Sasuke has spiky black hair with a blue tint, which lengthens as the story progresses, and onyx eyes. He has lighter skin than his older brother, Itachi, had. His bangs hang both sides of his face to roughly frame his cheeks. A recurring theme in Sasuke's appearance is that he is considered quite handsome by almost all girls near his age. At the beginning of Part I, Sasuke's clothing consisted of a blue, short-sleeved shirt with a raised collar and the Uchiha crest on the back and white arm warmers, which he stopped wearing after the Chūnin Exams, along with white shorts. In the last stage of the Chūnin Exams, he wore a black, one-pieced version of this outfit with many small arm-belts adorning his left arm and similar bands around both legs, but eventually went back to his original clothes, due to the creators having a difficult time drawing the black version on a regular basis. As the story progressed, the Uchiha symbol became smaller and smaller.
Initially, Sasuke wore a short blue-clothed headband with the Konoha symbol on the metallic plate. After suffering a second defeat from Itachi, Sasuke stopped wearing it for a time. He put it back on during the latter half of the battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End, only to let it drop off at the end. After that, Sasuke hasn't worn a headband again.

In Part II, Sasuke has grown noticeably taller over the two and a half years and more muscular. He was first shown wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, similar in appearance to the lavender long-sleeved shirt worn by Kimimaro and which was open at the torso, with a smaller version of the Uchiha crest on his collar. He wore dark blue pants with a blue cloth hanging from halfway up his stomach to his knees. He also wore a purple rope belt around his waist, tied in a bow, in which he carries his sword. After battling Deidara, he switched to a sleeveless dark grey shirt. His arm guards were also removed, and he started wearing bandages on his wrists, under which he wore special bracelets with seals where he stores shuriken. He also wore a cloak with this.

Sasuke's personality could best be described in one word as flippant. He will remain silent, or simply outright ignore someone at times, while at others he will be fully engaged with them. Sasuke can be outright brutal with words, if someone doesn't already know how he wants to be treated, he has a tendency to snap. This anger stems from several places in his psyche, from never having been able to hold on to things he wanted, and from being treated in a little bit of a spoiled but shunned fashion by the rest of the Leaf village while growing up. Sasuke will usually never abandon a foe in combat, though he may turn on you if pushed or if he simply feels like you've become a liability to him. Though if you're his comrade, he will do his utmost to make sure you do NOT become a liability to him. Sasuke isn't above a small smile, but won't laugh unless something only he understands happens or something plucks one of his insane nerves. Sasuke was born to Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha on July 23rd. He already had an older brother, named Itachi, so Sasuke came into a full family immediately in life. He grew up in the Leaf village, admiring his older brother and loving his mother and father as any child would. He was always fascinated with the ninja world, especially his older brother Itachi and his father as he got older. Eventually, as a boy, Sasuke got to the age where he naturally wanted to be acknowledged by bother his brother, and father as a ninja though this would prove difficult for the young Uchiha. His father was so enthralled with Itachi's accomplishments as a ninja, that he didn't really show Sasuke much attention at first. Leaving Sasuke to cling to Itachi whenever he could, attempting to learn what he could from his brother and all the while trying his best not to annoy him. Sasuke spent some of the best moments of his life with his older brother during this time period, before everything started to change. One night, other Uchiha's came and questioned Itachi at home about his best friend Shisui that Sasuke had heard about from him a few times...apparently he had disappeared. Sasuke overheard but Itachi didn't know. Soon after that Itachi and their father had a falling out of sorts, and suddenly Sasuke was the one receiving his father's attention. After being compared endlessly to Itachi, the more and more time he spent with his father, Sasuke became determined to show the difference between them. He began practicing the namesake jutsu of the Uchiha clan, the Fireball jutsu. Although he didn't get it on the first try like Itachi, and left his father temporarily disappointed, he mastered the technique within one week. Not only earning his father's respect, but earning the right to wear the Uchiha symbol on his back. Something he would never forget. For the first time he felt his father had acknowledged him in a way he'd always seen Itachi receive. One fateful night that would shape the rest of his life, his brother Itachi Uchiha betrayed, and slew, his entire family and clan. Leaving Sasuke a state of terror and mental shock at a young age. Sasuke watched the lives of everyone and everything he ever knew drift away at Itachi's hands, the only person he ever had truly received love from. This trauma caused Sasuke to awaken his Sharingan, and persue Itachi, though only a brief though emotional exchange ensued, Sasuke was bested immediately and Itachi was gone.
