I don't think so, as long as the target doesn't move left and right he should be able to lock on to them and suck them within seconds. You could say it's similar to Ametarasu where the user has to have the target in front of him, but once he starts moving he'll have to wait for him to stand still to use it succesfully.

But he sucked up pain's rocket that was aiming at choji while it was moving...and sasuke's arrow that was soooooo fast ...what do you say!
not when it is in front of his face. he suck in susanoo arrow less than a second. but i think it is harer and slower from afar.(deidara) so far he only did it quik when it is smack dab in his face lol

He's become much faster than earlier in Shippuden. He had an extremely hard time trying to aim for Deidara's head at the beginning of the series, but later on he warps away Pain's high speed nail attack on him, the bullet for Chouji, and Sasuke's susano'os arrow. He's pretty blazing with it now.

I forgot to mention that part, since they moved in a straight line they could be locked on to easily, it's only if they move left and right is when it gets difficult.

i was saying that all he had 2 do was make a small vortex in front of his face and tthe arrow and rocket would just go in it without having 2 lock on. another question how far was deidara and what were his movements?

The only problem with Kamui is that it consumes lots of chakra and that the main weakness of Kakashi.
Also, when he needs to use it on defensive mode, he does it in a blink as Sharingan permits him to depict motion.
But in offense, as the user tries to resist by escaping continuously, it's much more difficult.
It's very much similar to Amaterasu. Sasuke uses it so effectively and quickly for defense with Susano'o but when he needs to strike someone directly, it's much more difficult. They are two great techs but that's definitely better in defense for now.
