Update on the plants:

Based on information provided by Japanese authorities, the IAEA can confirm the following information about the status of Units 1, 2 and 3 at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Unit 1 is being powered by mobile power generators on site, and work continues to restore power to the plant. There is currently no power via off-site power supply or backup diesel generators being provided to the plant. Seawater and boron are being injected into the reactor vessel to cool the reactor. Due to the explosion on 12 March, the containment building has been lost.

Unit 2 is being powered by mobile power generators on site, and work continues to restore power to the plant. There is currently neither off-site power supply nor backup diesel generators providing power to the plant. The reactor core is being cooled through reactor core isolation cooling, a procedure used to remove heat from the core. The current reactor water level is lower than normal but remains steady. The containment building is intact at Unit 2.

Unit 3 does not have off-site power supply nor backup diesel generators providing power to the plant. As the high pressure injection system and other attempts to cool the reactor core have failed, injection of water and boron into the reactor vessel has commenced. Water levels inside the reactor vessel increased steadily for a certain amount of time but readings indicating the water level inside the pressure vessel are no longer showing an increase. The reason behind this is unknown at this point in time. To relieve pressure, venting of the containment started on 13 March at 9:20AM local Japan time. Planning is underway to reduce the concentration of hydrogen inside the containment building. The containment building is intact at Unit 3.

They would most likely never do a Anime or Manga on it but a video game is a great idea..Not to rub it in their faces..Rather to help kids prepare for such disasters:) As far as what is out now though, Well except for the nuclear thing there is 2 games that may compare to this and both is for PS2..Disaster Report and Raw Danger (aka Disaster Report 2) The diffrence is in Disaster Report 1 it was all being caused purposely by a corrupt leader by massive underground drilling to make the island unstable (basically they created a GIANT sink hole type scenario) This takes place in Tokyo (renamed Capital City and the area is renamed Stiver Island possibly to avoid a law suit from Tokyo)..In Disaster Report 2 (Raw Danger) it is all natural (a flood caused by a never ending rain and snow storm)This takes place in GeoCity (a futuristic city which I have yet to determine what real city it is based on) The odd thing is they also wanted to throw in some corruptness here too (even though Mother Nature is doing more than enough already in this game)..In Raw Danger the city's mayor is spreading a deadly super virus around to create havoc as pay back for something done to him and his family years ago by it. Both of these games could very well help you survive a Earth quake and Tsunami as well provided you weren't swept away or crushed in the rubble..If you haven't played these 2 games you need to.

Also if you are in Asia there is more sequels of Disaster Report on the way that were not planned to be released in the U.S.A. though I do not know when now due to these tragic events going on now. :(

It appears most people in the Anime/Manga industry are fine despite all this but it will be a LONG time before anyone can expect their work again.

For live news on Japan go here:

Best source as it is all Japanese and in English.

More bad news on Japan, There is now a 6.4 quake going on in Yokohama. Seems this stuff will go on for 2 weeks before it's all said and done.

Japanese English news has been nothing but reruns, Hasn't even reported this morning's earth quake at Yokohama prefecture yet. I had to watch Japanese NHK because for some odd reason the English NHK was down for 7 hours on UStream and that is when I saw the earth quake in Yokohama..When they report it on the English one I'll give some data..If you know Japanese by all means go here and watch:

TBS:

The latest on Fukushima:

Fuel rods damage at Fukushima's 2 reactors estimated at 70%, 33%

Tokyo AP:

An estimated 70 percent of the nuclear fuel rods have been damaged at the troubled No. 1 reactor of the Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant and 33 percent at the No. 2 reactor, Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Wednesday.

The reactors' cores are believed to have partially melted with their cooling functions lost after Friday's magnitude 9.0 earthquake rocked Fukushima Prefecture and other areas in northeastern and eastern Japan.

Took a nap earlier but here is some news.

The fire is the 3rd reactor and smoke continues to pour from it.

Temperature is rising in the spent fuel pool and radiation reached a leakage of 10139 miliseevers (5000 is fatal) leading to 70 workers evacuated, then it dropped to 1360, and finally leveled out at 596 so the 70 workers was ordered back to plant, They are clearing away debris from the 2 days ago explosion and a Japanese air force chopper is dumping water onto it.

U.S. surgeon general advised Americans to prepare for fallout.

Update: Japan air force ABORTS the chopper dumping water on reactor 3..It's not safe enough to try this. Reactor continues to smoke.

We need feed back from Japanese members here if we have any.
