Anyway, while thinking of the Rinnegan in my other thread (SPOILER),

, I also thought about another Rinnegan-related thing with two parts: 1. Were the Six Paths' Rinnegans implanted, like "created" from Nagato's chakra (what I initially thought), or something else?

2. If implanted, how did he get 12 Rinnegans? (if never explained, give me your opinion)

like i said in your other thread, i think the controller, or main rinnegan user, flows chakra into the rods and it can be used to manifest temporary rinnegan in their eyes, when the rods are removed, the rinnegan vanish

Your answer makes sense. I can't really think of any other way the bodies would aquire the Rinnegan.

I made a comment saying something similar to this quite some time ago, not gonna go dig it up, but it was essentially the same thing you're saying. The Rinnegan is sort of projected onto their eyes from the main user, it's not actually a new eye implanted there. I originally thought this because, well, how on earth could someone get so many Rinnegan?

But now that it's been stated that the Rinnegan is unlocked through the Sharingan.. it seems it may be possible. We've all seen Tobi's huge collection of Sharingan, maybe somehow he's transformed mass amounts of them into Rinnegan. Sure, it sounds crazy, but anything's possible. I don't really have a theory on HOW he'd transform them at the moment, but maybe in the future we'll get more info on this, and it'll become clearer.

However, the eye-projection theory still seems more plausible. I'm pretty sure I've made this point before, but if you look at the animals summoned by that one path of Pain, they also have Rinnegan. If you go back and look at the Kyuubi when Tobi is controlling it to attack Konoha, it showed a projection of his Sharingan on the 9-tails' eye(s). So, it's safe to assume the Animal summons simply have a projection of the Rinnegan on their eyes, because that's what the person who controls them has. And if it works on animal summons, and even the Kyuubi, it must be the same with humans, ie. the Six Paths of Pain.

Naruto and Bee has no choice but to take down each user 1 by 1. They could go to Tobi and then end all the users but with all the distractions from the users too. It'll be tough for Naruto and Bee.

Sounds plausible, but unless I'm mistaken the Path that was sent to Konoha for study still had the Rinnegan after the rods were pulled
