Yes, you'll channel your doton chakra around you, but not to make an armor, only if someone or you'll touch someone, will turn to stone, but this technique can be easily evaded with Nagashi >.>

I keep spitting more earth so that the golem size keeps increasing by using my chakra to spit out more earth to form the golem. I keep spitting till I have a larger and stronger golem than the first time I did this jutsu.*
