Within the RP, Steel release is an advanced element that combines the elements of earth and fire. It allows for the user to use themselves as the conduit for steel jutsu but can also be generated from the earth around them.

Steel release is strong against Earth, (as steel is denser then earth) Water (steel is made of earth which has a natural strength over water due to its density) and both the absorb and release of Dark release (as it cannot be released if it cannot be absorbed). It is weak to both lightning and black lightning however as metal is a conductor for electrical currents.

No questions thus far

Good enough for me.

We ain't doing this in an RP sense, so I'll post the techniques, gimme a run down and any questions you may have. I might throw in some questions of my own too.

(Kōton no Jutsu) Steel Release Technique
Rank: D
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: Allows the user to, through the use of hand gestures, produce small objects, pillars, weapons, etc, made of black steel, from their body or from the earth. The constructs are as hard as a normal kunai and swords and can be thrown at a target physically.

(Kōton: Toami) Steel Release: Fish Net
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: After 1 handseal (Bird), the user is able to produce a black steel net from his/her hands, which can be thrown towards the opponent to pin him to the ground.

(Kōton: Suchīrushīrudo) Steel Release: Steel Shield
Type: Defensive/Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: 30
Description: After performing the Bird → Horse handseals, the user will make their Kōton chakra form a shield made of a black steel that sticks to the user's forearm (either left or right forearm depends on the user). The shield is tall enough to hide from the user's eyes to his/her hip and it is hard enough to block all non chakra-infused ninja tools. the shield has the ability to block all regular swords but it can't break them. The is also strong enough to block all C-Ranked and weaker normal taijutsu techniques. The edges of the shield are very thin and sharp and the user is able to throw it as a giant shuriken to cut through the targets even through the trunks of large trees.
Note: Courtesy of Beifong

(Kōton: Kase) Steel Release: Shackles
Rank: C
Type: Offensive/Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user does 2 handseals (Bird+Ram) focusing chakra beneath the opponent, shaping the ground into several (up to 5) shackles that shoot up to grab the enemy. The shackles are linked to chains that remain connected to the ground. Once they grab the opponent, the user can clap his hands, forcefully pulling the shackles and chains to the ground, effectively pinning the opponent to the ground, restrained by the steel chains.

No worries man

(Kōton no Jutsu) Steel Release Technique
The basic technique of the element. Weave a sign and make black steel weapons, items, pillars etc from either the user or the ground around them. Basically a never ending source of kunai and shuriken provided you have the chakra to keep doing so.

(Kōton: Toami) Steel Release: Fish Net
Similar to the technique above but it focuses on creating a weighted net from the hands, that can be thrown at the opponent. requires a single handseal unless you have apex handseal spec. No real questions

(Kōton: Suchīrushīrudo) Steel Release: Steel Shield
Creates a shield on their arm, after using two handseals, it can block regular kunai and basic weapons. Block non enhanced swords, and c-rank and below tai. Obviously will follow clash rules in terms of durability and such. I am guessing that it can really only block freehand swords, as it does not specifically state it can block kenjutsu techniques, even though logically it should be able to block kenjutsu following the damage rules.

I like this tech, i think it might be a favorite for Koby.

(Kōton: Kase) Steel Release: Shackles
2 handseals and creates up to 5 shackles from the ground below the opponent to attempt to restrain them. If they get caught can use a single handseal to drag them to the ground.

So my question is mainly around spawning rules. because the technique states the chains spawn from beneath the opponent, there is no issue with them spawning directly underneath and not having to worry about spawning around the 5m distance away right?

Spawning rules apply to custom techniques. Cannon techniques are made with spawning power in mind.

The only time it becomes an issue is if it's part of infusions.

(Kōton: Tama Ishuu) Steel Release: Bullet Swarm
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: After 2 handseals (Bird+Tiger), the user is able to shot out up to a dozen metal bullets from his/her body. They move as fast as arrows and can be shot in a radial manner or a focused manner, from any part of the body the user intends to.

(Kōton: Kasui Sanran) Steel Release: Spike Spawn
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: After 1 handseal (Horse), the user is able to make a great number of black steel spikes rise up from a point in the ground within range. These spikes are very sharp and may be as big long as 2 meters.

