Excuse me? To say "1st of all dis is not grammar class its a naruto forum...right so i don't think i am being graded on my grammar so shut up about dat." just proves to me how ILLOGICAL YOU ARE. Just because you aren't being tested or graded on something doesn't mean you should be lax about it - in other words, just because there will be no consequences for an action at a certain point in time doesn't mean I shouldn't put an effort to employ it in the most efficent way possible. You should strive for the top always, that way, you know you did your best no matter what. Moving on... all the text you underlined...that is opinion based on FACT so obvious I don't even need to cite manga chapters...BUT I CAN DO THAT IF YOU WANT ME TOO. Why do I say "Sasuke is emotionless" - that is because when NAruto confronted him in tears, Sasuke did not twitch. Why do I say "Sasuke is in for revenge" - do I need to explain myself here? It is such an obvious statement that even you acknowledged it yourself. My opinion is based on Sasuke being emotionless and in for revenge (which are facts). Thanks & Have a seat.

As sagacious as I am, doesn't mean I have to conduct myself as such. It's a choice (just like Shikamaru). Now if you would like to post without any grammatical errors then that is up to
you. Now that we are finished with English class... do u mind if I stand from da seat u offered( if u do I don't care) 1st let me site his (sasuke) emotions dat u say don't exist 307 pg 9-11....I could site others but u will get da point (i hope)...but u say I'm da illogical 1... let's look at it sasuke is in it for revenge I agree with dat...but Q: y is he in it for revenge... A: because of his emotions. With dis said, u saying sasuke is "emotionless" is in "fact" opinion. Now I will take my seat, cause u and ur sly comments imo have ben dismantled

People Disagree with his motives, Personally I love his character outline, Someone turned evil consumed by hatred. My Theory: Some people always like the heroes of the story and always grew up hating the bad guys (Basically what American TV portrays.)So when a character like Sasuke is in the story they have a natural habit of choosing Naruto or anyone that has a good nature/intentions (ex. Itachi ) over him. Hence the numerous amount of Sasuke Haters :p EDIT: But this isnt always true, there are some Bad characters that even good people love. Sasuke just isn't one of them The less Sasuke lovers the best

I agree

To tell you the truth I hate him because he could have done something else than having revenge on someone and dosent even care about anyone, I mean he could have been friends with the other rookies and face Itachi (or whoever) together that will make things easier and 12 is better than 1 and also because he is a spoiled brat(No offense on Sasuke fans)

Use some logic please.
Up until now, Sasuke has a personality. CORRECT? Yes. Therefore ther eis room to either love or hate Sasuke. CORRECT? YES. Therefore, do not try to FORCE your reason for liking Sasuke on others because we have our reasons for HATING the character.

If you read any book or watch any movie... there are always going to be people you like vs. people you DONT like. Producers DREAM to get people that into something to the point where the person actually develops a liking or a hatred toward a certain character - that means they did a great job. Kishi is pro at this. IF Kishis didn't develop Sasuke so well... a lot of ppl wouldn't hate him (Sasuke) or like him (Sasuke)... they just would be like "meh" its just another person. BUT NO. You have people liking him (Sasuke) and you have people hating him (Sasuke). If you don't understand that point... no need to argue with me.

The guy sitting next to me may think a certain character is HOT, I may think not.

Same thing here...apply that LOGIC here. You may LIKE SASUKE for WHATEVER REASON. HOWEVER, I also may NOT LIKE him for WHATEVER REASON.

I will be nice and share with you why I do not like Sasuke (even though I do not need to do that).

- SO FAR - he is emotionless...
- His desire for revenge is causing me to hate him. I believe "an eye for a eye makes the whole world blind" - Ghandi... Sasuke's need for revenge does not make me like him - it makes me think he is a cruel character. And before you go there, I also believe that those who did harm to the Uchiha clan is cruel as well.

and By the way - this is MY OPINION - don't take it from me - you can't. YOu can SHARE it or you can DISAGREE with it.

