Rational thought isn't inherent to Uchiha genes. Kid Obito for example, wasn't exactly known for his rationality or his strategicness. Kid/teen Sasuke could also be pretty wreckless at times.

Uchiha or Sakura genes have nothing to do with it. It all comes down to the individual.

In Naruto series we have seen that the family genes are strong and hereditary. Not only via the usage of paralels but also between comparisons.

That individual talk is nothing but a load of crap. We inherit traits even in behaviour that comes from our parents and close relatives. Genes are hard to escape from. This is clearly present in behaviours that incline someone to be an addict.
