Madara would've been too much of an hassle for Itachi. Remember Even ITachi said only an Uchiha can defeat him. So Madara is a perfect Counter for Itachi. Plus Madara knew more about Itachi, than What Itachi knew about him, so itachi was at an disadvantage.

Itachi only gave sasuke Amaterasu, so that MAdara wouldn't tell sasuke the truth.

But too bad Itachi didn't know more about Madara. Even Madara said, "If he had known about me, he would've killed me".

But since Itachi was also an diversed Uchiha , just like Madara, maybe ITachi knew how to counter or knew a way around some of MAdara's Techniques. He didnt want itachi to know all about him otherwise Itachi would've figured him out, and Madara must've thought Itachi had the potential to kill him thats why he kept secrets from itachi, and even said "Itachi wouldv'e killed me"

good point and completely agreed but to the previous thing u said about nagato is not too bright becos he did not absorb with his preta path when he was alive i think its just a plot hole but not something that is actually showing that nagato is not bright. what do u think about this cos i find it very hard to believe that nagato does not kno his own power can restore him. just want to kno what u think on that perspective.