Ultimately, my point is, do not try to change someone's opinion on something. I hate Sasuke...you love Sasuke.

let's leave it at that.

Well clearly you either misconstrued my post entirely or you simply did not read it completely but in no way am I forcing anyone to like Sasuke. Taken from my original post:

Now don’t get me wrong as I am not saying don’t hate on the contrary dislike to your heart's content however attempt to act like a civilized adult.

You state "SO FAR - he is emotionless" however is hatred not an emotion? What about in his last fights, did he not act out what seemed to be mentally unstable, sadistically shouting and eerie laughing? An "emotionless" person would be an impassive individual. I will say that it may seem at times he is apathetic; he with no warning however, can become unstable, malignant and ruthless or in other words he is also very capable of unleashing emotion as well, be it negative or what not.

In my honest opinion, to understand a character like Sasuke is to travel all the way to the past when his brother chose the decision to propel his younger brother into a life of vengeance. I mean, Nagato viewed his parent’s death only once and it was a pain he could never forget in which turned him into the psycho he later on became. However, in Sasuke’s case he viewed it for twenty four hours over and over. Revenge was then engraved into his mind. He even had a second dose after Itachi’s return to Konoha in which left his mind temporarily broken and with the words "your still weak" from the killer of his clan. He viewed Naruto’s increase in power and he was confronted by the sound four and their power was enough to tempt him to follow Orochimaru. He then left in search of the quick fix power ups to hasten his goal to completion. In my opinion, had Sasuke not been plagued with this path that not only his brother played a heavy role in but also the interventions of Orochimaru/Madara may he have led a life of training for everything he obtained and developed into a young adult without that obsessive vengeful drive. My reasoning for this is due to the first time when Orochimaru met Sasuke in the forest of death. Sasuke was losing that drive and Orochimaru reinstated it with temptation for more power.

I do not love Sasuke the character though I do acknowledge his character and I do support/favor his character but I also can see his actions some unjust and some justified in his own eyes. We are all entitled to our opinion which I was always for and not against it as you so claimed.

Let me point out a couple crucial aspects of my concept.

Firstly, I never said I do not understand Sasuke's character. I understand it very well. However, my definition of what hatred is does not follow your definition. You state that hatred comes from emotions... I think of it as more than that. Hatred is the extreme effect of negative emotion and since it is the extreme, one can consider it to be an entirely different entity. Just as love is more than emotions, think of hate in the opposite way - an element that is less than emotions. I would feel angry, enraged, but hate? Like they say "Hate is a strong word."

Naruto has confronted Sasuke. Naruto tried to convince Sasuke to change his ways. If Sasuke did indeed have emotions as you so nicely put, then Sasuke would feel something. However, he did not. Therefore his hatred and need for revenge is strong to the point where he will not cry when confronted with extreme sorrow, he will not rejoice when confronted with extreme joy...etc...

How can one say that what you feel is sadness if you claim that you don't feel joy? Since sadness is the opposite of joy - in order to be able to say "I feel sad about this and this" you must have first said "I feel joyful about this and this." Otherwise, you would not be able to disinguish between the two.

Second point: Need for revenge.
Not many people seem to have difficulty grasping why I HATE (yes, I HATE) Sasuke because of this point above. Most of you agree with me here. But some of you enjoy this character, while others dislike it (just like myself).
IF my family was massacred the way Sasuke's family was, I would not turn into the people who did that to my family - I would not turn into one of them. I would know that my family would have wanted me to turn out to be a better person - understand the right from wrong.

Sasuke enjoys the "eye for an eye" business. I don't.

You have a problem with that? Cry me a river.

Dismantled eh? Nice try, but this conversation is not over.

Remember very well that I have made it clear why I hate Sasuke... but I will repeat myself for the nth time, as by the looks of it, it takes you a while to process the information.

I said no matter the reason for Sasuke going on his trip for revenge, I will hate him because he chose that path. "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" - Ghandi.

