lol it's not awkward, just some people don't want to release that info. There are alot of people though that don't mind making new friends and have nothing to hide. So you still may get friends out of it you should b proud that you don't have anything to hide as well xd

I am also a victim of facebook spamming family friends ;p
my family in Turkey sees me once in a few year, so they asked me to open one to atleast contact me easier.. Can't say no to sweet aunts cousins and uncles ;p
