yes itachi is truely too powerful... think bout it.. out of every encounter with him he neevr used his full potential nor did he have to.. he only made it seem like he was fightin sasuke added on with his extreme illness he needed medicine jus to keep him alive.. i mean even with jiraiya he told kisame that they wud both die.. and jiraiya was able to take on pain and tells me that itachi cud easily do it if he wanted to.. to me there is no equal to itachi is abilities and skill level is jus wayyyy too high for any1 and for people to say that sasuke is a match for him is truely a joke.. sasuke is a match for naruto thats like sayin naruto is a match for itachi HAHAHAHA what a laugh

Itachi and Minato acted quite responsibly and tried to plan it out and ease the burden and help the next generation as much as they could . they are my favourite characters...I love the way we came to know more and more about them in bits and the more we find out the more we respect them. Nagato made sacrifices himself and tried to make up for his mistakes as far as he could.

there is one I would put above him: Minato

and one next to him: Nagato

i dont think madara meant that itachi could have killed him if he attacked konoha. i think he meant that if he tried to itachi would inform konoha of the threat and would do all he could to stop him. also, i think you made a few assumptions about his power. for example, you talked about leaving jiraiya in a cold sweat. however, it could also be put like this, jiraiya wasn't even going all out and itachi still had to use his mangekyo sharingan ability of amaterasu to escape him, not win, just escape. still, i agree that itachi was definitely one of the strongest ninja of his time, not THE strongest, but one of them.

Itachi was the strongest shinobi around and could have pawned anyone (except soap of course). I truly believe no one could have defeated him unless they were from his bloodline and he knew that.
