Its a new series on mangaplus first chapters out and looks promising to me.

The premise is that the series is set in some medieval fictional world where humans live in fortress communities to protect themselves from monster hordes. Witches are tasked to protect these communities from this horde. We have our series protagonist Fafnir a regular human knight tasked to guard the witch Manafsa. We learn in the first chapter that witches are actually manufactured by the kingdom to fight these monsters by infecting them with the monsters. Resulting them in turning into these monsters if not killed before.

We learn Fafnirs jon was actually to kill the witch which hes against and escapes with Manafsa and goes out on a journey to figure out how to cure witches and make it where witches no longer exist.

I'm interested to see this world exploration and the mystery of the series. Like why only females are decided to be tampered with and not guys. Also with a name like Fafnir get the feeling he will get infected too and turn into a dragon and that's probably how it effects guys turns them into monsters with increased fighting capabilities

Heres the first chapter

Yes, we'll probably know more after the 12 mark, but so far the plot point has been emphasised and we've been given a time limit.
Ch 3 is out I just realized it's strange how much the witches know what's happening to them you would think they would be kept in the dark like the guards. I'm assuming Manafsa attendant gave her the info.

Also this new witch is interesting they're giving her freedom to roam to capture them I'm assuming she must be one subservient witch and where did they come from. I think each fortress town had one witch to oversee.

I think that guy didnt do that magic but was using it in unison with the witch.

So finally read the chapter.

Yes, I think the witches know so they're prepped for it. Sort of like conditioning, that even in death they're protecting the nations by not becoming evils. It's like a sort of solace for them and to make them more accepting of their fate.

I also think that's why they have a Guardian they get close with. They get attached to the Guardian so if they were to ever change their mind, the thought of becoming an ene.y of the guardian compels them to accept their fate.

Yep it seems there are other witches, confirmed now. It stands to reason city states would have their own witches to protect them. If there was a way around using them the humans would've employed it and killed them off.

Things are getting interesting also that fellow with the metal prowess, he seems like kind of a bad boy. And the fact a witch survived to old age. Also, did you pick up on the hint that if a witch is killed by other than her guardian she becomes a great evil. I expect they will encounter some of those great evils, what do you think?

And did you notice it's set on the Island of Albion (Great Britain)?

I guess that makes sense why the know but I think more often if some learned that they would panick and might turn them into an evil sooner.

Also I wonder what happens to witches not guarding cities do they just kill the unnecessary surplus or keep them captive somewhere.

Also dont think that guy did the metal magic I think some how he can control the witch some how to use her magic.

Also I didnt know it's set it in Great Britain what tipped you off?

I think they only male witches as and when they need them, so there shouldn't be a surplus.

I think you're right the metal magic is connected to the witch. She might be uaing it or lending him her power, sort of like a magi knight.

As for Great Britain, the map they showed for the travels. It was of the UK and Ireland.
