Sentinel's Stand

Sentinel's Stand is an abandoned watch tower at the cliffsides of Northeastern Tobusekai. Legend has it that the Sentinel's Stand was once manned by the first humans, built thousands of yeasr ago as some outpost. In truth, it was a far eastern trading post built during the Silver Empire. Today the tower is in ruins, occupied by sentries belonging to Millicent's Adherents of Rot.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:

Investigate the history of a landmark ( 3 )

Summary: Sado is expanding the horizons of the lands claimed by Tsumigakure. Along the way, he is investigating more about the Mother Cult. Just like everyone else he has heard the rumors about their excavation in the Pit. Slowly, it's dawning on him that he may have chased Takauji into the arms of whatever sinister organization calls Tobusekai their home with the letter he read through before. Exploring the surrounding lands and their histories seemed to be a good way to get more information.
The stench again, that same scent form the Dead Marshes. It was the smell of decay, death, and war, indifferent rot that spread throughout the land like a disease eating away at everything in its way. It was something he was used to, but it was still offputting as Salazzle his personal summon yanked at Sado's armor and shirt pulling a swath of cloth over her nose. Sado exhaled hard as he walked up, the face of the cliffside.
Scaling mountaintops and elevated plateaus wasn't hard for him. It was basically second nature by this point. However, what greeted him atop that cliffside was a huge tower probably the tallest tower he had ever seen. It seemed to rest on the elevated cliffside sitting above the sea and the land. It was such a strange sight to him. Such a strategic position, abandoned to rot, and time. As he approached the entrance of the tower he found numerous corpses.
Well, to call them corpses wasn't exact, they were nothing but bones and armor. Sado lifted his arm releasing a torrent of flames engulfing most of the bodies in a growing flame. It didn't take much before the bones were reduced to dust and ash. Sado would gradually grip at the door of the tower pulling the massive double doors aside with a loud creaking eerie noise. As the door opened he was met with another wave of smell, mildew and mold another testament to the spreading rot.

(Katon: Honoo no Heki) Fire Release: Flame Wall
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user kneads fire chakra into their forearm and then by swinging their arm in a wave motion they release the fire chakra creating a line of fire that spreads out infront of the user acting as a defensive wall.
With the doors open Sado entered into the long forgotten and abandoned tower. Everything was covered in numerous layers of dirt, and dust, as the air inside the sprawling tower felt dry, and arid. The first thing that welcomed him inside was a wide tapestry. It hung from the top of the tower, being extremely long, torn in places but it seemed to tell a story.
An extensive story, that due to Sado being at the bottom, seemed to be in reverse. What he saw seemed to be the end of whatever narrative that sat before him. What he saw, was confusing, it seemed to be the end of a war but both sides weren't human. One side seemed to be normal humans, crude, but direct, in their representation. They stood above numerous fallen enemies of various proportions and shapes with one giant entity hidden away below the earth.
They appeared more like beasts or animals than the humans on the other side of the tapestry. These creatures were malformed, twisted and grotesque reminding Sado of the various demonic transformations his tribe could undergo. Some of the beasts had thin. scrawny frames with wings, others had massive bodies showing the odd and various different proportions the creatures had. They all had one thing in common as Sado looked up at the dust-covered, blood-stained cloth. They were all dead and defunct left in a pile, at the feet of the humans who seemed to turn away victorious.
Sado started to climb the stairs which twisted and turned a spiral circling around the long, story-telling, cloth. As he ascended he kicked a few more corpses off of the steps to make a way for himself. Gradually he made his way up the stairs as he continued looking at the tapestry, he got to the part where the beasts and the humans clashed in a war-like battle. The beasts were many and chaotic, but what the humans seemed to have that they didn't were organization and unity. From the depictions, one of the beast-like creatures could tear through hundreds of the humans but the humans had technology.
As he continued forward, climbing the stairs the story grew bleak, well since he was seeing it in reverse, it seemed like the middle, and the beginning were the bleak parts. It seemed the beasts had preyed upon the humans for generations tearing through and consuming them until they grew bold and strong enough to fight back. Homes, and families sundered, as the beasts, tore through the settlements built by man. It reminded him of his tribe's fervor and beastly nature their ability to tear down entire settlements in fits of rage and madness. As much as he sympathized for the humans, he felt more like the beasts that had torn down everything in their path until their inevitable deaths.
Eventually, Sado reached the creation of humans, godly beings, of course, it was "godly beings" if it wasn't the Sage of Six Paths it was some other religious nonsense about divine creation. By this point he had almost reached the apex of the tower looking up he saw the tether that bolted the tapestry to the ceiling. As he looked up, reaching the start of the story, it seemed the humans were created after the beasts.
The beasts had roamed free upon the earth before human intervention. Upon their creation, it seemed the humans tried to subjugate and kill the beasts, but the chaotic nature of the beasts made them strive for freedom which lead into the beasts lashing out and killing the humans further down the tapestry. Salazzle asked Sado a question, as they progressed upward.

What do you think it means?

