Naruto has just prove that He can come up with solutions to a problem in the middle of a fight in other words Battlefield Smarts, this is the difference between other fighters including Sasuke ,in that Naruto is flexible and not rigged in His thinking able to adapt, improvise and overcome an opponent in the battlefield.

I believe people are referring to Naruto's tactical abilities vs. Shikamaru's (for example) strategic abilities, granted he also has solid tactical ability. I don't find this novel, but I don't mind it as a reminder for those who call Naruto dumb. Intelligence comes in many forms...

Battlefield Smart is a term that recognizes a person ability to perceive danger and come up with quick solutions that are flexible in the chaos of the battlefield were others get stump, or panic to the challenge. Sasuke is not used to not having things go His way, Sasuke is smart but not pressure on the spot smart like Naruto.

You forgot the shadow shuriken plan he came up when fighting Zabuza. Infact he was the first one to sense his prsence when Zabuza and Haku were following their team.. He therw a kunai at the voice and it hit a fox.. Sakura rantd at him and Sasuke showed his superior humph( I think).. only Kakashi got alert since that fox was not local..
