Love is a feeling of great fondness or enthusiasm for a person or a thing. I can't explain what it means for me so I just wrote the definition here from my dictionary...

But In all seriousness, I believe love is that feeling you have when you care deeply for some thing. A passion for and are willing to risk anything, even your own life to keep that object, thing and/or person happy or safe.

The Major problem here is people compare flings to love as though its the same thing. Just as I would say you are doing right now with the way your talking about how people choose love. We all have preferences to start with any one that says they don't is likely saying that to get in some ones pants and wants to impress. Preferences is how it starts but flings means you keep liking them for what ever Preferences but is they did not meet what ever criteria you would not still be with them Love means that even if what ever that Preference changed you would stay. If your trying to test someone don’t bother they will always say it does not matter.
Love to me is when u love someone period, how does it start? Preference, it starts with u liking how they look with their nice ass and everything u get the point.

However, everything has a down-side and love is no different because love is ignorance and ignorance is bliss and bliss is temporary but u want to have it forever and so the desire never ends but u don´t realize that bliss is a mind-set and fail to see the bliss already around u so u become blind which ultimately means what the guy above me said.............................Love is blind.