(Kōton: Jairu Hausu Rokku) Steel Release: Jail House Rock
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After 3 handseals (Boar+Horse+Tiger), the user will use his chakra to forcefully make a large collection of metal rods to rise from the ground within range. The rods will form a prison around the target, connecting to each other beneath the ground. As soon as all the pillars have risen, which is very fast, their extremities spawn more pillars as well as their sides. As the pillars multiply, they connect to each other, forming an almost perfect prison cell, closed on all sides.

Does infusions refer to void infusions or the general combination infusions? Like channeling other chakra into a technique for a combo. Or like abilities from CW.

(Kōton: Tama Ishuu) Steel Release: Bullet Swarm
After using two hand seals, thr user can shoot steel bullets out of his body. This includes any part, so if you can sense or track where someone is gonna be, you can fire them in virtually any direction as needed. Pretty self explanatory.

(Kōton: Kasui Sanran) Steel Release: Spike Spawn
Single handseal, creates a great number of dark steel spikes from the ground anywhere within range 0 - 10/15 meters.

(Kōton: Jairu Hausu Rokku) Steel Release: Jail House Rock
Solid song. The tech uses three hand seals to summon a fast-rising, self-multiplying network of metal rods from the ground. These rods instantly form an impenetrable, fully-enclosed prison cell around the target by spawning new connecting pillars from their tips and sides.

Infusions are generally added effects to a technique that goes beyond what the technique can do naturally. For example, yin effects like hungry ghost. I know the dream sand CE can add a dust effect to jutsu that changes it's original interaction. Hope this helps.

(Kōton: Uroku Hei) Steel Release: Scaled Wall
Rank: B
Type: Deffense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After 1 handseal (Bird), the user is able to rise a large wall of plated black steel to protect from incoming attacks.

(Kōton: Mukankaku no Yoroi) - Steel Release: Impervious Armour
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: This Technique allows the user to turn part their body into black steel, making that part of their body invulnerable to most weapons and taijutsu attacks. But due to its metal properties it leaves the user vulnerable to lightning based techniques.
Note: Can only render Taijutsu Techniques A rank and below useless.

(Kōton: Harinezumi) - Steel Release: Hedgehog
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user will perform the Bird handseal whilst kneading chakra. From along the user's body, dozens of steel needles will emerge from wherever is preferred and launch towards a target. Each needle is roughly 7cm in length and boasts decent penetrative force.

It does thank you.

Scaled Wall
Basically Steel releases version of mud wall, single handseal to create a wall to protext from an incoming attack.

Impervious Armor
The user can turn part of themselves into black steel to protect from incoming taijutsu or weapon attacks. It makes the user vulnerable to lightning which i assume would mean a lightning jutsu would land as a critical hit? Still unsure how those apply.

Its not a sustained justu so it is reactively used. Its damage threshhold would be 40 based of its rank, but with the note on the tech, for taijutsu specifically, it should have an a-rank threshold of 60 correct?

Hedgehog
Gotta go.fast! Jokes aside, the user essentially creates steel spike projectiles from their body and shoots them toward the opponent. Molding chakra and using a singular hand seal for the technique

Yeah lightning would be a crit. It also says it turns part of your body to steel, not your whole body. This limits it's use. Where it says A rank, it's specific to tai, not elemental jutsu btw. Punching steel hurts unless you're Garp.

(Kōton: Hebikēburu) - Steel Release: Snake Cable
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user will make a whip of steel and hold it with both hands. The whip is 2m in length and ends with a snake head-like figure. By using chakra to manipulate the whip, the user will make it move as if it were a real snake and bite the target with its "fangs." The cable is able to conduct electricity to shock the bitten target, once the user starts using a suitable Raiton technique to make lightning.

Note: Courtesy of Beifong

(Kōton: Tetsuryūkon) – Steel release: Iron Dragon's Club
Type:
Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra: 20 per club
Damage: 40
Description: The user transforms his arm or leg into a large steel club, increasing punching and kicking power. He can also create multiple smaller clubs from the end of the original, hitting many enemies in short range at once. The clubs can be elongated at the user's will, making for powerful ranged weapons. He is also capable of increasing their size dramatically and to detach them from his body. The clubs can only be created from his limbs and will always be connected to him, as they can't be shot as ranged weapons. Each use of the technique pertains to both his arms.

