The ninja world is no longer the same as the series. It's set back in a time before the villages came to be. The warring states era. The time where uchiha fought senjutsu.

YOu can make your own clan or join one and help build it up and eventually become a village. YOu can claim land and so on in the process.

So when you submit your bio, you can build it in a unique way to suit this. You can combine certain abilities and with that you can specialise in things also.

Every bio (unless stated otherwise) can use all the basics which you automatically get as you rank up. The basics being the basic 5 elements, basic ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu and kenjutsu. Everything after that needs training. Here are the two threads to look through:

From what I remember from the old ways there was a Non Naruto Rp section that was separate from the regular battle and training rps where the rps and could be anything and everything, including "cute vampire bunnies".

There are still other rps. Mafia rp, DoT they are around the forum. You'd just have to search to see if the others are still running it. I only focus on the Naruto Rp i'm afraid

So far what I'm getting from the Kumi system is that it's now the currency of the new world. Correct?

Yeah it completely replaces the need for permission. You get it through fights or missions or selling stuff to other members. Then use it to buy abilities.
