It seems very plausible, Tobi would have to be someone who knew the jinchuriki was going into child birth

or he could have had zetsu spying on the naruto's mom and waiting for a moment to act on his plan. i doubt sasuke father is really tobi, especially due to the fact that both sasukes parents were killed by itachi and sasuke saw their bodies. so if his father really was tobi it wouldnt make sense . also at the time orochimaru was part of the akatsuki, so its very possible that madara had orochimaru send in a spy that constantly informed him of naruto's moms progress.

Yes, yes and Sasuke was such a great ninja at that time that there's NO WAY he could be caught in genjutsu by the BEST genjutsu user of (ALL?) that time, who btw alerady had learned Tsukyoumi.

Im not agreeing with this theory but im just saying that we can't base our facts on what some kid saw that night because he could be easily caught in a genjutsu by Itachi. For obvious reasons.

I want to start by saying I dont think Sasukes dad is Tobi, but.....isnt it POSSIBLE that when Tobi revealed his face to Sasuke that he had done a jutsu to look different? That kind of jutsu is common.

Pretty sure plans of a coup was after 9 tails attacking village. Probably because after this incident people were even more suspect of Uchiha clan. Things then escalated to the coup plans and Itachi incident.

Yes, that's why Kishimoto showed us a pic of Itachi with Sasuke, talking about their parents absence. Totally random stuff not related anyhow to the coup de tat (or w/e it's spelled). It's always a good thing to put up random, non-relevent stuff in the already short manga.