It was all making sense to him. Greed, greed leads everything in this world. Humans were a pathetically greedy lot, easy to manipulate. But the beasts were just as voracious, so willing to consume anything put before them. Sado saw similarities in both sides, for himself and thus related to each side in his own way. A part of him longed for a home, for a place to call his own, just like the humans fought for. However, like the beasts a part of him longed for freedom and to destroy. The duality was always confusing for him.
Though, as he climbed he saw the creation of the beasts, it seemed the beasts were created by a female goddess of some sort. Before the beasts, she birthed more spawn like her who fight amongst each other and her. These were the beings that created humans later on in the story. At least that was the story told by the tapestry. It wasn't something Sado believed or cared about but it was what was put before him. To a degree, he wondered if this woman, this matronly figure was the "Mother" in "Mother Cult." It made sense, a bit, and even fit into what happened over Conquerer's End last year.
To him, it seemed he was finally reaching the top of the staircase Sado walked out onto the watchtower's highest point. He looked out over the ocean, then the cliffsides. What a story, or was it more than that? He thought to himself. Then out of the corner of his eye he noticed a flag hanging high in the air, torn and shredded by the wind as he exhaled a tiny bolt of fire igniting the flag and burning it to cinders. In its place, he put the banner of Tsumigakure as a notice to anyone who saw it that this was now a part of Tsumigakure.
He didn't care what past it held, or what story these lands had. It was theirs now, and they would decide it's future. However, he pondered what he saw on that cloth. Since he was a child, he was taught to believe that he wasn't a human. Just what was he? Sado left, toward the north. His mind caught on what he saw back inside of that tower. How much of it was true? Who were those beings?

The clone of Korra would come out from the house bored after being lazy for so long. After reading the note from Sado she would take the burner phone given to her by Geets and text Sado.

SADO! I AM BORED DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING I CAN DO!
You must be registered for see medias

( Sandāu~ēbu ) - Thunderwave
Type: Tool
Rank: A
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: N/A ( - 5 per turn when used )
Damage: N/A
Description: Thunderwave is a basic chest plate outfitted with a surround sound speaker system, and a microphone. It can be used to play music or make noises more audible than normal similar to a karaoke machine. It is able to produce sound louder than most techniques or the clashing of techniques and can be much louder than the user or opponent can scream. In essence it can act like the (Utsusemi no Jutsu) - Empty Cicada Shell Technique passively at all times being louder and stronger than even that basic technique. It comes pre-loaded with all of the wielder's favorite songs. In battle it can be used to play theme music or it can make the user louder as it has a built in microphone system connected to the speaker system.
The primary use of Thunderwave as mentioned above is the ability to play music with the offshoot of this being the ability to cancel sound waves with sound waves while playing music. This is similar to the Scientific Ninja Tool: Shijima and works like a noise-cancellation speaker. The system can emit a sound wave with the same amplitude but with inverted phase also known as antiphase to the original sound. The waves combine to form a new wave, in a process called interference, and effectively cancel each other out. This effect is called destructive interference and is able to nullify sound techniques in equal rank. The sound can encompass a short - long range area around the user being louder the closer to the user the people who can hear it are and due to this it has a dampening system as to not harm the users ears or cause them any undue problems. It can be fine tuned to look different depending on the wielder's appearance or preference.
Note: Sound techniques can only be canceled once per turn three times per battle.
The music pierced through the landmark as Sado moved forward.

I Am BoREd dO YoU HaVe SomEThING I caN Do!?

Sado spoke in a mocking tone as he got the message reading over it.

I specifically left a note for such an occasion. God damn.

Sado sent back a long string of text in three rapid-fire messages, before sending a final fourth.
The Excavation Site
Players involved:
Korra, Shady Doctor
Rank: B
Description: Rumors spread through the east of the Mother Cult and their excavation site. You as a shinobi of Tsumigakure are tasked with traveling to Excavation Site ( 244 ) and spying upon the Necromancers, cultists and the undead. Your job is to gather as much usable information as possible in non-combative ways. Things like their objectives, their level of intelligence, their positions and order of command. Stay out of sight, and don't be found. You are permitted to do this as a group or solo.

ZOMBIE
Players involved:
Korra, Shady Doctor
Rank: S
Description: Now that you know the layout of the excavation site, and the level of intelligence, and chain of command you are tasked with fighting. Attack a group of the undead and the cultists, and trap as many as possible. Obviously, this will require a light touch. The more damage and destruction you do to the undead the less there is to know about them. Capture as many as possible using low-level Ninjutsu ( B rank and below ) mid-level taijutsu ( A rank or below ) or freeform actions. You are tasked with capturing at minimum a group of five specimens for further study. Bring them to a safe position, for example, The Lost Shores ( 239 ) for the next part of our initiative. You are permitted to do this as a group or solo.
Note: A bonus allotment of 30% is added to this mission bringing it to a 1950 kumi payout

UNRAVEL
Players involved:
Korra, Shady Doctor
Rank: B
Description: Now that we have several specimens from the excavation site to work with you are tasked with experimenting on them and extracting information from them. Find out what makes the undead tick, what they're weak to, what they're strong against. As well as their level of intelligence, anything of importance, how they survived past their deaths or were reanimated. If you can figure out what binds them to the material world, even better. If needed you are permitted to perform vivisection, and autopsies on any of the undead specimens. The living cultists are to be interrogated and questioned. Get as much information as you can from them, be it about the Mother Cult, or the Necromancers. You are permitted to do this as a group or solo.