Ghandi doesn't say "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind EXCEPT FOR..." - he never said that.

Bottom line is:
I hate Sasuke because he is in this for revenge.
You love Sasuke because he is in this for revenge.

Again, have a seat.

1. well if u want to look at it that way i will (i don't think like dat but...), what i'm getting from what u r saying is once u get to hate or love the emotions stops but in order to hate u have to have a constant line of "negative emotion" to maintain said hate...(would u agree?) with dat said the emotions still exist...so he can't be "emotionless"

2. again just cause u don't show it don't mean its not there... "Otherwise, you would not be able to disinguish between the two." as long as u knew joy before, u won't forget it, meaning just because i don't feel joy right now don't mean i never knew what it was.

3. I agreed with u on dis. (about ur hate for him)

4. "Remember very well that I have made it clear why I hate Sasuke..." yes u did..."I said no matter the reason for Sasuke going on his trip for revenge, I will hate him because he chose that path. "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" - Ghandi." yes u did...s/n if u look at dis it is a contradiction towards your self "hate for hate" is dat not da same as an "eye for an eye"?..but dats not here nor there but i said nothing of u hate'n sasuke because of dis what i was saying is "- SO FAR - he is emotionless.." is opinon and ("Use some logic please") sound logic is not based on opinon it is based on fact, here is da definition of logic logic is the science that investigates the principles governing correct or reliable inference. witch means dat logic is based on truth...looks like i'm not the only one to process information slowly.

5. wrong i like sasuke because he is a beast fighter, not for his revenge

this can be said of naruto too..
- he cries all the time.
-his love for another guy is exceptional strong
-he cant get over sasuke
-needs his life saved over and over again by 9 tails
-trains a little but only with the power of the fox has he achieved so much
-started hyperventilating during flash backs..(seriously who besides naruto in any manga hyperventilates thinking about another guy??)

but anwaise. i like both naruto AND sasuke. Kishimoto does a GREAT job showing opposites in a manga.

Did I ever say that I like Naruto himself though?
He's better than Sasuke sure, but not by much.
After all, he's also over emotional, a trait that should be cleansed from the world.

My opinion is based on factual piece of information found in the manga. Sasuke has stated that he is in it for revenge, he has acted upon this principle and I hate him because of that. This is not made up crap. It is evidence.

You said "I like sasuke because he is a beast fighter, not for his revenge." That is purely opinionated. What classifies a ninja as a "beast fighter" ? Hmm?

I may believe that Naruto or Tsunade are beast fighters and I have my reasons for that. You think Sasuke is a beast fighter and you have a reason for that as well.

My point is, you have just proven that this whole thing is based on OPINION.

I do not think Sasuke is a beast fighter. I think Naruto is a beast fighter.

What is the definition of a beast fighter...there is no defintion. THERE IS NO DEFINTIVE ANSWER FOR "beast fighter" because it is RELATIVE to the person using it.

Since there is no collective definition for "beast fighter" it is personal. I may base it on a different criteria than what you base it on.
Everyone has a different ranking scheme.

Try harder next time.

Not everyone is Sasuke or yourself. Don't try placing assumptions on others and don't generalize. Everyone is different in mind, body and soul.

Don't say "you would want revenge too won't you, ...you're walking down the street.... YOU Notice blood..."

YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU... THATS ALL YOU SAY ISN'T IT?
Yet you don't know me...Talk about yourself please. thanks.

Say "I would want revenge ...if I was walking down the street....I notice blood..."

BECAUSE REALLY... only you know what you would do in that situation and HELL... you don't kow ANYTHING about who I am or what I would do in that situation, so don't place me under that group. OK?

on ur 2nd post he asked u to imagine yourself in sasuke's shoes (man u will say anything to try to sound right)

Beast fighter is relative.

I may think someone is a beast fighter because they show me that they have the will to suvive.

Someone else may think a beast fighter is someone who can kill another person in seconds.

IT is RELATIVE.

Again, you fail.

