Good - and yes, it would bypass those methods and they'd have to deal with Genjutsu instead of just shrugging it off. Anyway, seems you have a good understanding of it. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions on it.

(Inton: Gaki no Jutsu) - Yin Release: Hungry Ghost Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: N/A (+30)
Damage: N/A
Description: Hungry Ghost is a spiritual parasite created through the user’s Yin Release chakra. When using an elemental jutsu, the user will form the ram hand seal to seal the hungry ghost within their technique. Sealing the hungry ghost inside one’s technique happens within the same timeframe as their elemental technique. When the user’s technique clashes with another technique, the parasitic Yin Chakra will eat away at the chakra within the technique, weakening it by one rank. Once the hungry ghost consumes foreign chakra it is released and immediately attaches itself to the source of the foreign chakra (the opponent). From there, the parasite continues to eat away at the enemy’s chakra every time they use techniques (all techniques reduce in rank and power by 1 degree). Once the Hungry Ghost is released, its tether is immediate and cannot be blocked or circumvented by ordinary means. The effects of Hungry Ghost last for 4 turns.
Note: Can only be used 5 times per battle and cannot be used on the same target more than twice.
Note: Surges or Barriers that utilize Yin, Yang, Yin-Yang or Natural Energy can break or prevent the tethering of the Hungry Ghost.
Note: Yin Release Specialists and Yin-Yang users can use advanced elements and CE.
Note: Hungry Ghost can only be used on S-rank techniques and below.

Now I'm sure you've faced this tech before. A spiritual parasite that's used in the same timeframe as a technique - allows you to latch onto the opponent's opposing technique, reducing it by one rank. Additionally, it latches onto the opponent, reducing everything by 1 rank, for the next four turns. Can only be used twice on the same person, and Yin specialists can apply this to their CE and Advanced Elements. Questions?

first question would be who named these techniques? I assume reborn? gaki technically translates to child/kid/brat. im not aware of any other translations of gaki but i could be wrong.

Yes I have faced this before, I think? Its been a while.
some questions i can think of.
-Why is this classified as a Yin technique? aside from arbitrarily creating the technique and calling it Yin, what properties of this technique make it Yin Release? Looking at what Yin Release is, it doesnt look like anything that are Yin properties should really allow you to create a spiritual parasite. Imagination and creation, spiritual energy, mind, if anything, I think this would be a Yang tech, where it is physically eating/burning away an opponents chakra. especially the whole giving vitality to non-sentient entities, like making a parasite should be yang release.

Yea, it was Reborn iirc.

As for your question, it's more from a spiritual perspective while Yang is from a physical one. Yin and Yang are also considered two sides of the same coin, so a possible overlap does exist, depending on the ratio of Yin vs Yang chakra in it. It's not a physical parasite, but rather a spiritual one - but I do get where you're coming from. I always imagined it to be a little bit like Perona's Devil Fruit when I think of this tech - where a spiritual entity leeches the life from something leaving it weaker (though Hands of Sloth probably encompasses that more accurately). Yang also leans more into a burning hot sensation, light, bright, physical and hot while Yin is more dark and depressing touching the mind and spirit.

I dunno what Perona's devil fruit is. most ive watched is up to Ennel or something, is that skypeia? the long ear lightning guy.
"here a spiritual entity leeches the life from something leaving it weaker (though Hands of Sloth probably encompasses that more accurately)"
I get this, but Yang also has techs like that, like White Tiger - Byako, increasing the chakra spent per technique, due to an imbalance of chakra. So could you make a yang parasite, in a similar fashion to hungry ghosts? or are parasites exclusively a yin release thing?

other than that, no other questions.

Worth a try if you're willing to experiment - though its good to use Yang customs for breaking Yin stuff and vice versa. I've seen some good examples of customs being used like that. Though some areas are still unexplored.

(Inton: Dai Mugen Ryu) - Yin Release: Great Phantom Dragons
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Rank: S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 50/70
Damage: 100 | 120 (for multi-element)
Description: A more powerful version of “Yin Release Hungry Ghost Technique.” Rather than the user arbitrarily adding their Yin Release chakra to a specific technique, the user will create a number of large, elemental dragons using any of the basic elements plus their Yin Release chakra. The user can create up to 5 serpentine dragons which, once created, can act independently according to the user’s will. Due to the user being able to manipulate multiple elements at once, each dragon created can be of a different nature. Each dragon will also have the absorption properties of “Hungry Ghost,” thus becoming even more dangerous. However, due to the massive amount of chakra and control needed to use these dragons, the user can only control two dragons at any given time. While the dragons are present, the user cannot use any Yang Release or elemental techniques of the natures that currently exist within the dragons. Yin Release Specialists and Yin-Yang users can combine two natures together in order to make a multi-elemental dragon or even a dragon consisting of an advanced element or CE that they know. However, in doing so they will only be able to create two dragons.
Note: Can only be used 2 times per battle.

