Itachi‘s failures as a brother and a shinobi (not talking about intelligence or abilities)

This whole mess started with Itachi not fully committing to a mission he took upon himself, sure the elders gave him the orders, but it was his decision to obey or not.

He ended up doing a half job which resulted in ruining Sasuke’s life. Sasuke would have found peace if his life ended the night of the massacre, because then he wouldn’t have carried the extreme amount of hate he has now. You might say he couldn’t make himself kill his beloved little brother, which might have had some merit if he didn’t just murder his entire clan, his mother and father included. Itachi was willing to kill for his ideology and leaders, so him not completing the task was selfish and it obviously came back to haunt him and the entire shinobi alliance.

The remainings of itachi’s life was focused on redeeming himself, by making sure Sasuke was strong enough to not only kill him, but also move on with his life after carrying such a big burden. Itachi’s methods were also questionable here, because he actually made sasuke more miserable by constantly mocking and humiliating him just so Sasuke’s hate could grow(with powers).Very counterproductive, because this also removed Sasuke from the love and appreciation he received from the village, and more importantly Team 7.

The only one who could/would tell Sasuke about the massacre was madara. Itachi knew that, but obviously he couldn’t take down madara, so he decided to keep an eye on him and keep him in check, which at best was a temporarely solution .When he died, his worst nightmare happened and sasuke got picked up by madara, and itachi’s desperate attempt at stopping madara(the strongest uchiha in history)with sasuke’s eyes failed yet again.I don’t think itachi thought this long, but rather put the ameterasu as an extra guarantee otherwise he would’ve thought of something better.

Finally, the last chance to help/manipulate sasuke into joining the good side failed with shisui’s eye getting exposed used against a zombie version of itachi. This was his last resort, and sasuke’s destiny is for always out of itachi’s hands, hence the failure as not just a shinobi but a brother. He now has to rely on other folks to do what he himself couldn’t. Action speaks louder than words, and itachi’s good intentions doesn’t change the events which occured.

WTF!!! Itachi isn't a failure...........
He did almost everything he could do and he said in the recent manga that he had to do something for sasuke with his death that is unrelieved, so just be quiet about Itachi's thinking or I 'll go hard on you.........................

In my 3 days in this forums , I want to tell you the something that I noticed is a trend here : Itachi is tiers above Chuck Norris in this forums , He can defeat every shinobi just by looking in his eyes , even Goku runs when he sees him :p

That's what most of the forum see Itachi as ( Yes , he is very strong , but he has his limits ) , your opinion is good & I see him as a direct reason for Sasuke's miserable life.Itachi was a great shinobi to think and sacrifice himself for the village , but someone who puts his brother through this hell isn't a good brother.(although he wanted to help, the reality is he failed , thanks to Madara & Kabuto)

N.B Prepare to be flamed , for the reason I stated above. ;)

i know, but trying to knock sense into peope who lives to suck off itachi, when the manga clealy states itachi's many failures.Again not talking about his abilties.

since almost everyone here know itachi is a great ninja and brother
you're in a denial and tell how itachi is a good brother?

itachi’s desperate attempt at stopping madara(the strongest uchiha in history)with sasuke’s eyes failed yet again.
First of all, Itachi was a hero because the Uchiha clan wanted to take over Komo, but he stopped it, even tho he had to kill everyone. He knew what was war like and he feared it, so he did what he had to do in order to achieve peace. He took on an unimaginable weight on his shoulders, like no man would ever do. If he would of refused, either way his family would of been killed in the war, and what good would that make?

Failure as a brother? What manga have you been reading? Itachi wanted him to become strong, and to protect him, not having leaving him experience war like he did himself. Your not even making sense, do you live in the 3rd World or something? Itachi never attempted to kill Madara, he wanted to fulfill Sasuke's revenge, and have Sasuke go back to the village. Worst nightmare? what are you talking about? And what do you mean by the strongest uchiha? He's a mestermind but he's not the strongest. The strongest eye technique lays in Shisui's eye, imo. Get your thoughts right, and come back, because this hurts my eyes reading it.

I support this person. I agree with your arguments and i honestly think it would've been better to kill Sasuke during the Uchiha Massacre. Even without using hindsight, it's obvious that Sasuke was far to loyal and loving regarding his clan, he would never move on.
