Still the best. I mean the current villains in Boruto are literally a bunch of copy cats.
Kashin koji's relationship with Boruto will porbably be similar to Oro's RS with Sasuke.
Momoshiki giving the Otsutsuki seal=Oro's curse seal with Sasuke.
The whole vessel thing sounds like how Sasuke's body was Oro's perfect vessel in order to become the ultimate being, different goals but same concept.
The point? Just to show you how even Kodachi knows that nobody can top Oro.
Also, Oro was the only "real" Naruto villain, sure his goals weren't that big like the others, but the way he's trying to achive that and the reasons/intentions behind it is what makes him pure evil when it comes to us, readers. All the villains tried to spread peace in NV, their ways of doing that was the only thing wrong about it, I can hardly call anyone of them "true" villains tbh.
the problem with this is that Orochimaru wasn't a villain because his plans weren't that relevant to the plot at large. Orochimaru's chances at being called a villain died the moment Jiraiya mentioned Akatsuki's plans. Orochimaru was nothing more than an antagonist who could occasionally contribute something towards advancing the storyline.

believe it or not, it is possible for someone to not love Kakashi in the slightest. I certainly don't.
What kind of logic is that? Wth?XD
He is a villain and the only "true" villain in the series. Saying that his pland weren't relevant to the plot is just straight up stupid and it doesn't matter either way, that doesn't make him any worse than the others in any case.
Tru harder.
To me he is one of the series best ninja elements. He carried the intro to the series very well and he does find a way to draw me into his character. He's enjoyable
To deny that Naruto is the best written character is really a stretch. He isnt my favorite character, but I can write an entire 20 page report on why he is the best written.
But if he didnt exist, KAKASHI is BY FAR the second best written. Followed by Itachi, Sasuke, and perhaps Nagato

you don't seem to understand that in order for Orochimaru to be considered a villain, his desire to steal Sasuke's body had to be important to the story's overall plot, which it certainly wasn't. You're under a belief that any "bad" guy in a story is a villain, and it couldn't be any further from the truth. Kishimoto even stated in not so many words once that all Akatsuki members were antagonists, so it's pointless to get defensive about it just because you want to view Orochimaru as being more important than he actually was.
Kakashi, even before I learned his story, I loved his character just because of his personality and lazy attitude.
When we learn about his past, It only increased my enjoyment of his charachter.
Not to mention, once we start learning about his story line, there is so many questions that are intrugied.
It kind of went like dominos.
Why is his eye covered?
How does he have sharingan?
Etc.
The story progresses and we find things out and we also learn he was connected with Naruto the main characters dad and life quite a bit and all of this just means a lot to the reader/watcher.
When the topic of discussion being who is the best written character in the series; names such as, Sasuke, Naruto, Itachi or Sakura show up in the conversation.
Whether it's due to sheer amount of exposure, popularity, preference or tragic backstory.
But really, the best written character to me is Kakashi Hatake*.

His story in itself is self-contained for the most part without the need of prophesies, contrived revenge plot lines or a overly dramatic background that beats you over the head the entire series (His/her clan was killed, the village hates him, Revenge etc.)
His early character was always surrounding a mythos that he was always deeper than what was on the surface. His story showed more than it told with little words and his lessons were all from experience.

These scenes in part 1 more than anything looking back displayed a characterization greater than any character in the series.

The Gaiden itself delved deeper into Kakashi's psyche. His motivations and faults.
The regrets of a man and survivors guilt.

To drive it home, him alluding to this fact with Naruto. Kakashi draws from his pain to give lessons and endures. But his reasons for that are even deeper.

He seeks repentance and considers himself garbage.

He saw the world as hell (much like Obito, yes another well written character)

But despite that, he still looked beyond with the very eye that Obito gave him and explained why he was able to still move on.

People believe Naruto TNJ'd Obito when really, all Naruto did was create doubt, enough to win the tug-of-war. Kakashi, someone who knew his pain and TNJ'd him.
(like what Minato said with friends being able to understand better leading Naruto to look at Sasuke hint hint, Vote 2's ending)

Note: This panel doesn't really have much to do with Kakashi as much as it does Obito
(But damn, that's some amazing representation of Obito's eyes finally gaining light) (or seeing light once again. And it's reflected through the Sharingan a "cursed" eye.)

I truly believe the reason Obito and Kakashi reverted back to children in the pure world was because the death of rin was when both of them "died"
Then we finally have his reasoning for becoming Hokage:

And him finally accepting his team. "I love you guys" contrast their first meeting (until Sasuke gets written to **** it all up so we can get that anticipated rematch)

All in all Kakashi is a solid character and honestly the best for me.
My top 3?
1. Naruto
2. Kakashi
3. Sasuke
4. Obito
Also, people hate on my boy Obito hard
"He caused a war because of rin, etc." "He's a Pedo"
It's way, way deeper than that.
*Obviously Naruto is going to be the best written character, But i'd be damned if Kakashi doesnt come in close.
Kakashi was indeed a very very well developed character and hands down one of my favorite anime characters of all time. He has so much depth to him that developed over the series. People do seem to underrate Kakashi in terms of his development and I really hate that.
He lost everything. His father. Rin. Obito. Minato. And yet everything he ever did was for his village and his comrades. Characters that lost that much all turned crazy or had hate in them, but not Kakashi. He was a key player from the beginning. Kakashi was a mystery at the beginning of the show. He was a closed book. He was surrounded by a feeling of something dark or horrible but you just never knew and yet there was still a warmth coming from him. He had never truly forgiven himself for Rin and Obito and he carried that for so long.
I'll agree Itachi was also well developed. He was the ultimate good guy.
But man Kakashi just beats it.
Kakashis one of my favs, even if I don’t think he IS the best written he’s def up there in the top 3 at least for me. One of the best things of the war arc was showing kakashi and gai still being relevant despite nearly every last gen character being thrown to the trash or used as plot devices
Get out Mugen... nowadays, you are just a disrespectful and annoying dude...what the hell happened to you? Not only you don't bother to read any replies on the thread, you don't even bother to read the bloody description (post)!...And yet, you still reply.
