I have a feeling the 2 Madaras are the same person... People have slammed the soul splitting theory I've noticed...

But remember this is fiction... (Voldermort split his soul into 7 pieces)... and the Sharingan seems able to do almost anything...

I made a theory about Tobi being the jubii in an incomplete form... But now I believe Tobi is Madara in an incomplete form... is it really impossible that Madara had a tech' that allowed him to leave part of his soul behind and latch it onto something.

Let's take these points into account...

• Both Itachi and Tobi have said that he (Tobi) is a shell of his former self.
  
• Tobi has stated that he wants to become complete.
  
• Tobi stated that Nagato's (resurrection technique) was meant to be for himself (Tobi) after it was used to resurrect the fallen Leaf Ninja.
  
• Edo Madara knows Nagato
  

Now... again... is it too much to think that Madara always knew about Nagato's abilities and had at some point planned to resurrect Madara when the time/conditions were right and merge the 2 Madara's together. This would partially explain why Edo-Madara says "It seems that brat Nagato has grown!" momentarily believing himself brought back by Nagato, until realising it's Edo-Tensei.

The Edo-Madara is obviously different from the Remnant Madara (Tobi), So the part of Edo-Madara that "passed on", has no recollection of current events.

The only thing I can't explain is how Madara knows Nagato... seeing as Nagato would not have even been born at the time of Madara's fall so how would Edo-Madara have an knowledge whatsoever?!

Anyway just throwing that out there if it hasn't already been said! (Far too many theories to go through)

Hell maybe Tobi is infact just someone carrying out Madara's plans and is infact just calling himself Madara as he is carrying out Madara's will!

Your title is odd, but I thnk you've got the idea. The theory of a split of Madara makes a lot of sense.

You could be right and i also think the splitting of souls theory is highly likely,and it could even be that madara posseses izanami( perhaps a ems tech).Kishi introduced muu's tech for a reason, especially about losing half your powers.

I just don't get the timeline and how madara knew nagato,and actually expected to be reveived by him.I think tobi perhaps told the truth about everything,but just left out the part that the "real" madara recieved the same treatment,but something obviously went wrong since he died.

He could be an entirely new character but i like to leave the door open...

Good point about Muu splitting... it was like a hint that it's not impossible... Yup... Tobi could very well be a fresh character... only using Madara's name to gain more credibility...

Also remember that Tobi said he gave Nagato the Rinengan... I believe there is definitely some huge connection between the 3 of them.

The problem with Tobi being Madara is that Tobi didn't give a sh1t about "himself" aka Edo Madara. You would think if it was his soul left behind to ressurect himself in a perfected form (jubi jinhuuriki) his main goal after seing himself would be to kill Kabuto and release himself from his control but that's not what we see. As long Kabuto has Edo Madara he can't ressurect himself. Tobi simply doesn't care for the Edo Madara as long as he stays in the coffin and does not interfere with his plans. Only way this would make sense is that Tobi(Madara clone) became independant and now he has his own plans and his own vision for future. He simply doesn't give a damn about Madara any more.

Another flaw in this theory is that people base their facts on what Tobi said after Nagato died from overusing his powers : "No.. I can't believe Nagato used his Rinne Tensei like that. It's supposed to be for me... What a betrayal...". People think he said "ON ME" but he actually said "FOR ME". It's a HUGE difference.

Besides, as the descriptions says, you can't ressurect someone that has died a long time ago. So using that tech to ressurect himself when he already exists with much greater power just doesn't make sense to me.

How does Madara know about Nagato? Well, Rinnegan is unique and I doubt that any random person could have it. Somehow Madara knew there would be a boy with rinnegan named Nagato. Maybe it was written in the secret tablet at Naka Shrine? Maybe someone predicted it (e.x. Great Toad Sage). Maybe Madara didn't die after battle with Hashirama?

Another thing just striked me. Zetsu eats dead bodies right? What if Zetsu consumed Madara after the battle? After all it is said that Madaras body was nowhere to be found. What if Zetsu ate it and thus Tobi was created? Not exactly Madara and not exactly someone else. He thinks of himself as Madara but calls himself "a shell of former self". Tobi has bodyparts like Zetsu. Also, Tobi was very suprised that Kabuto found Madaras dna. But than again who and what the fuk is real Zetsu. It doesn't look like human, more like a someones creation. He doesn't fit in the story. I wish we could know more about him ><
