To the Genjutsu thing, Kisame's sword is alive so it prevents him from genjutsu.

Kisame vs Itachi would be nice.

And to what happened to Kisame's sword, Bee picks it up because the sword likes him.

I think that Gai is the only one who can beat/counter Kisame. You see, Kisame's ultimate feeds on chakra. So whatever jutsu you use against it will be useless. Gai's ultimate on the other hand does not use chakra whatsoever. That's where Kisame caught off guard and hence, lose to Gai. Afterwards, he ran away from battle to save his intel. Too bad our hero Naruto was there to stop him. So he used one of his shark jutsu to send his intel report to Madara, which became successful, then committed suicide afterwards.

It's not been said if the sword prevents him from genjutsu, so to those who are using that as a reason, no it's not a reason Kisame would win(and if it has been said that his sword stops genjutsu, then I don't remember reading it so link me to the chapter), because we have no clue, all we know is Kisame respected Itachi as a very strong ninja and wouldn't dare cross him. It's hard to say who'd win but due to the amount of respect Kisame had for him and the fact Kisame killed his friends and partners before and yet not Itachi kind of shows he might have feared dying against him as well. Just my thoughts

and to the guy way above who asked about if Kisame has the Samehade now, no Killer Bee is the current wielder. (Kisame got rejected by the samehade then later committed suicide

I use to be the same way but filers force me to get my Naruto fill from the Manga. I did not mind at all so then I did inuyasha last chapter on manga. I really don't mind the manga at all any more I may do the same for Bleach.

Ok for starters: Kisame is definitely dead, for anyone who may still have been wondering. Second, the manga is the actual story that the anime is based on. Think of it like the Harry Potter movies. The Goblet Of Fire was a massive book, that they cut all to sh!t with the movie. There was so much missing it wasn't even funny. The same has been generally the case with Naruto in the past. There are parts of the Manga not used in the Anime, but with every story (That's actually decent) every little detail matters. The author just doesn't throw in fillers like in the anime, EVERYTHING means something, and is there for a purpose.

No...kisame wasn't dead..he was merged by Samehada..A and B kill Kisame's clone that made by Zetsu..Kisame later commit suicide after he was defeated by Mighty Guy in the waterfall of truth

well ok stay in praistory but manga is way ahead of anime and you will finish anime when you get grandkids and its easier just to watch both manga to see whats happening and anime to see how is it in video.
