Mirabelle arrived at the outskirts of the rather strange marketplace. It was her first time here, but she’s heard rumors of the wares and strange gadgets lurking in these parts of the world. As the Kage of Tsumigakure, she didn’t want to cause any sort of political uproar; as she tucked her kage hat underneath a cloak she wore walking through the streets. Many eyes started to watch at the woman, as she started to look around at the different tools she might need. Once she arrived at particular business shop. “Coming in…” she said as she arrived into the store. Seems no one was around, minus what appears to be the shopkeeper. Her wyvern circled over the market place flying in the air and waiting to strike if needed, but as she approached the desk, the shop keeper turned to face the woman.

Ahhh such a youthful face…what do you want child?” the man with a rather raspy tone asked Mirabelle. Her eyes narrowed in a bit as she approached the man. “I’m looking for some weapon supplies and upgrades…normally id have gotten them from my own forces but the time it would take is a bit slow, so I came to closest place I can find” she said to the shopkeeper. He shook his head, he didn’t have any of those weird gadgets and tools the others offered outside of the shop. “I’m afraid you came to the wrong store woman, all I sell here are…body mods” he said, leaning in bit closer as she took off her hood. “HEY DON’T TOUCH ME” she said protesting.

Shishishi, what a looker…but in all seriousness you wont find any of those things in this shop…why not get one of our upgrades…I’m sure it will be of some use…” he said, smirking. “What modifications…” Mirabelle asked, somewhat curious but she wasn’t about to turn herself into a cybernetic freak. “Simple stuff, enhancement to your eyes, body or even your chakra system. All for a simple fee…” he said pushing the list of current modifications he can apply to her. She loomed over the choices, as her brow peaked up a bit. “I’ll take these Night vision and its additional upgrade” she said as she rummaged through her pouch as she collected the required amount. She placed it on the table as the shop keep started to count it and see it was accurate. “Very well, please step into the backroom…it wont take no time at all…shishisshi…” he said. Mirabelle rolled her eyes and does as he said.

Purchasing the Night Vision Mods, costing 4000 total.

Strix often took note of the people coming and leaving Veskals Exchange, in the hopes that she could find people worthy of piquing her interest, and usually there was only low level traders and thugs looking to sell their services. Today was an exception, as Strix could see a new face enter the Marketplace, someone who looked to be well travelled as well herself. He had a strange aura, Strix could note that he seemed to posses several unique skills rare around the Eastern Continent. Standing from her position, she wandered over to introduce herself.

Our eyes havent seen you here before. We are Strix, Black Witch.

Her voice scratchy and low as she spoke to the stranger, with a pale white hand from under her cloak now resting on the table to show no hostilities.

You are new here, why have you come?

Her question was simple and to the point, Strix was curious and wanted to be sated. Perhaps this stranger may help her with her quest.
Alucard would be in solitude for a brief moment until he was greeted by a fellow. His tenseigan revealed her entire chakra flow and whatnot. He did not recognize her but it mattered not. She spoke to him after having sat down infront of him, addressing herself as several beings. "we" - Alucard thought to himself.. A gimmick? Or was she.. like him - a duality of souls. A most interesting woman this would turn out to be. She would introduce herself to him, revealing her name as the Black Witch Strix. After that she would rest her hand upon the table and asked two questions. Alucard looked up, revealing his golden/cyan dojutsu, meeting her curious gaze. He then briefly looked over towards the bar.

Oi!

He lifted his hand with the pint of beer and called for another one for the lady. He then rested both his elbows on the table and leaned his head on his hands. His intention now was to converse with her.

I go by the name Alucard, leader of the Hellsing organisation. My business here is to investigate the ongoing threats in the Tobusekai continent, me and a few others were on a battlefield not too long ago. My travels had me drifted away from this place briefly but i am now back to find out what is going on. Maybe you know?

He looked into her eyes as he spoke without blinking once, his voice was laid back and was not showing any indications of stress or hostility. He wasn't there to make more enemies afterall. The barkeeper would then come with two more pints of beer at their table. Alucard raised his glass, anticipating a move from Strix.

This one's on me, my lady.

There was barely a chatter in the tavern as Alucard introduced himself, and Strix tilted her head as she heard the name that he represented. Hellsing Organization, one that she had seen posters for, both Wanted and warnings. He was a dangerous one, and someone who was spreading his name far and wide, a great person to talk with.

Hellsing....I have heard of that name. It has been spread very far very quickly.

Taking the ale and taking a sip, Strix followed customs that she drink with Alucard. He explained how he had come looking for information, and as such, Strix was also in the market, though most likely in different tastes.

We you have come at an auspicious time, hordes of monsters coming from the sea, attacking Tobuseki. I can tell you what I know, and perhaps in turn you may help me.

