I have no answer as to why Madara didn't counter Lava bijuudama but if Madara couldn't or didn't counter/cancel it then Sarada definitely can't.

Putting a half breed over a full blooded Uchiha like Madara or any full blood Uchiha is insane when it comes to their signature move.