Note: Courtesy of Gajeel Redfox

(Kōton: Mori Yuubu) Steel Release: Lance of Valor
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: After 1 handseal (Rat), the user is able to create a great lance of black steel from one arm, which will envelop the arm up to the elbow and protrude out about a meter. The lance can then be increased to Mid-range to skewer targets from a distance or be used as a melee weapon. The lance lasts as long as the user wishes, having the ability to discard it whenever its needed.

That makes a lot of sense, ill update that steel is weak to garp in my notes.

(Kōton: Hebikēburu) - Steel Release: Snake Cable
Makes a steel cable thats 2m long and acts like a snake that bites the opponent, can be used with a lightning jutsu to channel the lightning into the whip, ie like chidori for example as displayed by sasuke. This however leaves the user open for the whip to be used as a lightning conductor of the opponent.

(Kōton: Tetsuryūkon) – Steel release: Iron Dragon's Club
This one is easy to understand as its one of Gajeels main attakcs in FT. But as user changes there limbs with steel release into clubs , they can increase the size of the of the clubs, elongate them to midrange. So if you strike someone at mid range, this then can also be used to attack someone within short range of the end of the club? essentially giving an additional 5m range on the mid range distance?

(Kōton: Mori Yuubu) Steel Release: Lance of Valor
This reminds me of a steel varient of that bone jutsu kimimaro used before he died. The user makes the lance around their arm, either making it the size for short or midrange attacks. It says it can be discarded, does that mean there is just a random black steel lance lying on the battlefield after its been discarded?

Yeah Iron Dragon's club was one I donated a while back. It just lets you swing a lil further.

Yeah just drop a weap. Someone else can loot it. O_<

(Kōton: Sassou Kishi) Steel Release: Gallant Knight
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: after 3 handseals (Bird+Boar+Tiger), the user is able to create a large gollem made entirely of black steel plates, that rises from the ground, fashioned after a samurai or a knight armor, which can be sent to attack the opponent or to support the user. The Knight can use Taijutsu/Kenjutsu and Kōton up to B rank and can stay on the field as long as the user spends chakra to sustain it. Only 2 Knights can be on the field at any given time and each use of the technique only creates one.

(Kyosei Kōton no Jutsu) - Greater Steel Release Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30

Can you use an existing source of metal you drop for your jutsu? cause if they go to pick them up you could attack them from that source?

(Kōton: Sassou Kishi) Steel Release: Gallant Knight
after using the required hand seals the user creates a black steel golem that rises from the ground for attack or support. Only one is made per jutsu, and they can use up to b-rank tai/ken and steel release.
  1. Though it doesnt mention the sustainment cost, would it be safe to assume that the cost is 10 per turn?
  2. With Apex handseal, could you create two within the same TF?
  3. If you have a boost to steel techs, for example 8 Mind gives 15 damage increase to spec nin. Would this mean that the armor gains an additional 15 to its own koton or would that apply to tai and ken as its applied to the armor?
  4. Additionally would this mean the armor moves at a-rank earth plus jutsu speed increase making its spd 12 as with the example above the jutsu speed is increased by 2?
  5. Final additional, would the armor have a a health of 60 +15?

(Kyosei Kōton no Jutsu) - Greater Steel Release Technique
A larger version of the base technique of the element, no questions

Yeah you could then use greater steel release to make that spear now impale them xD

1. It should have a sustainment cost realistically. As of now it doesn't so there wouldn't be a cost.
2. Nah you'd make one per tf.
3. The knight is using the tech, not you. So the knight wouldn't gain the buffs.
4. It moves at the speed of your current element.
5. Yes it would

(Kōton: Ikka no Isshi) Steel Release: House of Strings
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: After 3 handseals (Boar+Bird+Horse), the user will create two great pillars of black steel, parallel to each other, and 5 meters apart. Almost invisible to the naked eye, are a myriad of thin, sharp steel strings that connect both pillars. The user will then launch both pillars in any direction, ripping the ground at their passage, with great speed. If anything stands on the path of strings, it gets sliced clean, including the opponent. The strings follow the element's weakness and strength on what they can or cannot cut. The pillars go back into the earth after they reach the range limit, and cannot change direction once in motion.

