When he hurt Sakura, he wasn't in control of himself. If he is in control he is not a danger to others. Both Gaara and the 8 tails, while in control were not a danger. It is when they risk losing themselves to the Bijou that they endanger others, and likely become weaker by trading intellect for pure power. I believe that the Bijou Tobi and Deidara got was not a Jinchuurikii, and it was stated that that made it easier to defeat it, since it had no master to control the power.
I don't think sage training itself will make him wiser; rather, I think it will be a growing up during the experience with Pa frog, Gamakichi, and perhaps others. Pa frog certainly seems to be into that given that he's giving Naruto Jiraiya's first book. I think he gave him that book for more than just inspiration, there's material in it that will be critical to his development. Pa frog is in it to strengthen both Naruto's mind and body. Kakashi and Yamato tried less to explain to Naruto (they kind of gave up), while Gamakichi and Pa toad are making sure he gets it. I wonder if this is a book Jiraiya wrote before the one he gave Minato or the same one.
I hope the next chapters answer some, but not all (I need some mystery), questions about Naruto's lineage. People should discuss what questions should be answered very soon, and which ones should be left open for later perhaps.
The other reason people believe Naruto will get a second element is to combat Sasuke who has fire and thunder. Naruto has wind, but giving him water is too one-sided in my opinion. Earth is weaker than thunder, so there's parity.
Tsunade should be a good fight against Konan. Konan can break herself apart into pieces of paper, which would be a good defense against Taijutsu. I do think she has more than what was shown so far, so while she has been weak so far, our opinion of her is likely to change once Pein and Konan make it to Konoha. I'd rather see her be a badass fighter than some one-trick pony with great Taijutsu.

sup... you mean naruto without kyuubi's power (1-3 tail)? your right anbu can overpower naruto without kyuubi's power, anbu are well trained spy and assassins. but i don't if they can stop hi wind rasengan (can't remember the name, when he fought kakuzu).
i dont know about sakura (medical, power punch, anti-gen) against naruto (1000 clones with rasengan)
i think naruto needs to fight wisely and smartly, and i think if he can control his mini kyuubi (4th tail) is good enough to be a hokage level when he almost killed j-man with it and beat oro with it.

Which brings up the point how in the hell did Sasuke out the 8 tails with just Ameratsu when Naruto almost killed two separate Sannin at 4 tails? I don't mind since it allows the story to progress hopefully.
about this... just a quick question. remember when naruto was fighting neji in the chunin exam and naruto burrowed under ground and ended up popping out of the ground to beat neji? was that considered an earth technique? if it is then i think he has demonstrated some affinity with earth.
then of course the argument for water is mostly based on his name and the information about his mother being from the whirlpool country.
could go either way... or i should say ANY way kishi wants... naruto's the drug and kishi's the dealer, we'll take anything he gives us. i'd still like to see him learn water 'cause it's my favorite
thats a very good questions... is sasuke that powerful to beat 8tailed beast with his amet fire? while naruto at 4tail beat j-man and oro? or maybe the 8tailed is slow for sasuke? then i guess the only thing naruto can avoid sasuke's amet fire is a "megasuper speed" (4th hokage style). and if naruto can avoid it, then sasuke is useless to him and he will just b%*&h slap him.

but if its
wind + fire - lightning + fire = a more interesting fight because sasuke has the amaterasu fire or
wind + lightning - lightning + fire = odd but still interesting
i dont think when naruto dug his way under neji is classed as a jutsu because if you look at his hands after his nails and fingers are bleeding unlike kakashi or kabuto when they do it. but it is still a posibility.

Anyone who is worried naruto would lose is wrong. unless naruto doesnt realize or anyone else tell him about the full potential of his ability to exponentially train faster.

if he trained, speed, power, witts, and other things then no one would EVER even be able to touch him
I wonder if thats how the 4th became the "flash" he became SO FAST from his training methods that people thought he could teleport maybe?
I want to see naruto be faster than anyone god that would be amazing but i bet the author wont do it because it would make the story too easy with naruto being an ultimate ninja. ( probably why he made naruto a dumbass so he couldnt realize how much he could become)

1) its not gonna be hard to out think him but it is hard to predict what he is gonna do. thats why they call him the most unpredictable shinobi.
2) the reason i didnt put naruto vs orochimaru was besause
A. orochimaru didnt really fight he just got beat the crap out of. even using his best weapon and greatest defence
B. i forgot
3) that rasenshurikan made it on my list because of how powerful it was.
4)i think he sould be able to do that fox thing on demand to. but he doesnt want to do it anymore because of sakura

2nd. the third hokage beat the first and second at the same time when hes was old and weak

the first beat madara and madara was considered the best uchiha.
sasuke will be more powerful than madara and itachi gave sasuke all of his eye techs so given that advantage i think sasuke will be better than itachi. but i doubt he will be better than naruto will be; and naruto has a handicap seeing that he doesnt have that "copy your jutsu by looking at it" jutsu

- the 4th hokage was stated as the most talented one. They never said he was the best.
- the 3th hokage defeated orochimaru;s jitsu allright by sealing the souls of orochimaru;s men (the sacrifices). Do you really think we saw the true power of the 1st and 2nd hokage in that battle? They didn't even use senjitsu or ninja scrolls. The first used several ninja scrolls and controled several bijou;s. I think the 3rd is the weakest of all the hokages, especially when he was at age. Due to his age his chakra level and stamina are low.
- the 1st defeated madara allright. But madara defeated the 4th by sending kyuubi. So bye bye to your theory.
-In the end sasuke will be stronger then naruto in terms of jitsus. But we all know that that is not what being strong really means. It;s the will to protect the ones you care about. even if the odds are against you. SO call it the will of fire or extreme determination.

Yes they did say he was the best shinobi konoha every produced.He is the flsh because he can teleport using specail kunai or a marker thats taged when he touches that object.
i think not. sasuke lose to lee with the sharingan. sasuke wasn't able to avoid naruto punch when he were under the power of kyubi. now you'll tell that sasukes sharingan as improved, is true, but that techique is S-rank or so. it's too fast. or in a sharingan vs flying thunder god battle, no one wins xD

Sasuke commented that with his full Sharingan he could see Naruto's physical movements, but he could not anticipate/predict the one-tail chakra that was actually hitting him. I'm sure Sasuke can copy moves, he just hasn't shown it. I bet he copied Chidori initially or at least some of it.
