Should naruto take the exams before becoming hokage?

If he's the best man for the job why does rank matter?

Hashiramam who I'm sure wasnt ranked was the first hokage and tobirama also and he become th 2nd

They were the best people for the job so they became hokage, it shouldn't be any different in this situtation

It has everything to do with intelligence and power since there is an exam involved before going onto the next rank.

Also if naruto can become hokage when he is a genin, that obviously defeats the purpose of the whole ranking system, because people might aswell just train to get stronger and forget about taking an exam to improve their rank

-_-, so Sakura as a Chuunin is intelligent than let's say Sasuke, or Kakashi a Jonin more powerful than Naruto, Jonins are chosen by the Hokage anyway, there is no exam that we know of, the only exam we know is Chuunin Exams.

And the thing is , Hashirama and Tobirama were smart, Running a entire village is no easy task.. Naruto can't do it, not with his current intelligence......The constant paper work , Ordering anbu, appointing heads, appointing missions etc....

Unless they start working like Kumogakure .......The raikage doesn't seem to be that intelligent..but he's strong.....But why do you think kumo hasn't sucessfully invaded Konoha yet? Its because of their intelligence etc......Having a dumb hokage will just lower the standards....

We are going off topic, but would i say sakura is more intelligent than sasuke?, it depends. You need not bring up naruto's power level because im not doubting it, im doubting his intellect outside of battle.

There is so much more than just being the most powerful ninja in your village and whilst naruto isnt short of power, he is short of intelligence which the exams exploit.

Regardless if a kage elects chuunins to be jonins naruto would have to be a chuunin first btw.
I think it would be cool if he took the chuunin exams murk everyone in it and gain leader ship skills as he would be the strongest and in charge. Because right now the best leadership hes shown is he wants to solo everyone and command his clones