See, this is the Veskals Exchange market, lots of traders from all over that can get you things not easily found. All run by a man named Spider. I have earned his good graces to receive an audience, however, he requires tribute still, a price that I have yet to reach.
While most of the marketplace here deals in trinkets, weapons, even genetic modifications, Spider's market is a little more valuable. Information. One of the most powerful weapons known to anyone. The right words can topple empires.

Strix paused, wondering how much she should reveal before the new comer. While Strix knew the value of information to be had, the stranger hadn't earned the audience with Spider like Strix had. Perhaps she could use this to her advantage.

As they drank and talked, Alucard started to notice a familiarity in their conversation. The build up had payed off indubitably, he knew friendly gestures like this would almost always end up in a comfortable situation. The way she spoke of his clan was almost out of inspire, he knew indeed about the spread of his name and the organisation. Good mixed with bad, a name that had been taken from him once but again resettled. They both drank and enjoyed the ambiance for a bit. The warmth and cozy atmosphere of the tavern was a very tranquil element to the whole quest/mission ideal that he had taken upon himself these last few years. Strix went on and explained about the situation and attacks on Tobusekai. Something that he was already familiar with, especially when it came to the undead and other unnatural things. He had not, however, heard about "The Spider" that she mentioned. Veskal's Exchange had been a place where had done business in before, many times at that, but he had failed to notice this one. The circumstances of the landmark had also drastically changed over the year due to the war on the continent that was raging. She went on describing briefly what sort of goods The Spider was selling. "Trinkets, weapons and genetic modifications." - hmm, he thought to himself. Alucard was a very nonchalant person and saw himself as a deity due to his powers, but also as a heathen due to his duality cause soul. He never thought himself needing anything anymore but he wouldn't be a part of this new world if he hadn't checked out the latest in genetic modifications. Alas, his Chimera technique was probably still pinnacle but genetic modification could be a plethora of things indeed.

Hm, i am intrigued by this.. Spider. The name itself is.. chaotically calming. I might like this one. Hopefully he or she has character matching their name. And wares matching your hype. I have yet to find something to spend fortunes on in these continents.. Maybe Spider will have me sold on his ware(s).

Alucard paused for a bit. He knew it was a risky thing to ask but his mindset were to make allies at the time. His clan was in dire need of more recruits and the state of the world cried out for collaboration now more than ever. With his mind set, he would match his question with his charm and tone in his voice masterfully.

You mentioned you had not reached your tribute to this.. Spider, yet. Maybe we can work something out that will benefit the both of us huh? I'd say you are a powerful force to be reckoned with and frankly i enjoy your company so far. Are you in any alliance as of this moment with any of the warring states?

Explaining the situation to Alucard took a while, and although her genetic surgery wasn't visible, but she could definitely vouch for the quality of the merchants in Veskals exchange. Alucard was interesting to Strix, he was abnormal, at least, different from the other shinobi and warriors that Strix had encountered, his demeanour, his attitude, everything about him strikes her as different. While most boast about their power, or proudly die for their country or clan, Alucard looked to be someone who was searching for excitement, meaning, something just to satisfy himself. She could relate in a way, for what was life without purpose.

As the topic of Spider came up, Alucard was as curious as she was about the broker.

He does sound interesting, to have such a tight grip on the marketplace such as he does, he must either be powerful or have powerful allies. Although one must always be careful when dealing in information. We imagine he has a network of spies, or informants that gather information for him, a web per se perhaps the moniker.

A pause preceded their next conversation, each wanting to pry more information about the other without letting their goals slip, when Alucard spoke first, asking to make a mutual benefit. Assuming Strix to be a powerful force, he was lubricating his words with honey, trying to get into her good graces. While she appreciated the sentiment, she followed his words cautiously.

Alliances…. a funny word in a time like this. We have known clans to come together, to band and form a village, we have seen them fight one minute then come together the next. We come from the snowy white north, Shimogakure, however we left that village, and my past behind. We have no allegiance, simply following our own whim. For now it has brought us here in search of information. However, you speak of working something out, which we are sure can come to some arrangement.

Spider is asking for 15000 ryo as payment for this meeting we've earned. The favour garnered from defending his lands, protecting the market isnt enough. We currently have been paid 4500 for our efforts and am short 10500 still. From your question and charm, we gather that youd like us to join your Organization. Is this accurate?

Strix was curious about Alucard, and joining his organization wouldn't get in her way of what she was doing now. While she was travelling alone, it wouldn't hurt to have allies to call or to look into in the future. Although his organization had earned infamy, Strix relished the idea of expanding her influence.

Alucard was entitled to listen to Strix's background story. It would seem like she had been through alot and for a moment he regretted asking the question. He knew how it felt to not know ones place in the world, tinkered between alliances here and there without any meaning or prosper as a character. It was probably her ongoing phase right now, to pause her alliegences to everyone and just find out what she wanted to do in the world. It would most likely be the best time in her life to figure herself out before making a stand. Alucard listened throughout her dialouge about the spider and her answer to his questions including the prices of The Spider. Alucard leaned back in his chair and torched a cigarette with a flicker using his fire release to protrude chakra from his fingertip. A classy move, surely not to impress but he was dying for a smoke after Strix's story.