Take The Power Back
Players involved:
Anyone
Rank: A
Description: Your mission is a simple one, though may be dangerous. Claim land in Tobusekai. By any means necessary. Spread the name of Tsumigakure, and take what belongs to us. To pass this mission you will need to face some form of violent resistance be it bandits, undead, or other beasts. You are to clear out a landmark and claim it for Tsumigakure.
At least now he had someone to investigate the Mother Cult for him which could be useful.

Salazzle replied to his bitching and moaning confused with his change in tone.

I don't know why you're complaining. At least Korra completes the missions you give her.

Has the Yin energy made you a little bitch, today?

The salamander grinned at Sado, hiding it behind her left hand as they continued on leaving.

Alucard would activate his Tenseigan as he entered the Sentinel's stand. This was uncharted territories for him and would unquestionably require his full attention. He traveled to the northenmost peak of the landmark and looked out towards the great decaying spire that would make the trademark of the continent. It's ancient and unknown history was something that would be of great interest for Alucard. He would remain here for some time before picking up his story again.

Strix arrived in Sentinels Stand after leaving the Sanctuary of the Moon, and putting the temper tantrum behind her, slightly embarrassed she had lost her cool. It wasn't often that Strix had lost her head and given in to pure emotion but considering it had hit one of her weak points, she was a little sore about the whole situation. Taking rest in a ruined building, climbing to the top to look out over the ruins around, she threw her bag down on the ground and took a few deep breaths. Strix was looking to calm herself while she would think about her next step, thinking about what she could do to move forward. Taking a wand from her hip, she conjured up a chair and table made from wood to sit at, and look over the map. These Cores seemed to be powerful legendary objects of potential power, at least Demetrias indicated that there could potentially be more of them, and that others could make them. Where she was to go from here, Strix wondered, perhaps to the old sites where the Old Gods fought against Tiamat, or perhaps even where it all start, the Tomb of Marduk. Maybe taking the core to the site would release some particular energy, or trigger something from the site itself. Strix began writing notes into the night as she studied the map.

Strix's Relic Core would suddenly vibrate to life, radiating a heat that was warm to the touch, though not searing hot by any means. A single word wouldn't be spoken by the ancient device; it would simply unleash an image in her mind. A powerful mental projection that revealed a specific location in the world, off the western coast of Tobusekai somewhere in the Kaizoku Sea. The image painted was that of a single island, a place isolated from the rest of the world for thousands of years. Few had visited the island since its great isolation, wrought by the destructive power of Imhullu - Marduk's divine weapon. That image would then quickly be replaced by another, a much more dire one. Countless liters of blood dripping from the body of a dead beast, seeping into the beautiful ocean waters surrounding the jungle-claimed island. But the blood wouldn't intermix with the ocean. It would, as soon as it hit the water, turn to a dark red steam that would be pulled directly downward into the depths off the continental shelf. Somewhere deep, somewhere dark. A ritual was being prepared, and it was Strix's duty to find the catalyst.

Suddenly taken aback by the display of the Core, Strix was intrigued by its operation, as if it had known she was seeking more answers. AS the Core had shown her more information, hundreds of books began to flick through her own mind. Creating a mind palace for herself, Strix flipped through the volumes looking into the geography cross sectioned with jungles. She could write off a dozen islands straight away, known more for their volcanos. Narrowing it down to two possibilities, Strix packed up her things, slung her bag over her shoulder and flew off into the night.

Drifted from a fork in the road, Alucard and co had now found themselves on the shores of the Sentinel's Stand. The watchtower that was the signature mark revealed their progress. Were they lost now all of the sudden? Alucard went to the shore and stared out on the black sea. The landmark was as lifeless and barren as the other far east landmarks of Tobusekai. His thoughts were clouded by the encounter with Mina Harker. He could not do what he was sending himself out to do right now. His decision would probably anchor a terrible fate but it was his decision.

..Come brothers we're leaving...

Alucard would create an ensemble of debris to form into a floating platform, his signature technique for usage to cross the seas. Especially the Hokubu as god only knew what was contained with in it.

( Kinbō Tensei Jōzai ) - Localized Reincarnation Tablet
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 30 (+15 per turn active)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user creates a floating sphere from nearby debris beneath them, using the gravitational control to levitate the sphere of debris and use it as a floating platform. Keeping it active, however, requires the user to expend chakra.
Note: Can only be used by Tenseigan Bios.

The set altitude was 100 meters above the waves. A new journey to a far off land was now on the horizon.
