Orochimaru is smart enough to figure out Pain's secrets and create a proper strategy for him and Jiraiya to follow:

Orochimaru and Jiraiya have enough capabilities to handle the summons and non essential paths.


CT is the only issue I see for the sannin so im going with:

If EDO restricted: Orochimaru and Jiraiya High difficulty

If Edo allowed: medium to 0 difficulty

Because Orochimaru's Edo's were the Kage not that he can still summon them, not that it would matter.

PS. Pain didn't actually say that, he was praising Jiraiya while holding back. He would've negged him if they weren't in the Rain.

There is a HUGE difference between Nagato and the Pains...

Each pain defeated effectively removes an ability.

NAgato is an all in 1 shop capable of using all paths simultaneously

Human path handles Edo Tensei. Removal of the soul cancels the jutsu. Plus pain can summon gedo statue and use the spirit dragon thing that absorbs chakra and takes souls.

The pains reflect Nagato's power, you're forgetting his mission in Konoha was intel gathering and distraction not outright killing. Against Jiraiya preserving Amegakure again while beating Jiraiya would fall into holding back. Nagato himself is a one man army he could ptetty much violate two Jins like fodder he'd be overkill.

This is where I have to disagree, SM Jiraiya couldn’t solo Pain. Ma and Pa were essential to both Naruto and Jiraiya’s battles in every way.

With Intel Jiraiya alone could probably kill Pain. Sound genjutsu on all 6 of them and that's it.
