Just of Naruto & Sasuke. They've had their time to shine. We should be shown how the other K11 members have developed over the course of 10+ years. Especially when considering that pretty much all them were skimped over ever since the Sasuke Retrieval Arc except Ino-Shiki-Cho.

Your problem is with the Naruto series, not with this show that from all the old gen, Sakura seems to be in the sidelines.

I'm just waiting for Lee to open the 8th gate and commit Ōtsutsuki genocide. After that, I will rapidly lose interest in the series.

I'm for the new gen but the MC doesn't do it for many of us, you know my issues with him, how he's written and his story as whole so I won't repeat them. The other issue you have is while the old gen is alive and overpowered the new gen is second rate. If they were going to use the new gen then they should've found a way to remove Kurama from Naruto(goes down in the power scaling between Kakashi(no MS) and Jiraiya) and restrict Sasuke's Rinnegan to only Ameno (technically is) and possibly make him lose the other eye(enton and PS are gone). They would no longer overshadow the new gen and we'd have something to look forward to provided MC was replaced.

People want to see the old gen because the new gen don't have anything to offer, hype doesn't cut it.

There is nothing wrong with the old gen being stronger than the kids. It's supposed to be like that wtf why the hell would Boruto and co be competing with the old gen when they just graduated.

When did Sasuke and Naruto begin to compete with the old gen of their time? It took until shippuden before then and even then for Naruto it was way deep into shippuden. It wasn't until the pain arc that Naruto reached the level of the old gen before that he was garbage and needed to be saved the whole time.

Compared to that Boruto is a way better mc. He doesn't get his ass handed to him all the time and he has more than just shadow clone and rasengan going for him. Plus he has already contributed greatly to a battle where the entire planet was at stake.

The new gen need people to look up to and to measure their growth and strength by, that's why Sasuke and Naruto come in. Sarada saw how much work she still needed in the Hokage Gaiden arc and Boruto just got his own taste in the chuunin exam/Momoshiki Invasion arc.

Now they know what they gotta do and will be training hard to reach the level.

Kodashi is a crappy author but that is the one thing he didn't get wrong, well, apparently Kishi wrote the Momoshiki and Uchiha Shin arcs so I guess it is still Kishi in that respect.

The only taste Borat got in the Momo arc was that his plot armour allows him to defeat a charged up super Momo whereas Naruto and Sasuke couldn't.

Now they know what they gotta do and will be training hard to reach the level.
