I remember i was in forum discussion the battle being tobi being obito or madara's son /izuna . The reveal of tobi was not much surpurising to me the reactions he gave to kakashi were certainly giving he was obito.

I didnt find it much surprising overall . Overall the obito reveal was well marketed and well timed i think . I dont think people felt the reveal was bad or anything.

It was trash. Should've been Madara. They hyped his ass up in the Itachi fight and via Jiraiya only to reanimate him like trash as an Edo.

It was one of the worst reveals in the history of shonen manga. Kishi had to come up with an extremely convulted story to even explain it.

My tiny brain was just glad for it to have been confirmed. At the time it could have been Chouji and Id have been hyped.

People claim it was obvious but that simply isn't true. Hindsight is 20/20 but as someone who remembers the ridicule you received for mentioning obito I think it was well done. At that point in the story kishi rarely brought back characters that were revealed so far back in the story. It wasn't until the end that he started using any and everyone.
