Sage mode and Senjutsu is the result of combining and balancing physical energy, spiritual energy, and natural energy. Sage Mode itself comes in two forms: Imperfect and Perfect. Imperfect Sage Mode results from inadequate energy balance, causing partial animalistic transformations. Perfect Sage Mode is the mastery of Senjutsu, with no unwilling physical changes except for eye pigmentation. Both forms allow a level of unique skills.

Senjutsu techniques are skills directly making use of this combination of energies and has unique interactions with Yin and Yang, while other fields that contain senjutsu which may have strengths and weaknesses become neutral. The addition of natural energy into ones system brings the users body and techniques to another level, empowering them in relation to their summoning contract.

The user can convert natural energy resulting in a separate pool of energy as per the new rules. 350 for imperfect sage mode and 400 for perfect sage mode, while meditating can increase this sum, gaining 75 natural energy per turn, with a maximum conversion of 625 being possible.

Perfect sage mode users are unable to use techniques which extend the mode, unless utilized through the mastery, while Imperfect sage mode users can.

The user is able to passively sense chakra and his/her perception and reflexes are enhanced. Their strength increases, empowering taijutsu and other close range physical combat techniques by +40. Additionally, the user is able to break out of Genjutsu, using Genjutsu release technique one rank lower than what he would normally be required to. And similarly, the requirement to break out of user’s Genjutsu using Release or Chakra surge is one rank higher than required. Lastly, the user gains access to monkey anatomy, gaining fur skin and a functional tail.
Note: Usable once per battle instantly by Perfect Sages only, starting with 400 chakra. Additional usages require meditation to enter, gathering 75 chakra per turn meditated for a max reserve of 600.

This sage mode is specific to monkeys which are noted to excel in close combat, despite using and having ninjutsu the mode itself doesn't actually increase this at all, instead focusing solely on boosting their physical prowess.

Foreign energy injected into the users system clear's genjutsu. Natural energy being the foreign energy in this case.

Does foreign energy injection release methods, go by rank still or are they an automatic break out?

Yes Senjutsu has unique interactions with Yin and Yang. Possibly having strength against them judging from the previous discussions on how to balance yin and yang.
