The obvious choice is kawakii even tho he doesnt seem to have any blade like weapons.

I think kakashi got his scar from some random fodder but think it will be more meaningful who gives him his scar.

Also don't know if he will get it by the end of part 1. I feel it wont be kawakii since it's too obvious think we will get an kawakii retrieval arc by the end of part 1.

But could be from kawakii since in vote one sasukes headband took damage in time skip we see hes wearing sasukes headband I guess he keeps it and has same scar Mark's as his eyes so maybe for whatever reason takes sasukes headband again and after math of the battle sustains an eye scar

Then the bigger question where does he get the knew eye and keep eye closed very reminiscent of kakashi.

OOOOR maybe there's absolutely no reason but to make him look cool.

Just take a look at Sasuke. He has one eye and missing arm, like Guts from Berserk.

Boruto is trying to be the anti-Sasuke and that's why he only has one Jougan instead of two and on the opposite side of Sasuke's Rinnegan.

As for scar, some people are bringing up Kakashi and I believe it is also for that reason as well.

However it will come, whatever reason it may be, it is all for aesthetics first. How it happens is just BS.

It makes no sense for him to have a dojutsu, while having a scar like Kakashi's. I would posit it was done to try and make him look cooler, but flopped hard. He will likely scratch himself or something, because he's not getting enough attention.

You probably want to go with the most obvious outcome which is Kawaki. They probably clash at some point before the monument scene. It appears that Ishiki and Momoshiki are not working together so they could be enemies or rivals. The scar definitely means that he took an L to someone more powerful. There aren't many options other than Kawaki. Naruto doesn't usually use weapons so that leaves Sasuke as the seconds most likely candidate. Its possible and has dramatic effect because it's his sensei who stopped his rampage and throws him out of the village. Boruto would then go from renown hero to feared villain. Then you will have to explain how he got the cape and sword.