Create large dragons made with elemental nature and Yin release which act independently, and have the properties of Hungry Ghost. Once again, Yin specialists can use an Advanced Element or CE to create the dragons (limited to 2 though). Any questions on this one?

Id say one of the more used techniques for yin as well, top 3 or 4 probably at least what Ive fought against.
From memory, I thought only multi element should only be usable by YY users, not yin specialists because of the whole unable to manipulate two elements at the same time.
I feel like the restrictions on this arent that strong, like it doesnt limit you to anything else, only can be used two times.
No real questions outside that, just mostly pretty straight forward for that technique really as well.

Yeah, it's pretty straight forward.
Also, this was something that wasn't very clear for me in the tech itself, which caused me to fail a Skills Test lmao.

"one cannot create two different dragons with similar natures of using the same elements". Other than that, its a cool technique.

(Inton: Namakemono no Ude ) Yin Release: Hands of Sloth
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: S
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra Cost: 80 (10 w/ YY: Hands of Sloth) -50 per turn
Damage: 120
Description: This technique gets its name from one of the deadliest sins, Sloth. The user begins by clapping their hands and focusing their Yin Release chakra behind them, creating several chakra arms (up to 8) behind them, each of which is spiritual in nature. The arms themselves are invisible to the naked eye, but they can be sensed by external forms of chakra sensory or Doujutsu. The arms are capable of physically interacting with the world and attacking or defending against physical constructs. However, the user can freely turn them intangible if they wish to bypass these physical obstacles. The base usage of this technique allows the user to attack or defend covertly by freely manipulating the invisible arms. However, in their second form the user can add the “properties of sloth” to the hands which are dejection, idleness, and sleep. Dejection is a loss of will and focus translated in causing a victim to lose coherent perception of the world around them and weaken their ability to defend against genjutsu. Idleness is a loss of action which is translated to a hampered ability to cast techniques. Sleep is a loss of consciousness which is translated in a comatose state brought about by the sealing of one’s spirit if they are not sufficiently healed. The third and final form of this technique is brought about when the user introduces their Yang Release chakra which essentially makes the hands quasi-sentient and self-sufficient without the user’s mental input.
Note: All Yin Release users can use the base form of this technique. Yin Release Specialists or Yin-Yang users can use the second form. The final form of this technique can only be used by Yin-Yang users with a Yin affinity.
Note: The properties of sloth are spiritually degenerating properties. The more a victim interacts with the hands the worse they become. When touched by the hands once, the victim enters dejection and becomes unable to deduce A-rank and above genjutsu and unable to break S-rank genjutsu by any means. When touched twice the victim enters idleness and they become unable to perform techniques within a single time-frame. When touched thrice, the victim’s mind is sealed over the course of 2 turns and they enter a genjutsu that renders them a mindless puppet to the user. The properties of sloth can only affect victims if the hands are tangible. Switching between tangibility and intangibility requires a move.
Note: Genjutsu specialists and other Yin-Yang users can resist the properties of sloth through the use of counter genjutsu or Yin Release techniques like Yin State.
Note: This technique can be used once per battle. While in use, the user cannot use any non-elemental ninjutsu, Yang Release, or Yin-Yang Release techniques.

Let's discuss the OG of Yin techs.

Let's discuss the OG of Yin techs.

Ahhh yes one of the controversial ones that needed nerfing.
User makes charkra arms, up to 8 (damage divided among how many made), effectively made of pure chakra with a heavy Yin ratio. The chakra itself is invisitble to naked eye, but being made of chakra, doujutsu can see it or sensory etc.

They can interact with the world or the can turn intangible, The second form is added by yin specialists or YY users, third form is adding Yang to make them sentient moving without your own input.

The tech itself creates the 'Sloth' effect:
1 touch is unable to detect a rank and above gen or break s rank genjutsu (which really is kinda something that needs addressing, like is that an absolute, just cannot break an S rank at all? just from 1 touch? doesnt that sound a little too strong?)
2 touches and cant use multiple techs in same timeframe. tbh i think this should be 1 touch and cannot break any gen at all as 2nd.
3 touches and over 2 turns basically comatose game over.

I get its a one use tech, but still Yin techniques as so so much stronger than Yang. like looking at what is possibly the equivilent, Byako, White Tiger it seems like Hands of sloth just is a lot more of a viable option.
-goes up to mid range, doesnt say anything about "Senjutsu surges of equivalent chakra or infusions of those ranks will negate the side effects of this Jutsu, allowing it to be ended prematurely."
-lasts till cancelled rather than "The technique ends when the user calls for it or after they've made 4 successive strikes, whichever comes first." meaning that it can affect multiple people
Also, this technique specifically affects the ability to detect gen, while white tiger also says "The use of Yin Release and genjutsu above A-rank becomes impossible after 2 strikes. All matter of genjutsu becomes unusable after 4 strikes."
is there no techniques that specifically burn away Yang chakra or affect an opponents use of Yang?

Thats just my thoughts on it though, mostly thinking aloud really. I gues I am bias because Yang was my first one to learn, but also looking at it from a game balancing point of view, theres other stuff I think of.
