Lol, I'd be losing my CE too, and basically the whole character of full Sasuke would be cheeks without YY.
Though I'm more for a full restart anyway, where there's better guards in place for power creep.


So would you strip people of the cannon power they acquired or nerf it to bring it in line with a restart?

or offer and alternative compromise. I can see both sides. One a new balance for the system. The other I’ve done 40 missions to unlock a bijuu and now I’m losing it. It’s a tough vibe

Like you said, either option. I don't mind a restart, but others really like their arsenal. I mean, I do have about 10 years worth of customs and stuff, most have more lol. Don't even wanna know how many hours of it.

It really is a tough call. I’d like to see a lot of stuff scaled back. Reset the power creep and introduce a new ninja world system that isn’t so insane power wise. And easier to manage.

Tbh if there is a reset it's be a much better idea to restructure the power creep, make it more skill tree based. Down with YY!!!

Yup, I’m thinking of making top posters and rankings a mix of activity and engagement, so if others like or quote your post it boosts your rank. If nobody engages with it, it won’t really count for much. For now it’s based on post counts, but for events we’ll switch the algorithm on. The more quality you bring now, the better your chances for something very nice we’re working on at the moment.

You can only spam in forum games and nowhere else. Because of post merge you can no longer spam as in the past. Posting in the forum is participation because You are increasing the stats of the forum by posting. This will lead to more users joining which will increase participation.

I don't have much admittedly, but the small part I do have took me a lot of effort to get through at the time. I don't think I would want to lose it entirely but if the verdict is a full reset then do be it.

I find the issue a full reset brings is that there will be a load placed onto the customs thread from people recreating techniques and possibly even people aiming to copy others.

I don't know how to progress with this. The one idea I feel would work would involve mass sharing of CJ where you can only select a certain number to use in game.

I will be happy either way personally but trying to foresee potential issues is important.

As for higher tier skills I don't feel my input is fair since I have never had anything really higher than tier 3 or 4 but lowering overall numbers and bringing them more inline with other skills could be a start. I feel that the true value in some of the higher tier skills are the special properties they bring but most of that is overshadowed by numbers currently

Its been said, but the big issue is that the game has been updated/design with multiple different systems blended together, so its tried to stay true to the canon material, but then also tried to be balanced as a game. The issue is if you nerf the top tier powers, people might complain that they lost powers or that its not true to the material. Other sense is if you bring it in line with everything else, you end up struggling to differentiate what actually makes it unique.
I have a rough plan of what the system could be like, but ill put it in a spoiler because I know itll end up being a long ramble that not many people will actually want to read.
Personally, I think getting rid of the six path characters and YY would be the best bet, simply because they scale too high to evenly balance.

Now I will admit straight up, that this is inspiration from multiple different RPGs, different games, many different systems analysed to look at what would work best specifically in a turn based rpg game, trying to maintain the balance of both power fantasy but also trying to keep it to align with an actual balanced system.

I will set a premise that end game abilities should be equal across all players, meaning that just because you would want to have a Rinnegan Madara Bio, Full Bijuu unlock, or even a custom character that has An AE, paper and say sage mode, everyone that reaches the end game should be on equal footing if they have the same amount of work put in. Additionally, I believe in the idea of a Rock-Paper-Scissors triumvirate of strengths and weakness is a a key part and should remain a key part. I dont think the idea of 'neutral to all' or ;strong to everything' should exist. Its just a key part of any game balance that one thing cannot dominate anything else. Sure there can be Meta's and patches and balances happen, but it should exclusively be obvious just from picking certain characters/abilities that you are worse or better off than others.

The AP system was a great additional and definitely should be kept, but I think it should be adjusted or at least expanded upon, it didnt really specifically limit anyone to specific builds (IMO), and everyone still kinda really just did a jack of all trades type spread. Id much rather see something like class diversity happen instead of bland 'everyone throws nukes' type builds. Id rather see a system where AP is instead spent to use or unlock your kit and give you specialties if you go far enough in it.

The following is a ROUGH draft of a more in depth AP system, that gives more customization which tries to balance a bit more about what people have access to.

As an example, lets say as a Jounin I have 45 AP points, you have the 5 elements, what ever abilities your bio has, lets say its a basic sasuke, so uchiha with curse mark.
With Health, Chakra, speed, Tracking, Durability, Ninjutsu, 'Body' (placeholder) and 'Genjutsu', Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning and Earth.
Each one has a quota to meet to be able to use specific level of abilities.
Eg, to use S rank fire, you will need a minimum of 5 points in Fire. So your spread might look something like
Health: 2
Chakra: 3
Speed: 4
Tracking: 3
Durability: 0
Ninjutsu: 3
Body: 3
Genjutsu: 5
Fire:6
Water: 2
Wind: 4
Lightning: 5
Earth: 0
Sharingan: 3
Curse Mark: 2

Effectively what this spread would be is someone who is proficient in Fire, Lightning, genjutsu has medium skills in ninjutsu, as well as their sharingan and curse mark, and medium build for health and chakra. Notice the 6 in Fire, that would unlock the F ranks, and potentially the first specialty. It might be something like, Can use Fire techniques with one handseal.