Firstly let us define the word emotion.

e•mo•tion
[ih-moh-shuhn]
-noun

•An affective state of consciousness in which joy, sorrow, fear, hate, or the like, is experienced, as distinguished from cognitive and volitional states of consciousness.

• Any of the feelings of joy, sorrow, fear, hate, love, etc.

• Any strong agitation of the feelings actuated by experiencing love, hate, fear, etc., and usually accompanied by certain physiological changes, as increased heartbeat or respiration, and often overt manifestation, as crying or shaking.

With that said I think we can comprehend that the word emotion pertains to the feeling hate alongside all of the said feelings. I suppose others may think of it as more or define it differently which is to be expected but I didn’t think it would hurt to correct those who deem the character Sasuke as emotionless because hate is in fact an emotion.

You stated that during Naruto’s confrontation that Sasuke didn't feel anything implying he was emotionless as a factual statement when it would be impossible to confirm this – unless of course you yourself would be Kishimoto, his staff / advisors, etc. I cannot claim he did or did not as fact but perhaps if he did feel something and I base this because when he angrily asked Naruto why he pursued him so far and Naruto answered him, he seemed dumbfounded to say the least – which is something that shouldn’t impact a completely emotionless person in my opinion. Perhaps Sasuke feels as if he has went to far to turn back and might even think changing is impossible.

My thoughts regarding your loathing of the character for seeking revenge is that I see it as ignorant. You have stated something in which it would be impossible to say with complete certainty. I cannot claim that I wouldn’t want revenge if I were in Sasuke’s shoes because I would stating something while not having any emotional stress impacting my process of thought – in others words making rational decisions. If I were to find myself in Sasuke’s position following my family / clan’s massacre and being tormented about it by my very own brother I would probably find myself heavily distraught and most likely would have a different set of mind from when I was perfectly sane and rational.

Just because you and another may have different values and beliefs doesn’t mean you can’t come to a conclusion and respect one another.

I don’t think you completely realize that Sasuke was able to choose his path without any sort of interference. I personally think you should re-direct your hate to Itachi / Orochimaru / Madara for manipulating and basically pushing him on his path. If I’m not mistaken Itachi stated Sasuke was something like a blank canvas and can be easily painted any color which is the truth seeing as he was the first one to "paint" a color.

On certain instances and I can side with the whole “eye for an eye” concept but not always and one should know that obviously the rest of the world will have their own viewpoints. On some cases people follow that principle accordingly -- Treat others as you would like to be treated. If you do something bad, the punishment should be equal to the crime or so to speak.

There are many murderers who will murder again if they are allowed to wander free even if they've been in jail for years. Jail isn't that much of a deterrent for them. If there is absolutely no doubt that the person is a murderer then the person is usually be punished be it death for another fitting punishment. If an eye for an eye isn’t practiced then the death penalty or even war wouldn’t exist.

Don’t get me wrong though, I complete understand what you are trying to say and I acknowledge it.

Sasuke punishment marriage to Sakura till death do them part. Would that be cruel and unusual punishment for His crimes?

How about Sasuke Punishment marriage to Choji till death (and maybe after like even if he's summoned by impure summoning and what not). now that would be cruel as if he makes any money at all that would be taken pronto... *sniggles*. :p
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I don't think Sasuke is emotionless as he does have hate and a feel of revenge on his side. That does count as emotion. But its just a technicality. My guess is that the posters saying the contrary mean that as of late Sasuke pretty much stopped showing any other emotions (excluding maybe stupidity and being emo.- does that count?)

Writing in proper English is not a necessity here, its just that typing in those words correctly might help someone to understand what you are typing better, seeing as the web-site is not only for those whose main language is english, I know multiple people from India (my country) that read Naruto because its good but aren't really that well versed with English, so the half words that you write might confuse them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having said that my own views on the ACTUAL point of this thread.

I don't like Sasuke's character. period.