Let me just say this Strix. I get it. My organisation was founded by me and it is a portrayal of my acheivements. Good and bad. The reason i started the whole thing was to create an image as i found myself that sometimes i needed something i've founded during my best years to influence the world while my own character might be.. It's complicated.. If you need time to figure yourself out in the world, i get it. I spent alot of time in different clans, here and there and at some point i needed a break from it all to figure myself out. To build my character. If that is what you wish to do, i will do nothing to stand in your way but i shall re-iterate that anyone is welcome to join my organisation. I am not bounding anyone to rules other than alliances and provide a home fit for those who fight well at my Moon Island. This is not a topic we need to discuss further unless you want to.

Alucard would not wait for Strix's response in the matter and continued onwards as he felt like the topic was already of a sensitive element. He also had nothing more to add in the topic anyway. He would breathe in the smoke from his cigarette and continue on.

So, The Spider. Yes, i shall follow you to this one and we can work something out. You mention a tally i will provide it for you. You can just see it as a.. token of appreciation for our time here as i find you very interesting.

Alucard rose up from his chair and inhaled the last part of the cigarette before dismantling it into free atoms using his dust release on a small scale.

Let's go talk to our mutual friend, my lady. After you.

There was a chitter within Strix as she began to feel excitment swelling up within herself, the prospect of meeting with Spider and acquiring the knowledge she had been seeking. It had been a trial to find out the meaning, but Strix was hoping that this information dealer could finally be the key to unlocking her future. Alucard, this stranger she had met had offered her a place in his organization as well as being able to fund her meeting. It all came at a price, but for now, Strix would pay anything to get what she wanted.

Your offer is generous sir, and We greatly appreciate it. We will humbly accept your offer to join Hellsing, as a thank you for aiding us in our seeking of knowledge and the meeting with Spider.

Toasting and drinking to the deal they struck, Strix now had the 15000 Ryo that was needed for a meeting with Spider. Taking the money that was offered, Strix took a piece of paper and from within her robes wrote down a note, that was then palced on one of her many fireflies. The firefly then went off to the drop point to organize the meeting for Strix with Spider.

We must warn you, we do not know if Spider will welcome your presence. Of course as our beneficiary, we will ask him to allow you to come along, even ask if you may gather information from him as well. However please do not feel offended if he asks for us alone. Should that be the case, is there any information you greatly desire from Spider?

Strix was unsure if Spider would allow Alucard to accompany Strix, but either way, she had finally organized the meeting she greatly desired.

Coming from #231, the Tomb of Marduk.

Entering the exchange for the first time in years was not quite what Emiya was expecting. It had been several years since he'd laid foot in the dark hub of commerce, and general underbelly of Tobusekai's trading, but despite his previous experiences already painting it as a literal dive that he'd rather never step foot in, it's appearance these days was even more so. Decaying buildings, and dark alleys that were perfect for disappearing merchants, and absconding with their goods and wares were so common, it was easier to count the well-lit sections of the city. It was in one such darkened alleyway that Emiya found himself however, staring at a darkened, time-worn doorway, tell tale signs of forced entry heavily implying the Kiritsugu's "safe-house" had long since served a far more altruistic purpose for the good people of Veskal's Exchange. As the door creaked heavily, and Emiya saw the first signs of a properly ransacked residence. Next was the extremely thick layer of dust on every surface, threatening to suffocate Emiya with years of neglect. It was to be expected honestly, as it had been a good decade and a half since the safe house had seen use from the Emiya family. Closing the door behind him as gently as he could, to disturb the least amount of debris as possible, he made his way inside the haven. From the looks of things the place had been ransacked years ago, and almost everything that wasn't nailed down had been taken. Some larger furniture remained, but for the most part, it was entirely barren.

Shirō was far less concerned with the fenced goods, and more focused on the floor. Carefully tapping around the floorboards in the main room, he was clearly looking for something, though what exactly was only clear when, instead of a light, hard tapping, there was a more muted, echoing tap. Blowing off the years of neglect, he soon found his target; a small latch hidden within the grooves and notches of the hard wood floor. With a reserved grunt, the floor gave way and rose up, revealing a basement that was hidden well enough not to be subjected to the same level of pilferage as the room above. Kiritsugu Emiya wasn't some two-bit thug who kept the tools of his trade in the open after all, he was a professional who hunted powerful Mages of the Kisei Clan. So as Emiya descended into the concealed basement, he knew there'd be something left for him down here...