Now lets say I complete a few more missions, level up, get some more AP to spend. I can improve what I choose, and if I get to a point where I want to Unlock Mangekyou, it might require something like 5 in Sharingan just to unlock it. Then to get more techniques, it might require 6 or 7.

Once again, this is just a rough draft with a full written copy saved in my GoogleDocs, with full on talent tree system, basically written out.

Personally, I think that one thing that needs to be changed is the whole 'infusions' and passive techniques, I can just see the system once again being 'i passively use X, Y, Z, and now i have two +20 boosts turn one'. This can be incorporated into the AP talent system, where you specialize specifically in an element or ability, to actually master it to do more damage. Maybe you put 8 points in Fire and now you can do fire without hand seals and all fire techniques are passively +20 damage stronger.

I have more to say, but this is just a small excerpt of what id rather see changed or made.

TLDR:
Keep AP but go into more depth, use AP to actually unlock to use abilities. Tie specialties into AP.

You can nerf yourself any time and a story can do that by limiting abilities. To force this choice and nerf someone down even further I think is too much. You're changing the RP from what it is.

You're saying down with YY but that's also, forgive my french, shitting on a hell of a lot of hard work put in by the player base. Be it 25 A rank missions to buy one component to the grind to get their custom elements with those components in approved.


Genuinely speaking to countless people in recent times about the RP, the consensus is that that RP has a great base. There is so much to it, it's well structured and it allows for a lot of creativity. So what are the problems:

1. Too much power creap.

2. The ninja world is too much and needs scaling back.

3. It's so hard to unlock certain abilities.

4. No consistency where needed to keep it running.


If I'm losing half my life (yeah that's right, I'm 32 and had half my life on here) worth of work in being creative, grinding and building something. I'd be out. L has said it before about his customs etc and what he's worked towards. Many are in the same boat. I honestly think people who want to constrict the game are the one changing to change it more than it needs to be. There is nothing in the game that stops you from limiting yourself and still being creative. For example, Lili did it with Aburame. Vayne did it with Nara. Izuna years ago did it with water. People have focused, self nerfed and still gone far. Forcing a constriction on all changes the fundamentals of what's been built and would hinder more than it could ever seek to achieve.

Am I just shooting down ideas to moan? No. I want to build something, simplify the NW. Draw back the abilities. Put systems in place to scale down what the game became. How would I do this for example:

  • Scale back the ninja world and make it two factions. They don’t have to be at war, it can just be two nations. The nations are run by NPC which will be controlled by players which will rotated with every season.
  • The main content of the ninja world will come down to the dungeons that spawn in the world. Nothing is known about these dungeons. Each level is progressively harder. Not all of them are about fighting. It can have puzzles, riddles or rp situations to get out of. Limits will be in place the further you get into the dungeon. Options will be drafted in the back end, randomly rolled for with each level. You gain a reward with each level you clear. You can take a portal to leave or continue. If you die continuing, you lose half of your rewards to that point.
  • In the new ninja world, limits are introduced. To enter, you must fill in a character sheet which limits your power. In this sheet you will link your power, set number of abilities following the guidelines along with chose specs. Limits to be set out later. (Note, bios will keep all abilities thus far and are free to use them in the battle arena).
  • Old abilities need to be scaled back. If an ability is deemed to strong, it is noted as “Legends”. What this means is, you can only use it in the events or chapters that allow for legends or in the battle arena. This will scale back a lot of older powers in the game to create balance and not strip anyone of what they have gained. The maximum power for any attack should be between 100-120. Yin/Yang and top tier bios need to be scaled back to suit.
  • Testing needs to be removed. Instead of tests, introduce tokens of merit. If an ability is removed for it being too strong, give players tokens of merit that can be traded in for a tier ability of that value. Tier 5 needs 5 tokens for example. These tokens can be rewards from dungeons, player activity or even helping out the community. In community events these can be handed out also. Keep the kumi system in place.
Would I say these are set in stone? No. Do they need work and tuning? Yes. Does it balance the "Get rid of strong abilities" with "bring balance" with "scale things down"? It has potential. But if after all I've worked for, its then stripped or super restricted, it wont be the game I loved and I personally would lose that sentimental value that base has held for me for so long.


Note: Resetting customs is a bad idea. Any rper has seen how much hate someone has got for stealing or ripping ideas. That says it all. Limit what you can use in events. E Z

??? It was NEVER allowed.

I read the rules just now and there is no mention of it not been allowed. Plus people here have alt accounts and there are no issues. I myself have two alt accounts that I used to use in the past to make buffer posts in mafia games.

Oh?? But I remember people getting banned for it. Some were forgiven, but I guess it's a case by case thing. Thanks for correcting me.

They were probably banned because they used an alt while been banned. That is against the rules but this is an unwritten one. There is only a brief mention of it in the Premium rules.

You can create alts. There are limits in how you can use them in certain parts of AB such as in the RP

Read this before purchase!
You have to be at least 18 years old to do this or to have your parents consent. Remember that premium won't protect you from getting banned when rules have been broken or if you purchase it on a alternative account while having another banned account.