(Kōton: Kujo no Tama) Steel Release: Demolition Ball
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: After 2 handseals (Bird+Monkey), the user is able shoot a steel chain from any point in the ground. Attached to the tip of the chain is a small ball of black steel, and moves at the speed of an arrow. After its shot, the small ball of steel increases in size to become a devastating 2 meter in diameter recking ball. The steel chain is kept connected to the ground but cannot be used to control the direction the ball is taking. The weight of the ball is roughly 20 times that of a normal ninja.

1. Awesome, I think this is probably one of my favorite techniques so far
2. Fair, I sometimes forget that the apex handseal is a spec, and without it jutsu actually need handseals, ill make a post it for myself to remind myself
3. Again, that makes sense now that i think about it
4. understood
5. Yay!

(Kōton: Ikka no Isshi) Steel Release: House of Strings
its like a laser trap from a movie, the ones in a corridor that slowly move down along it to slice people up. This one is creating two pillars with fine steel thread in the 5m distance between the pillars, which are then launched in whichever direction the user wishes, slicing anything caught in its path. The strings follow s/t so theyre weak to lightning and black lightning, and strong against earth water and dark. One range is reached they disappear back into the earth and cannot change direction once launched.

(Kōton: Kujo no Tama) Steel Release: Demolition Ball
Can create a chain that shoots out of the ground with a small steel ball attached at the end. The ball then expands to a 2m diameter wrecking ball that weighs 20 times a normal ninja. the chain cannot be used to control the ball and remains connected to the ground.

Im unsure what the speed of an arrow is, would it just be universal speed of s-rank or would it just follow the earth speed table?

Steel is linked to earth, so all the techs move at the same speeds as earth jutsu.

(Kōton: Doragon Kourin) Steel Release: Dragon Advent
Type: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
Rank: Forbidden
Range: Mid
Chakra: 50
Damage: 90 (-40 to the user)
Description:
The user first performs the hand seals Tiger → Dog → Boar → Rat → Monkey → Dog → Dragon → Serpent → Rat, the user exudes a large aura of steel chakra, resembling a dragon. They then manipulate as much metallic objects as they can sense and gathers them around them. They then shape the metal around them until everything except their face and some distance around them is covered by metal. The user then utilizes their chakra to form the mass of steel into the shape of a bipedal dragon. This technique coats the user in a suit of metal, similar to armor, and reinforced by chakra. Taijutsu blows are far stronger than normal and the armor is durable to many attacks. If some of the metal is destroyed, the aura left in its place will refuse the metal. The dragon can also create and launch a storm of projectiles at the opponent. However, this jutsu is extremely risky to use. For one, it changes the user's posture into a dragon-like stance. Secondly, the chakra needed for this technique is incredible, especially the restoration process. Third, the armor is incredibly heavy, weighing almost 300 pounds. The chakra aura negates the weight, but only for so long, giving the technique's effectiveness a strict time limit otherwise the user may get crushed. Finally, the metal coating the user makes them very vulnerable to Fire Release techniques.
Notes:
- The storm of projectiles counts as 1 of the 3 moves.
- The chakra aura negates the weight for two turns.
- Can only rebuild itself once, per use.
- Can only be used once per battle.
- No steel related jutsu's for four turns after the use of this.
- The user will be completely drained, can only use B-rank and below techniques.
- Taijutsu up to S-rank are made renderless.
- A-rank fire jutsu will be able to give major damage to the user of this.

Makes sense

(Kōton: Doragon Kourin) Steel Release: Dragon Advent
Essentially release steel chakra in the shape of a dragon, attracts all metal from surrounding area to create a giant dragon armor around you. Can create and launch a storm of projectiles at the opponent, which count as 1 of 3 moves a turn. The amor weighs a lot, so that chakra aura is designed to alleviate that weight for the initial first two turns, makes the user vulnerable to fire based jutsu.

Does the user only take the damage when they get crushed under the weight of the armor?
Does the make taojutus renderless refer to the user being unable to perform taijutsu or does it refer to blocking up to s rank taijutsu

Nah they just take the damage from the strain. But, get yang and you good.

It's bad wording but it means taijutsu don't work on the user.

That's steel done mon amis.