(Gān Jiàng & Mò Yé (Daitai) Kanshō & Bakuya (Alter)
Type: Tool (Weapon)
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short - Mid (Varies (Trace On)
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: Modeled after a pair of short blades forged by a revered pair of blacksmiths, Kanshō & Bakyua (Alter) are a pair of bayoneted modular twin hand cannons, styled after the concept of Yin and Yang. Kanshō, the black Yang blade, is covered in a red hexagonal pattern, and Bakuya, the white Yin blade, has the glistening haze of a cloud. Both hand cannons possess a modular frame, allowing the user to manipulate the "structure" of both, within reason. This fully manifests in the Hand Cannon's primarily ability, "Trace On", detailed below. The Hand Cannon's themselves, when not utilizing Trace On are each capable of firing one B-Rank Chakra Projectile up to Mid Range, with the nature of Chakra dependent on the kind the user supplies the Hand Cannon with. Each individual projectile counts as one of the user's 3 Jutsu per turn, and travel as fast as an average Lightning Release projectile.

Trace On: This is the primary ability for Kanshō & Bakuya, and stems from their modular frame, allowing the user to alter aspects of the Hand Cannons to suit a variety of weapon configurations. For example, the user can change the barrel of a gun to make it longer, or the chamber wider allowing for a larger "caliber" of shot, or even "combine" both hand cannons to become one larger "gun". This allows Kanshō & Bakuya (Alter) to take on the form and function of any other Gun-based Scientific Ninja Tool Weapon the user possesses, or otherwise has access to. As a result, the Hand Cannons take on the general appearance and abilities of the "Traced" Gun, while retaining the Hand Cannon's Blades (where applicable), as well as their ability to select their projectiles Chakra Nature. "Traced" factors include the weapons Rank, Range, costs, restrictions, etc, including those of that weapons own separate abilities. Only one Weapon can be Traced at a time, which means if the user Traces another singular pistol-type weapon, only one or the other of either Kanshō or Bakuya can be modified to suit that particular weapon, not both, nor can the user have both Kanshō & Bakuya Trace different weapons at the same time, unless they fall under a single "Weapon". Additionally, the user can have have one Weapon applied to Kanshō & Bakuya (Alter) within their Biography by default, and allows them to enter combat with the Hand Cannon's actively Tracing that weapon if they wish. The user can perform "Trace On" a max of thrice per battle, which each consuming one of their 3 Jutsu per turn, and applying one to the user's biography counting as a usage. Finally, while the Hand Cannons are "Traced", the user can passively undo "Trace On", reverting Kanshō & Bakuya back to their original state. While Trace On is active, the user cannot user Unlimited Lost Works. Trace On, lasts a maximum of four turns before having to revert back to its original state.

On both Kanshō and Bakuya, there is a unique seal applied to the side of each gun's frame. The Kanji "無名", or "Nameless Phantasm" is faintly visible to the naked eye. When Chakra is channeled into the Seal, it activates, passively filling the length of the barrel of Kanshō/ Bakuya with a unique barrier. After the seal has been activated, Kanshō/ Bakuya can fire a unique Chakra projectile that, as it passes through the barrel, and by extension the barrier, is inscribed with a unique sealing formulae that gives off a strong purple aura and, upon contact with an external physical medium, unseals its contents. The contents of the seal are rather simple; a vast number of blades. If this projectile makes direct contact with a living being, after breaking through the skin, the sealed swords , piercing through bone and flesh with relative ease, dealing untold damage to the affected body part(s). When making impact on anything else, such as the ground or similar surface, the swords burst forth over a 5m range, potentially harming anyone within this area (including the user), dealing damage equivalent to an A-Rank physical Kenjutsu if hit, otherwise they simply linger on the field as simple weapons with no special properties of their own, that can be drawn and used as though they had always been there. Unlimited Lost Works is considered an S-Rank Raw Chakra Jutsu in terms of cost, damage (excluding the aforementioned example of "missing"), etc, and costs 1 of the user's moves to fire the projectile. Finally, once activated, Unlimited Lost Works cannot be performed for 3 turns.

Note: The Chakra natures that can be infused into both hand cannons is only limited by the types of Chakra the user themselves have access to, including Raw Chakra, Basic 5 Elements, Advanced Elements, Custom Elements, etc.
Note: As a result of their modular frame, and more specifically the bayonet blades attached to each hand cannon, Kanshō and Bakuya Alter can be used in conjunction with Kenjutsu techniques the user is able to perform, within reason due to the size of the blades. When the Hand Cannons are combined into a singular weapon through "Trace On", the bayonet blades line up to form one singular "blade", and can be used in conjunction with any Kenjutsu techniques the user has, and can perform.
Note: Unlimited Lost Works can be performed a max of twice per battle, once per hand cannon.

