Well the Tobi = Obito fans are going to tell you that that could have been where he was crushed by the rock. I'm pretty sure that it will either be a completely new person or someone like Izuna who knows Madara and could have been making plans with him this whole time. Because Madara knows who that is and said they had been working together.

This thread is useless. Obito theory is officialy disproven by Kishimoto.
Madara and Tobi were working together. Obito was not even alive by then, not even close to that.
Someone make a thread out of this and ask Mod to make it a sticky. People should get banned for making Obito threads.

Nagato was about 35-40 years old when he died, so Madara must have died atleast 30 years before current events. Not Obito, nor Shisui was alive at that moment.

I believe that the masked man is Madara little brother Izuna Uchiha because one the masked man said that the leaf killed his brother (Madara) two he said that Madara never stole his brothers eyes his brother gave him his eyes and three revived Madara said "This is his doing" meaning its someone he knows and Obito wasn't alive when Madara was alive .

really, there's no need to call anybody idiots. and you're just guessing on the timeline, and we don't know when madara died, so we have to guess that as well. and it's not clear when madara and tobi began working with each other. some have asked why would madara choose an little crushed uchiha to carry on his will? lol, they have answered themselves. listen, if it's a madara clone and indeed madara's spirit is inside him, then how can he even think about deviating from the plan, it's no different if I tried to make a plan that goes against my will.
so who else could it be? remember now that madara TRUSTED tobi to NOT turn on him and revive him from the dead. despite kabuto's loyalty, oro doubted him at times. so who could madara trust? someone he could manipulate is most likely, and who's better to manipulate than a child.
we know that madara chose a little uzumaki boy like nagato, he was obviously relying on him to bring him back from the dead. why not an uchiha?
and no, I don't believe that IF tobi is obito that obito has any conscience on who he use to be, I think that madara may have been experimenting on obito.
the possibilities as to why he looks old are many. obito could even have madara's cells in PLUS hashirama's, if you think about that AND the possibility that MADARA was his mentor, and it's not so hard to imagine that he'd be able to do the things he did when he fought the 4th. and I don't think having madara's cells would in any way make him madara because yamato has hashirama's cells but he's not hashirama.
and when danzo used shisui's eye to control mifune, that guy with the byakugan said that he saw SHISUI'S chakra! i think it's possible that the fox could have mistaken tobi for madara for many reasons when he said "YOU!"
