ive re-read the manga and even the wiki for some reason, and ive noticed tobi is kinda like nagato: both want ultimate peace.

both nagato and tobi want to bring peace but have un-favorable means: nagato wanted to create a weapon out of the tailed-beasts and use it to terrorize the world into peace(ironic). tobi has a more stricter means, complete enslavement where all the earth's inhabitants are under his control but this means no more war.

overall: i think while tobi has terrible means, his objective is good.

Don't forget, we still don't know who Tobi really is. Sure there are rumors all over the place, but there's still a chance that the whole reason he gave was just a story (similar to how he claimed to be Madara). Like with all power-hungry villains, he may only want to enslave the world, "because he can." Nagato's been shown a sympathetic side, a tragic past that no one should have gone through. Because of that, fans felt sorry for him.

In my opinion, Tobi is sort of opposite... he's doing because.. well, he's bored I guess. Until we're filled in on a real reasoning that isn't a rumor or speculation, Tobi will always be the "more evil" of the two.

For all we know, he may wanna take over the world in his genjutsu to get rid of all fillers.

Tobi wants ultimate control, he is motivated by power not peace unlike nagato.

That,s like saying am gunna kill everybody to make the world peaceful.

no stupid, hes saying if he controls everyone, he can make them do what he wants or doesnt want, so no war=peace

I does not matter what Tobi's true goals are. What matters is that he does bad stuff. Tobi is a bad man. He's evil not because of his goals but because of his actions.

it's like oonoki says, he says he wants to get peace, but it's more likely that he wants to rule the world. he attacked konoha for little reason, helped assasinate the uchiha clan. and he's fuelling sasuke's and intends to use him to kill off the senju as well.

plus he's admitted that he's nothing like nagato, to naruto. his primary aim is to become complete, not to bring peace.

Isn't that how it generally rolls for the characters in Naruto?
They usually don't have a hollow reason for doing what they do... Unlike some American cartoons that can't even think of a decent reason for someone turning into a psychopath...

And remember the days when Tobi was deemed the 'good boy'?
Yeah, miss those days...

if anything, tobi is more like orochimaru than nagato. even though orochimaru also had a driving factor for becoming evil (the death of his parents and seeing tsunade lose her brother made him want to become immortal or sth like that), but nagato remained ultimately good intentioned, whereas orochimaru and tobi are not, they're seeking power for themselves, oro wants to become the ultimate being and tobi wants to have everything become complete with him