A time-worn sepia tone map of the world slayed out on a table in the center of the room, dust kicked up by a decade long respite coming to an end, a solitary ray of light forcing it's way through a faintly ajar curtain on a ground level window, and there, at the center of it all, a pair of custom hand cannons, bearing an almost impossible resemblance to Emiya's own weapons of choice; Kanshō and Bakuya. While there was yet more tools and armaments to find within this stash, those guns were by far the most interesting, and perplexing discovery, for their existence seemed to defy reality. Emiya had never seen those guns before, and yet their design was clearly based on his weapons. The room had been undisturbed for years, yet they couldn't have existed all this time. Did the blades inspire the design of the guns, or were the guns the true inspiration? It was a paradox that perplexed the young swordsman, but one thing was absolute; He was not leaving without them. The rest of the tools within the safe house were primarily spares of Kiritsugu's standard equipment, ranging from small arms, like the Calico M950, to heavier arms, like his infamous Walther WA2000, which had been used to eliminate many a threat from an absurdly safe distance. One other discovery was a, for the time anyway, bleeding edge, state of the art helmet with a striking black and yellow motif. Between that, the hand cannons, and a much needed change in attire, Emiya felt he was ready to approach the Spider. Not as some fledgling swordsman of an Order of knights far away, but as someone who had existed within, and survived this dark world of murder and deceit.

As he exited the basement level of the safe house, Emiya took the precaution to both close the basement entrance, and also use some forceful kicks to whip up the dust in the entire room. Dust was a natural enemy to secrecy after all. Even if it was missed on the first sweep through the house, to leave signs of disturbance in the form of dust, even an idiot could find the basement level with that obvious an indicator. Of course interest would be piqued in the building anyway after an unknown stranger entered, and not minutes later, exited armed to the teeth. Best to reset the room, and leave it be.

Heading out to the streets of Veskal's Exchange once more, Emiya booted up the helmet now encompassing his head. As the visor hummed to life, after an annoying update installation period, it began displaying a real time heads-up display that scanned the environment, and more specifically the faces of individuals passing by, with a number of flashing icons indicating bounties on some of their heads. Seems like the helmet's operating system was integrated with some database of wanted criminals. Definitely something Kiritsugu cooked up in his spare time, though his tastes were never this extreme. Probably it was designed for a fellow mercenary, and never delivered due to his death. In any case, the feature was a novelty, but not as helpful as the more visible display that was updating in real time with notifications from the world at large. Scanning through the feed, one notice included the mention of the coronation of Mirabelle, while another was the announcement that a miracle child had been found in Last Bastion, and was curing the afflicted of the Red Fever. Though it wasn't visible from beneath the visor, Emiya's face took on a far more reddish hue than would be considered normal. And while this new tool was indeed useful, it wasn't going to help him find the Spider, so Emiya turned his attention towards the good folk of the Exchange. Surely one of them knew about the Spider who had set up their web here?

(Hōnetto no Kamen) Mask of the Hornet
Type: Tool
Rank: A-Rank
Range: N/A
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: Featuring a striking black and yellow design, and an even more striking design that intends to strike fear into the hearts of those in it's sights, the Mask of the Hornet is a supplementary helmet designed for an assassin of little renown. With a built-in air filter based on the breathing apparatus found within Samurai Helmets, it protects it's wearer from airborne attacks, such as poisons, and more specifically, the effects that come from breathing them in. The filter has the additional effect of obscuring the user's voice, masking it by distorting it to be unrecognizable. Next, from the back of the helmet sprout a number of black wires, which have a sensor at the tip of each. These naturally rest on the user's back or shoulders, and work akin to a heart rate monitor, reading medical information about the user when worn, which is then fed into a visor found within the Mask. The visor itself is made of shatter-resistant glass, and encapsulates the entire frontal portion of the mask, which from an external perspective appears to be composed of a carbon-fiber-like material. The visor features a head-up display of the aforementioned medical information, such as their heart rate, Health, Chakra, etc, allowing the user to keep direct tabs on their own condition. Finally the Mask houses a wireless connection unit, that utilizes Wi-Fi to connect to the Noticeboard, displays all important information, especially those regarding Bounties, but also Announcements, etc. When viewing persons through the Mask, it automatically records their face, and then compares it to a regularly updated database of Bounties, taken from the Ninja World Noticeboard. When a successful match is found, universally known information regarding the target, such as their name, Clan, Ninja World affiliation (if applicable), and especially their bounty are all displayed on the Mask's HUD, designed not to intentionally obstruct the user's view by appearing in the peripheral of the visor.

Despite his best efforts to casually eavesdrop, not many people were openly conversing about anything related to the Spider. As Emiya feared he'd have to actually socialize, he noticed what essentially amounted to a pop up on his visor's display. As he was about to dismiss the intrusive advertisement, he read the first few lines, and couldn't believe his luck. The shady bastard was advertising his wares, his gesture of "good will" in humanities efforts against the undead plaguing the lands. He was even kind enough to provide directions to where they could be bought. "Lucky me." Emiya thought to himself, as he began following the mapped location, heading towards the Spider's lair.

