ICv2 has announced the top 25 manga properties for the first half of 2011. The chart, reproduced below, is said to be "based on interviews with retailers, distributors, and manufacturers."

The reason why the sales are higher worldwide is because only in Japan is manga popular among grown, mature people. While outside of Japan, manga is like comics, and only children buy it(some adults as well, but very few, only a fraction or even less compared to japan). Children go by popularity rather than ratings.

One Piece is highly underrated and I pity anyone saying that Naruto or Bleach is best, since that's the only manga/anime that most of em actually watched.

Well I guess you're right, but for popularity's sake, Naruto, in more than 1 occassion is on top of the list. They usually used the Japan's sales because that's where the creator got his money.
As I've said before, the most popular anime isn't always on top. It may changed from time to time.

As I have looked on this website, as I have found that One Piece has over 55 million+ in sales, while Naruto (2nd on the list) having only 12m in sales.

That information was already provided by me in one of the earlier posts. The sales are from Japan only. It's not worldwide. But I would like to see the Sale NUMBERS from worldwide, to see the difference.

Sorry, data I just get is the rank, the manga title and the publisher. There's no figures (sales) detailed. As far as I remember, Naruto is always on top of the list even before and I don't have the links anymore only the recent one.

Compare the Discussion threads for Naruto chapters and One Piece chapters. All you see in One Piece chapter discussion is everyone arguing about how awesome the chapter was. Lot of joy and stuff. On the other hand, Naruto discussion, several pages of spam, arguing about one character or one technique. Shitloads of threads about who is stronger, which always end in a flame wars. Signs of immaturity everywhere.
