I usually see the arguement that Yin/Yang Kurama is significantly weaker than full Kurama, based on the ratio.
This does not make sense to me. Kurama is a fully fleshed out character in terms of abilities. He also has his body, his mind, his sensing and his various abilities. Simply adding more energy to that improves only one aspect of his capabilities. Anything Yin/Yang Kurama can do, full Kurama simply does for slightly longer or bigger.
And even if he was just a blob of energy, at the level he operates at, and in a world of counters, that would be worth very little. Why? Because his hlaf energy is already enough to overhwelm those he beats but not worth much to those that counter his powers. It would be like a bullet becoming twice as big or fast, but only. Most armour that blocks bullets isn't gonna fail just because of that. And at the speed it operates at, anyone who dies to a double speed bullet also dies to a normal bullet. The loss in speed does not suddenly allow people to dodge or track. A loss in size would not make it easy to block, because to most people a bullet is already too much. Exceptions can exist, but only those that are already challenging a normal bullet anyway. The same with Kurama. Besides characters who almost beat or lose to him due to minute differences in his destructive power, everyone else is unaffected by something that already has 10 times their energy levels now having 20 times of it. It is basically redundant.
That addressed, going back to the fact that pure output from energy attacks is only one of his qualities applies the above point even more so. His speed, the ability to act within practical time, is largely unchanged. His intelligence, maybe slightly but experience with his powers means there is almost nothing that a full Kurama can think to do that a half Kurama could not. His sensingight have a slightly larger area of effect, but when half Kurama can already cover battlefields it is meaningless in most scenarios. His durability and showed no difference either. At no point in any of his fights did we see half Kurama complain of lacking his other half in terms of stats and powers. The only clear benefit I can see is him being sealed away and trapped easier, but that is a highly story-driven scenario, not something practical in immediate scenarios or combat.
The only character I can think of whose fight with Kurama would be determined by energy differences would be the 3rd RK, who is famous for it. Otherwise, with the only factor being stamina, every other character either beats his powers or loses to them outright. Among the Akatsuki, Hidan and Kakuzu tank whatever he puts out cleanly, Sasori and Deidara stay out of his range then blast him to pieces, Kisame absorbs his energy while Itachi burns him down, Konan suffocates or tears him apart and the SPoP toy with any number of him. Among kage, the RK either cuts him down or doesn't, the HK beats him with summons, the MK is either sensed or not, the KK stays out of range and buries him while the TK deletes him. The Golden Gen are either overpowered already or can counter him with their tricks. Characters like Kakashi depend on whether their gimmicks work or fail to one-shot him. There is almost no battle that comes down to his stamina.
And of course, the only other scenarios that may require more energy are exceptional ones such as having to share his energy cloaks with an army.
So I don't see why half Kurama should be seen as practically any different from full Kurama, barring exceptional and rare scenarios.
