What do you think she meant their emotions were taken by the SMILE fruits? Think that's metaphorically or literally as in they somehow harvested the people's emotions in the creation process of SMILE?

i dont understand.. doffy produces the fruit & Kaido buys... why would there be another step after buying if they were already good enough to be sold? how could they even put someone's emotions into a fruit? my mind will be broken by the reasoning

Maybe the fruit Doffy and Caesar sold were the shell? Then the power is put in? You would think creating powers like that would cost something though right? Could be parts of spirit or something.

I love the subtlety and unexpected depth of this chapter.

Orochi has a severe minority complex towards Oden Kozuki and is even after 20 years so paranoid of just the image of him in his mind that he gets mocked for it by almost all of his subordinates. Yet, in the end he's exactly right and Yazu perfectly used that tension to pretty much manipulate everyone into believing what he said.

You could even say he scored a perfect victory if it weren't for the fact he (supposedly) died, but then again that was his intention in the first place. Lies turned into truths and vice versa in such a fluent manner I'm not even sure what is what. Was he now the Witching Hour Boy or not? Did he simply pretend to be him so that he would be executed or was he really him, but intentionally botched it so that people wouldn't believe him in the end?

Love the psychological game he played and his last taunt of Orochi was plainly brutal in all its simplicity.

Holy shit idk why I didn't make this connection until seeing it written out. It's called S.A.D. sad and the people of ebisu can't be anything but happy. Have they lost their sad?

so the next thing is that Orochi was about to **** up toko because of a fault he had a hand in. or does he just not know about the emotions thing? it shouldve been obvious that she was from ebisu town if she often accompanies the royal thot(can't remember her name) when visiting Orochi.

"this is the age of smiles...SMILES fufufufu"

Furthermore upon re-reading the chapter i realised Yasui's last name is shimotsuki. When i read it, it sounded familiar so i checked the onepiece wiki.

Yes, you might have realised already, but shimotsuki is the village Zoro grew up in! This really does seem to confirm a connection between Koushirou and Wano, but possibly the entirety of the shimotsuki village being founded by people of wano who've left.

Now you're gonna tell me wano's borders are closed but two people have been confirmed now to have left wano. Most likely after oden made it a norm to go in and out.

First being the the builder dude. He has one son in wano and one in east blue.

Secondly, koushirou . Above i have provided info about a possible connection between the shimotsuki village and wano. Now in this chapter , page 3, we see a samurai with the same cross sword emblem on his kimono very similar to koushirou's.

Oda already established a while ago outside the story (in the SBS I think) that a ship from Wano arrived 20-ish years ago in the Goa Kingdom and that this would be a small subplot in the Wano-arc. Possibly this was just a prediction of someone, but I think it was rather legit.

Considering it was established this chapter that only Hakumai has a real harbor, which was controlled by Yasuie, it's not hard to assume from where exactly the ship came and I doubt that ship had only one or two persons on it.

True,i've read that SBS thats why i said possibly some people of wano emigrated from the new world to the far reaches of paradise.

Ohh, just thought of something i remember a while back people were theorizing that kuina didn't fall of a staircase and died but rather some criminals were causing trouble. What if, those 'criminals' were in fact land of wano samurai sent to shimosuki village to threaten them because they were a disgrace by deserting wano kingdom?

Remember the Lineage factor developed by Vegapunk? It messes up with human emotions. Judge used it on his children and it altered their emotions. Look at Kuma loosing his emotions too. Most likely, Gastino used Lineage factor in creating SMILEs

That's a really old theory, I even think it predates the time-skip, with other words long before there was any connection between Zoro and Wano and even back then I was never keen on the idea and that hasn't changed. There's simply no reason to kill a girl in small village on the other side of the world.

I doubt Oda had any incentive to have Kuina's death be more than just an accident when he wrote it, but of course there's enough room here to simply change that.

A possible explanation could be they left around, either just before or after, the rebellion and they possibly thought Kuina was momo's sister.
