How can tsuchikage fly?

he can fly because the dust carries him without the dust visible to the eyes, there could be dust all in the air somewhere and no one notices it, it makes sense, dust is an actual something, so its an object, and since onoki can control dust, he gathers his dust around himself thus making him float and take off in the air.

plus wind style, and the fact that he is kage level, his kg allows him to fly, plus he is old, and has had plenty of time to study the jutsu and make it his own. he uses the dust like gaara uses the sand, except you can not pin point the dust like you do sand.

it may be concentrated chakra control, way higher then balancing on water chakra control, but common sense tells us that dust can be invisible to the eye, but until we see another ninja doing it, we will have say its either wind manipulation or dust manipulation on a high scale, because he is fast, and able to float in mid air

His ability (in some) is translated as Particle style, not Dust. And one of his techniques is known as Atomic Dismantling. I don't think I have to elaborate on what he does there o.o

I still think it has something to do with density. Are we forgetting that he can transfer the Flight technique to others, too? Like Kuro and Akatsuchi?

i agree, controlling atoms is another logical way, dust is so small its pretty much controlling the atom and manipulating that with major chakra control

so lets say as a theory.

though one thing interests me, tsuchikage could probably use Atomic bomb techniques if he had the knowledge, since he can control particles he could probably split atoms, and release massive amount of energy!! - tsuchikage has the potenicial to be the strongest character ever! lol

Oonoki can transfer the ability to fly to others. Can he transfer his mastery of chakra control as well? Maybe you dont need to be a master at chakra control. Maybe the chakra control of a novice is enough to propel oneself after Oonoki changes your density.

i dont know, but in my opinion, his ability to Fly probably comes from his ability to manipulate weight. which is why he has a reputation of being called the Ryotenbin guy.

i dont know if he's altering their weight to make them as light as a balloon, or if he's releasing the earth's gravity hold on their bodies. its a possibility that it could just be a rare kekkei genkai though.

Good point you have there, i think he changes the density of their bodies, in a way that they are ready for flight, then they use their chakra to fly, though i dont think everyone could do it, onoki probably taught kuro and aka this special chakra control, like you said he changes the density of someone and if they know the chakra control of flight, they'll be able to fly xd

i was Amazed when i first heard that the sage of the six paths flew into space and created the moon, i was more excited about the flying part actually lol, because i always thought it would be cool to see someone in the manga fly like the matrix! lol, and then i learned that tsuchikage could do just that, its impressive, but im left wondering how can he do it? what jutsu or element or technique does tsuchikage use to be able fly?

i would really like to see naruto flying in the end as fast as a speeding bulllet! lol

my guess is because of his blood line expansion, he can use wind, earth, and a third element

Small correction: it was never said the Sage flew to space to create the moon. Deva was able to create the ball of rock in the sky while he was still on the ground. So the Sage wouldn't have had to be in space.

Onoki's ability to fly hasn't been explained yet other that the fact Madara recognized him as "Iwagakure's Ryotenbin brat", whatever that means.

That's the only remark that's been made about his flying ability.

Also, has Muu been shown to fly? I don't remember. If not, then you can rule out the Dust Release as a reason. It's probably something he was born with