His assets would be well placed, it seemed like Strix would join his organisation and get what she needed at the same time. It was a mutual benefit indeed. As their deal would be sealed, Strix would notify Alucard about The Spider's principles. It would seem like they had had an intermediate history. He wouldn't be ignored by The Spider though, he wanted to check out their merchandise but it would seem like he would have to play it cool.

I'll walk behind you, if he tells me to go away i will leave you two alone and then ask of you to request an audience between me and him in my place - if that works for you.

Alucard accompanied Strix to The Spiders lair, hoping to hear what this one might be willing to say to him.

Veskals was a place that was full of people from different parts of the world, and still, Strix found it just as interesting everyday. She could walk around everyday and find new items that were not there the day before, and the history behind each item was fascinating. Her escort was wearing a unique armour, an intricate piece woven with ore and fabric, that had been made almost completely black. Only seeing pictures of it in books before, she recognized it as the Black Ones armour. Curious why he would be working here, Strix perked when she heard him call to her. Looking back to Alucard, she spoke softly as she wandered with the servants of Spider.

As I thought, but I will keep to my word and ask as well if you may have an audience.

As Strix walked onwards, her body was filling with excitement and adrenaline, at the prospect of finally getting the answers she needed about the swirling core in her chest. While other questions swirled in her head, she must remained focused on her goal and why she had come. While she wished to ask multiple questions, if this Spider allowed her only one, she knew what she would ask.

"Then they must pay the same fee you did. The Spider's wealth of knowledge comes at a cost."[/color] He motioned her again, clearly growing impatient having to wait to bring this Akatsuki candidate to the inner sanctum of the most powerful creature in Tobusekai. The two entered the building and were quickly teleported as they walked through the door; it happened in a flash of light, but where they went was a mystery. It was still somewhere in Tobusekai, but it was a mechanism that kept the Spider hidden from direct sight, safe from unwanted guests, and kept his conversations completely private. It was a series of powerful seals and techniques that locked the hidden chamber from outsiders in every sense.

Once the teleportation had ended the former special operations officer and Strix found themselves in the antechamber of the Spider, a large circular iron-clad room with two doors at the back. Between the doors was a massive chair, shaped in the form of the Spider himself - a large, what would be considered obese human, four-armed, non-human creature. Though across his face was something that clearly resembled a smile as Strix entered the room. In his hand was much of the Ryo that Strix had just paid to the Spider, all for this meeting. "Well, if it isn't Phetra's little pet." His voice was deep gravely. "I can sense the tainted energies in your gut as clear as the air I breathe, and the food I eat. I can imagine why you have come here to me today."

Strix couldn't help but smirk a little at the security measures that were taken in order to get to the Spider. Numerous precautions were in place for Spider to prevent intruders to coming into contact with him with Strix wondering just how important Spider was. If he had so many measures to prevent entry, then surely there must be someone dangerous to come after him, or at least to prevent them from coming after him. His voice was a little lower than she expected, but he had such a commanding presence of the room, Strix could instinctually know that he was every bit as dangerous and valuable as his name.
A strange creature, she hadn't seen before, but not by any means disgusting, simply different, strange. His 4 arms were the first thing she noticed, tilting her head slightly as she understood the moniker. Adrenaline pumping through her body, Strix would begin with her head tilted, slightly arching her back in a bow, bending slightly at the knee. A customary sign to show respect to one for hospitality. She didnt want to bow before the man who was profiting off her request for information, but she couldn't risk losing the lead she had been searching for, for months.

If you know of Phetra, and you speak of the energy in me, then you indeed know why I am here, and why I asked audience with you. You have built up a network of information, have access to knowledge and gathered a following to do your work. I request an audience with you, because I believe you are the one that will know what this energy is, and what power it holds.

Strix was direct and to the point. The longer she lingered in here the more unease she felt in Spiders presence. She had already been locked away from escaping should things go awry, not that she planned to, but just in case something had happened. Truth be told, her mind was focused on getting the information from Spider first and foremost, she was fixated on it, the hunger to know what was inside her and how to use it. She needed an answer as much as she breathed and ate.

I was told to nurture and protect this energy, I have done so, and feel no change with in it. I was told by another Voidlord, that it can turn into a Relic Weapon, that they respond to circumstances and environments, however I regret that I still cannot find anything to help me or grow this energy.

Thinking back on her conversation with Demetrias, Strix couldn't help but feel disappointed in herself that even now she had no idea what to do with it.

