Shino vs. Shikamaru

idk if this has already been done. idk how to check since i'm new :O
but i was wondering who you guys think would win between Shino Aburame and Shikamaru Nara. Both Pre- and Time- skip eras. My vote goes to Shino. i'll explain why if anyone opposes. please give a reason also.

true. Luck did seem to get Shino once (vs. Kankuro) but otherwise...i think Shino would take this...not easily though

shikamaru has my vote. in both

shikamaru is a perfect strategist. he can figure out and anticipate moves shino has in a matter of moments. they are both long distance fighters (shikamaru so to speak).

on shinos side the annoying bugs might be an advantage for him. but once again i still see shikamaru finding a way around it

impossible lmaox Shikamaru's chakra supply is...well...sucky. Shino is the kinda guy to seem like he's gonna try and end the battle quickly, but somehow prolongs it. granted shikamaru is smart...but you need more than wits to beat Shino...the guy is pretty smart himself

its true shikamaru is an outstanding stratagist, but even from the beginning of the chunnin exams it shows shino is also a good stratagist, and shikamarus shadow techniques to contol shino wouldnt be very effective since the bugs can operate on their own, i give it to shino

This is actually a really hard choice.

Shino is a really smart guy too. His IQ probably isn't as high as Shikamaru but he's nobody to take lightly.

For both pre- and timeskip I'm going to give Shino the benefit of the doubt and pick him

He cud beat Shino by having a paper bomb where Shino doesn't expect after getting him with a very powerful shadow jutsu, etc. In part 1 I wud have to give it to Shino though.

yeah but intelligence doesn't mean everything. and shino wouldn't dare underestimate shikamaru. i mean...all shino has to do is use bug pillar jutsu right off the bat, or lace the sky and the ground with them. it'll be over

and yeah he's smart but shino's not dumb either. besides, the only way shikamaru managed to beat hidan is because he was prepared wayyy in advance with prior knowledge

^^ I think he cud beat Hidan 1v1 because Hidan is pretty weak but still gotta give Shika credit. Anyways bro, Shika is more of a lead role character and his fighting style is unpredictable, he can be very unexpected like what if Shino is too busy getting bugs on him and next thing u know Shika goes "success" and a bomb goes off. Still this wud be an interesting fight tho and I don't underrate Shino I mean I do believe he is more powerful than your average jonin for sure.
