These were the tailed beasts.
They lived as beasts and got to witness human life.
They evolved.

When they entrusted Naruto with their chakra they were fulfilling their purpose.
They became one again within Naruto.
When Boruto was born they evolved again.
He was born with a nature chakra affinity.
This chakra is similar to the ten tails because it needs nutrients to grow.
As fate would have it Boruto is 80 something percent Otsutsuki.
He's a step ahead of everyone else.
Once he realizes this power he can reverse his karma and become a Sun God.