Type:

Rank: A-Rank

It seems the person wasn’t wrong; the procedure didn’t take long to finalize as Mirabelle sat down in the chair in the backroom. The man approached her with some sort of device, placing it over her eyes as lasers seemingly beamed into her irises. It stung a bit but her body was reinforced by the nature of Yang Release, allowing her to resist most of the pain. In the matter of five minutes, the procedure was completed. She didn’t feel any different, as she turned to the merchant. “This is bullshit…give me my money back” she said gripping him by the shirt. “Shishishi, such impatience will be your downfall if not careful child, please keep calm” he said, snapping his fingers. The room what was once brightly lit faded into darkness; at that moment the man slipped into a whisper shadow like form out of Mirabelle’s grip as he merged with the darkness and emerged about three meters in front of her. “Now simply…blink and try to activate the enhancement” he said.

Mirabelle was a bit surprised by his sudden display of ability but did as he said, closing eyes and almost like an inch in her socket, she felt “something”. As she opened them, the room was now lit in green dimmed light as she saw the man standing not too far in the distance. “I stand corrected…” she said closing her eyes as she deactivates the enhancements. “Thank you” she said bowing, as she leaves the backroom and back to the front desk. “Any time, come see me again if interested in upgrades again” he said before turning to another customer rolling into the area. “Now then…I should be getting back to the battle at hand” she thought to herself…at least for now. She decided to lurk around town, perhaps someone she knew might be nearby.

Alas she released her chakra into a light breeze that blew over the terrain. This allowed her the ability to sense the chakra of everyone located in the area, one of them was familiar. “Emiya’s here…” she said turning into his direction, but also noting a large chakra source (Alucard’s). Deciding to investigate, she quickly body flickers over to Emiya’s location as she appeared three meters in his path. “Emiya, it’s been awhile, I take it that you’re ok? Where’s Enkidu?” she asked wondering where the God Child was. Her first mental guess was with Solomon but she didn’t want to job to conclusions just yet. “My eyes are sore…and what a silly mask you have on” she said to no one in particular as she rubbed them and mused at Emiya’s peace of technology. The procedure still making her eyes somewhat itchy.

As Strix was picked up by the Spider's associate she would wander off with them. It would seem like Alucard had to wait for his turn, though well enough she would request for him to meet with The Spider as well. This lead Alucard to return to the tavern in which the two of them had met in, and with a slightly disappointed posture he would sit himself down next to their table and order more alcohol. He wasn't the most patient man in existence but he would not act out on his ego anymore. Not yet atleast.

..Ugh, so bored..

Casually winding his way through the streets of the Exchange, Mira's sudden, borderline hostile arrival before Shirō was thankfully defused by her familiar, chipper tone. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea for her to quite literally appear out of thin air, given their surroundings, and the shady, criminal nature thereof, but it was nice to see the friendly face in this sea of scoundrels. Her concern about Enkidu's whereabouts was perfectly natural, given the pair hadn't been separated in the months since the God's birth. As Emiya was working the mechanism that kept the mask fixed to his head, Mira's comment about it's appearance, while true given his typical tastes, cut rather deeply considering their last meeting had her doting over his and Enkidu's well-being. Now here she was cutting him down a peg, not that it was terribly effective. Taking the mask off, he addressed her with a nonchalant tone, as though they weren't just conversing in the middle of the street with no knowing how many eavesdroppers.

"Yeah, I'm good all things considered. As for humanity's little miracle, given what he just went through, and the fact that Phetra's army's all over Tobusekai right now, we thought it'd be best to keep him as far away from the Voidlords as possible. He's with Solomon and Merlin, so in the safest hands I know. And Merlin's there too.

How about you? I actually just heard the news about your coronation, how's the leadership role suiting you? Can't be that hard if you've decided to come out here for some R&R... And don't get it twisted, that stands for ransacking and robbery, because why else would anyone in their right mind ever come here?"

The jape was lighthearted, just like Mira's own, but Emiya did speak with a familiarity he felt he didn't really deserve, even if he didn't really care for formality right now. He was speaking to the leader of an entire nation as though they were old friends, despite their encounters being countable on one hand, yet she was the one to seek him out, so the familiarity was, on some level mutual. She wouldn't have done so otherwise.

"So, your eyes are sore? Let me guess. You saw the same ad as me, and decided to go ahead with a little upgrade? Can't say I'm all that interested in the Transhumanism, Cyborg, man-or-machine part. I like my silly technology not grafted to my body. Makes it easier to take off, know what I mean? The guy offering the wares though? Different story. Know anything about the arachnid that runs the augment shop?"

While he wanted to state his reasons for coming, there were certain cards Emiya would rather keep close to his chest, purely out of a desire to not give anyone, especially the one he was here to see, any leverage over him. Knowledge was arguably more valuable than the Spider's dinky cybernetic enhancements, and Emiya was assuming even something as minor as his own face, which had been plastered over the news within the last month due to the appearance of the miracle Child, was something that could be used against him in any negotiations to follow. Of course there were certain things, like his identity, that couldn't be avoided, but he wished to keep his reasons for seeking the Spider out to himself. Easier that way.

