How do you think he was defeated, or how would you attempt to defeat him?

I'm sure Madara could avoid Mind Transfer Justu without much effort.
Fuu tried it in fact but Madara phased through the ground and evaded it easily.

ummm idon't know but i think Sasuke want's to do that, like defeating orochimaru, Sasuke use orochimaru to learn many jutsus and and when he learned he kill orochimaru (Sasuke wants Itachi's eye when he get those he kill Madara)

To use the FTG he would need to learn the seals/marking formula, but it would be sweet. Only person I've seen use anything are reverse summonings, and A's assistant when she teleported the amber sealing pot.

Yeah I think he also knew that Orochimaru was one of the Sannin and wanted a good teacher. Acting like Naruto and Jirya IMO. But only kishi knows.