Reasons.

he's been an annoying prick, self-obsessed, stuck-up (on revenge and probably stupidity) and more or less being a complete dousche, a**hole, and d*ck all at once .- (he needs an award for this i guess).

He keeps saying that (as of late), that what he s doing is all in the memory of itachi. yet He's pretty much spitting on what Itachi told him NOT to do. Just because the 2 people of konoha are screw ups, doesn't really mean that all of citizens have to be killed. its kind of like the war in Iraq and Afghanisthan - (thankfuly the Americans I believe atleast are trying to avoid too many deaths of the afghan nationals that are not really terrorists), but anyhow you can see clearly that its been a failure anyway.

Sasuke is swayed to completely different sides with absolute ease. (though its pretty much only when the bad guy tries to give him ideas).
He hasn't really thought out much about WHY he's doing all this. Kinda like mind-less zombies. (heck even the actually mind-less zombies that kabutomaru summoned are questioning and debating and most if not all would have just quit if they could -except maybe Deidara since he just wants to fight , okay fine you can claim that they aren't mind-less as of now).

Also Sasuke gave out on his chance of Sakura -( a female who was obviously willing to do ANYTHING that he wanted) Hence the claim that he's gay.
I wouldn't really call him gay though as he hasn't (yet?) proposed to Naruto, and i got nthing agaisnt gays as i believe its their wish. (Also more women for us hehe, and also lesbos can be entertaining).

If you want more points as to why i Hate him, there's abviously more, such as -

his style of dressing sucks, I would have thought a shinobi would dress to try and protect as much as he can while having good mobility and flexibility (see the stye of the Jounins such as Kakashi/ Shikamaru).

He's into snakes which kinda sucks in my head. Atleast Oro was brainy and you could say he atleast looked like one, also Oro had something to do with white snakes, which isn't completely clear except for the parents part in the Manga (or could be Anime but I belive it was manga). Also oro was brainy and had a large base pf other stuff also even though most of it was still quite slimy)

Sasuke does seem to get HUGE POWERUPS for free, for example the Mangekyu Sharingan and the Eternal Mangekyu Sharingan (EMS) and all that comes with it. Naruto atleast has trained a (for most of his skills) and suffered the pain (and is still suffering ) for stuff such as the 9-Tails.

Sasuke does not seem to require Energy, hate is more or less enough for him to survive.

his line of thought is more r less stupid. (he formed the group)- and yet he doesn't really use it for Fighting, just the scouting parts. ou could say that they were roped in to find Itachi but my guess is He could have just used some of the stuff Oro taught him. (if Oro never thought of Teaching him that then he could have just asked to be taught those before trying to assassinate Oro).

There are many many MANY more such reasons why I don't like him.

I call upon the MODS to close and then Delete this thread . (ALSO BURN IT UP AND THROW IT INTO SPACE IF YOU CAN) as the The thread starter doesn't really want to listen to any other Opiniions other than the ones that support his COMPLETELY.
This thread pretty much is a FLAME WAR THREAD. it was supposed to have been one to find the reason for it, but it mainly turned out to be just another avenue for the FLAME WARRIORS (That kinda sounds cool even though they - I guess including me, aren't, Don't claim you are, I don't give a sh*t). All of this coz of the thread Starter's inability to accept or atleast Ignore most of the opinions of other people, .

So in the hopes of keeping this web-site clean from the pollution of retards such as the thread starter, close this thread and delete it. If not Delete this thread and create another one with a change of name seeing as the Title is totally not apt as the thread has been called a discussion by black uchiha but it isn't atall a discussion seeing as black uchiha cannot take other people's opinions and just wants it to be one - sided. prolly change it to something like - "If you hate Sasuke, then tell my why and I'll Bash you, If you like what i said , then Hugs and kisses". (I was told that the Mods cannot change the title of the threads- that can be done just by the site owner - I think he's named Versuvio)

WOW, didn't realize the length of this , also what is it with you people and saying having a chair and taking a chair, grading etc. haven't you guys (and gals maybe) had enough with school/ college?
