What's the deal with lightning > earth. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

shitty explination

Hey guy, I'm thinking on a more logical sense here.

Wouldn't it be a bit more realistic if water > lightning > earth > wind > fire ?

you're trying to say water>lightning>earth>wind>fire>water (because it's a circle). now that's messed up, IMO. and plus, you agreed that lightning is greater than earth in your scenario.

Logics doesn't work in cartoon, in logic, Can a person go up a tree with their feet or walk on water?

No, Exactly

yeah, see? It's getting to me too, messing me up. What I meant:

Fire < Water < Lightning < Earth < Wind <

Why isn't this more logical? Water conducts electricity as far as I know! At least more than.. pebbles and dirt.

They can stand on water as much as they want, as long as they understand that if they drop a toaster still connected to the plug, they'll experience unpleasantry. And I'm not talking about that good unpleasantry when you slip a fing- you know where I'm getting at.

Yes, I'm sure it can happen. However, I'm sure you agree that water being "weak" against lightning makes more sense than earth, based on ability of conductivity of the two?

Please say yes, or go back to school.

Water > Fire = Water Douses Fire

Fire > Wind = Fanning the flames

Wind > Lightning = Air is a poor electrical conductor

Lightning > Earth = Earth is made of elements ("metals") which conduct electricity. On a different aspect, let's take a look at the nature of both chakras. Earth jutsu are fairly straight forward - they make solid structure, or deal with the creation of earth into different forms. Lightning in the Naruto universe represents energy, and it is explicitly demonstrated with vibrations. If you take atoms, the building blocks of any structure (represented by Earth) and increase their energy, they start to move away from each other; that is earth is torn apart by the application of energy. It makes sense from a molecular stand point. And on a bigger scale it works as well. If I had a giant boulder and could cause it to vibrate at extremely high speeds, it would shatter. Further more, from an electrical stand point, earth does conduct electricity - that's why we have lightning.

Earth > Water = the land stops the ocean.
