Well, it would appear there is no official rule regarding signature images. I believe there are guidelines, but it takes so long for something to be done it's really quite incredible. So I highly recommend we add a rule to the Global Rules about signature images and their size. It would also be advisable to add this information above the edit signature box on the edit signature page, in red colored text too. Possibly bold.​

Signature images should not exceed a maximum width of 800 pixels or maximum height of 400 pixels. Image size should not exceed 1000KB. Only three standard image types may be used, jpeg, png, and gif. Absolutely no bitmaps or tiffs under any circumstance. (Though I don't think NB even supports tiffs). Signatures containing pictures of Itachi must be at least 5000x5000 pixels.

Why even have this rule?

As it stands, we have kids with wallpapers for signature images. Seriously, 1280x1024? That's a wee bit on the outrageous side, don't you think? Nobody wants to wait for your signature image to load on every single thread on every single page (which is especially bad for people with slower internet connections). Also, if your image isn't automatically resized it will force the page to scroll on the X axis.

Apparently expecting people to be considerate of others is too much to ask for.​

But only admin can delete signature images.

It's probably not the best idea to give out more power, but in this case I think it's worth it. Insanely huge signature images are popping up every day, and the admin don't really have to the time to remove said images from people's signatures. I do my part in sending people requests to change their signatures. Unfortunately, most of the time the kids just rage at me, crying incessantly like toddlers who were told they couldn't have candy at the grocers.​

Nah, your signature image is fine, and it's only 82kb, even on a 56K connection that would be manageable.

That's really just a guideline and not an official rule as far as I know. It's not really enforced either.

Theres already a rule and the maximum Size allowed for Signatures is 600x200 or 400x400. There's an 800 pixel limit.

As stated before, it's a guideline. There is no official rule stating any dimensions or filesize for signature images. There are no rules posted anywhere on NB in regards to this. That's the point of this suggestion, so this can be enforced. Or can't you read?

Your idea is noble but I don't think they'll understand a bit. The best will be to write your quote as a "Notice in Red" in the

. It's more radical and atleast they'll know the restrictions better if they saw that Note just before they perform their acts. To my eyes, this will be more prolific.

Now, if the Admins can put that rule on both the Edit Signature Page and Global Rules, then it's better.

I'm pretty sure moderators can also change it, or disable it, but yet again I'm not sure which plugins Narutobase has, nor do I know if it requires a plugin to perform said feature. So maybe you could look into that if you're dead serious about putting in this feature, or if Admins decide to put in this feature.

Anyway, I don't think you really need to put down a filesize limit for static images, since it's going to be very rare for static images to go over 200kb, even if they're at the maximum size for signatures, should this go ahead. Just have a limit of 1000kb, or 1mb for all images, including gifs.

Anyway, it's a good idea (I think I brought this up before) and it should definitely be implemented.

Good idea on the edit signature section. The reason I want this implemented is, it will give many people a chance to warn people of their signature if it's actually written in the rules. So hopefully, when somebody is notified they're signature is against the rules, they'll find it in their hearts to oblige with the rules (or to avoid being infracted).

Good idea on the size limit. Though some people make image files with extremely large sizes on purpose.
