what Tobidara will do is :

make his whole body intangible...when he do that , his body will be materialized inside his kanui dimension...

thus inside his kamui dimesnion and while he is materialized tobidara can :

1-use kanui back to tepelort himself again.. or use other summoning jusu..

or

2- just use other powerfull jusu like creating uchiha kaenjin barrier....

He can't do anything while phasing, it's an automatic defense.

So its not like his body just phases to the other side. His body is still in real world, but parts of it are on the other side. The phasing is activated by a clash with something, such as when someone tries to punch him.

To move his body to the other side, he need to fully warp himself.
