pages, which are going to multiply in short time. Meh, just leave them Tobi theories be. It's not like there's anything else left to talk about in this manga.

Madara coming to the end of his life span (after unlocking the rinnegan) decided to ressurect his brother with every last ounce of his strength and gave his brother his eyes to implant into a strong uzumaki (nagato). Izuna carried on living as Tobi and kept tabs on nagato so he could ressurect madara when he was strong enough and learnt to control the rinnegan.

I agree with the Izuna theory, here's what I have to say about it.

Izuna having lived for so long wouldn't be impossible, since he was only a couple of years older than Oonoki, since he also lived during the first war.

But, he obviously had died after having his eyes taken, but Madara having unlocked the rinnegan could have revived him and given him new eyes, which would explain why he constantly has his sharingan active since Kakashi who also had it implanted can't de-activate it either.

Also, about his age.. it probably took several years before Madara unlocked the rinnegan and revived him, so since he's revived he would be about 20 years younger than he would've been if he never had died, now.. look at Oonoki's age and remove about 20-ish years from that and compare it to what we have seen of Tobi's face, the age matches.

Though a decent idea in theory, it has some massive flaws. If Sasuke is Tobi, then how does Tobi tell Sasuke about the truth abouth the Uchiha Clan massacre? Not to mention, in a recent chapter (I can't remember which >.<) Sasuke is seen next to Tobi coming either towards or away from the battlefield (can't remember which again >.<)

Either you didn't read completely, or I didn't illustrate it thoroughly.

Tobi is Sasuke from a different future. If I needed to use another anime to elaborate, I would say Trunks and Future Trunks from DBZ.

Not going to lie, whoever moderates this forum has done a good job of pretty much shitting on what I typed. I didn't put in a lot of what I thought for others to read for it to be thrown into another thread, only half of which it relates to - I even explained why I rarely write said topics was a time issue and it still does click in their brain.

Moreover, it's quite saddening that no one else will be able to read the topic anymore, regardless of if they agree or disagree with the topic, the whole point of a forum is to bring up points not many address and have discussion about them - it's much better than the endless, brainless responses so many type. I doubt anything even relating to what I typed will happen with it anymore as it's lost on page like 46 of 50 pages of half assed replies in this thread.

O well though, guess that's the last time I write anything on this site not that 99% of u will care though, so I guess it's fine ^_^..