Mirabelle rubbed the back of her neck; noting her ascension to Kage is starting to become more public knowledge the more she exposed herself. Despite keeping her Kage’s hat hidden, her cloak still drew attention to her as she smiled weakly. She didn’t know what to say honestly, despite initially feigning the responsibility in wanting to be Kage. “It’s been…tiring…to say the least, but all I can do is try and push forward to creating a brighter future for not only myself and my people, but for the world at large” she commented firmly as she turned to look in the direction of the Last Bastion. She was still needed there, but her curiosity of these enhancements caused her to become side tracked from her actual goals. However a name that was called by Emiya was one she wasn’t familiar with, namely including Voidlord in the same sentence.
So that’s the witch whose causing a mess in Last Bastion…” she said to herself mentally but she simply kept quiet listening to Emiya more.

I see…I suppose Solomon is trustworthy but that man is filled with secrets, some of which I wish I never was told…but what I’ve been told was nothing compared to the stories of how true these godly beings are. I though they were just…myths, till the day Tiamat rose from her prison…I believe anything is possible now” she went on to comment about Emiya leaving Enkidu with Solomon, but lastly he asked about the sketchy merchants here working for Spider.

I’m sorry my friend, but I haven’t heard anything. The Spider, it’s a name I’ve heard only be whispered as I walked around but seems his reign over this place is iron gripped. No information leaks whatsoever…and yes I did get the enhancement, the man told me it doesn’t last a long time and eventually reverts my eyes back to normal so its not a big deal…if you’d like me to guide you to him then I can. I won’t be sticking around for too long, I have to continue the battle against these Undead…though I would like to express an invite to you to come and aid us in the battle for Last Bastion as well” she said smiling. Once she was finished speaking, she simply glanced in the direction of the shop.

"I can take you to the place I got the upgrade from if you want to try and speak to the man there. It's not too far from here" she said to him.

"I'd expect no less from you to be honest. I mean, you didn't even hesitate to travel to the other side of the world just to make sure we were okay after that little stunt Demetrias pulled. Put that into your rule, and I'd say your people'll do just fine.

As for Solomon, his secrets are his own to tell. I'll say this though. It might be hard to read him personally, but it's clear that he cares, even if those words don't actually leave his mouth, so I trust him, even if I don't completely understand him."

The words were rather blunt, but Emiya wasn't going to pry for information, despite how intensely curious he was about his cautious, and seemingly omniscient ally. And sadly, Mira knew little about Spider as well, just like everyone else in this weak excuse for a merchant hub. It would look as though he was heading into the Spider's web almost blind.

"Thanks for the offer, but I..." Emiya had to select his words carefully, so he took a moment to gather his thoughts, "I don't know if I'll be able to join the defense of Last Bastion myself, but I will say this. There's more than one front to this war, and if Solomon's right, the one I'm heading to might just level the playing field."

Emiya wanted to fill Mira in on what had happened since her departure, including his reasons for seeking the Spider out, but Veskal's Exchange may very well just be made out of ears. It was doubtful there was a single corner of the hub that didn't have it's own dedicated eavesdropper, so instead he gave her a deadpan wink, and simple smile.

"I know where I'm headed, so if you need to head back to the Bastion I'm sure I can find the eight legged freak myself. I just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about him before I turned up on his doorstep. Occupational hazard I guess."

Please don’t praise me like that, I’ve yet to do anything worthwhile. If there’s anyone who deserves it is Sado, the Shodaime. The man’s saved the world; but he stuck his neck out for my villagers. I can’t express how much we are in debt to that man” she said feigning any criticism. She loved being praised, don’t get her wrong but she’s gonna be coy about it quite often, simply trying to brush it off to the side. Never the less, she appreciated Emiya’s words and took them to heart but slowly time was running out. The Surgebinder stared to talk about multiple battles being waged right now and he was right, but her curiosity was peaked, perhaps Solomon told him some information that might be useful.

The wink and smile was noted as she nodded, realizing what he meant as she looked around. Many wondering eyes and ears are nearby – perhaps now wasn’t the time after all. “I see, I can offer us a room of space where no one else if you wish to speak somewhere a bit more…secure but I suppose we’ll save that for another time. I can’t leave the others on their own too long, so I will take this as my chance to head out” she said smiling.

Mirabelle drew closer to the man, as she leaned in and kissed his cheek. “Don’t do anything stupid now, it be a shame if I have to find out something happened to you and I have to commit genocide…just kidding hehe” she said with a blush on her face. “Take this as well, it’s a scroll to get in contact with me at any point in time but I suppose going to Tsumigakure would also be valid choice…well, bye for now” she said as she poofs away in smoke. The cover was used to mask her movement as she dashed from sight heading from his sight. She quickly gathered supplies and placed them into a scroll, sealing them away as she then heads out back to the Bastion.
