[Discussion] Is the war costly enough?

Does anyone else feel that the war is not costly enough? I have noticed people mentioning that the manga is getting boring for them and I think this is the reason. There has been a lot of fighting and action but the problem I have been seeing is that nobody or importance is getting gravely injured or dying. At the beginning there were mentions of thousands of casualties and countless white zetsus dying on the first day of the war but there have yet to be any consequences that makes the war feel like a war.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want my more of my favourite characters being killed off, but look at how impactful the pain arc felt after he killed Jariya. Or how emotional it was when Hidan killed Asuma and Shikimaru fought for vengances. It just makes sense to have someone important die. And not someone like a recently introduced kage at the beginning or the war or someone who is already dead being sealed.

That being said, I think they might kill of Garaa. I just hope if someone of importance does die. It is Madara or Kabuto to do it and not someone who was brought back to life. It would make them appear as more of a threat and make the war much more interesting.

First of all, welcome to the base. And about what you said, I doubt that Gaara will die...but if someone should die, then that might be the tsuchikage. He's too old to remain kage. He should be replaced by a new one. I think the tsuchikage should retire already...

I agree, but it is suppose to be an all out war against some of the strongest in the entire narutoverse. It seems crazy that nobody has died by now. Especially when on the first day thousands or people died. I can't believe that not one person from the known cast has yet to die

I was hinting at this with the comment about recently introduced kages being killed. I see it coming but so what? Who really cares if he does? It won't really make the war feel dire by any means. He already has one foot in the grave as it is.

First of all he is the strongest kage that the alliance have and it's good that he is old that just means he has experience unlike gaara who has NO experience of a world war....and no matter who replaces him he won't be strong enough to match the current one since his is the only one alive who can use dust release

I'm just saying that I doubt Gaara will die. For me he doesn't have enough fans yet. I think someone else that people like will die.

I agree with you that he is strong, but do you think the war will feel more intense or emotionally involving when or even if he dies? How much attachment do you have to him as character?

I almost feel as if the added him so they would have someone powerful to kill off and pose an added threat to the war without killing off a primary character. This is assuming he will even die. I feels a bit like adding a red shirt character to star trek for one episode.

Then plenty of konoha ninjas and important supporting characters or even kages will be killed by sasuke for sure.

Madara will also cause lots of deaths to a few supporting chars I reckon.

There are plenty of deaths to come up. The war has been pretty boring of course, but that means it still has to reach its climax. Dont worry, the last kage is about to be sealed, then the action will focus itself on sasuke,madara and kabuto

Meh, the wars been going on for ONE day and a a few hours, there arent much edo's left, and the zetsu's are probably close to all gone, the known chars are mainly tougher than the fodder that do stupid things like attack raikage when a person who knew him tells them to dodge. If anyone's dying, its definitely not going to be against the edo's, itll probably be vs madara or sasuke(eff kabuto)

I certainly hope so. Not because I want them to die obviously but it needs to get exciting

yea war is gettting kind of bland..cuz it seems like naruto is just killing people who have been in countless battles off so easily...i kno he's strong but dang, naruto being this strong is jsut gonna make sasuke's debut kinda broke and dumb..cuz he's gonna be so overpowerd to coop with narutos progress...and if anyones dying its gonna be Bee the hachibi...hope this isnt a spoiler but i got a feeling, a bad one

well everyone seems to think tsuande's time is up soon. To join the rest of the sannin.

That would be a big blow to konoha as there really isnt anyone at the moment that could take her place. Everyone else is either needed to fight or simply doesnt have a good sense to the job of hokage.

Kahashi, Gai, naruto all are some of the strongest konoha has but they needed for battle. I say shika's dad my take the job on temperory.

You got a point. The manga is gettin pretty boring now with all those endless battles. Kishi needs to step it up and make everything more interesting again.
